Everything at the Home was exactly as described. The owner was extremely helpful with information about the home and also about the surrounding area. The home is not close to much. It is a good 30 minute drive El Tunco which is the main surfing break. If you are looking for a quiet getaway this home is for you. We may have seen two people on the beach the entire 5 days we were at the home. We had ten people in the house and had plenty of room and never felt cramped. One piece of advice would be to make sure that you use the cook who is provided for $15 per day. She is a fantastic cook. One day we bought some fresh seafood at the market in La Libertad and had her cook up an amazing meal for us. We had a fantastic time and look forward to heading back to El Salvador one day.

Mil gracias.

We spent a total of 4 days at the villa and it was just our highlight of our three weeks stay in El salvador. The house is beautiful and offers you the comfort that you expect. The beach is clean and it does have some strong waves, but we loved it. We were a group of twelve persons, which can easily be accomadate by the beach house. Yanira and Miguel were very helpful and Yanira's cooking was delicious! Prior to our stay, the owner was also very helpful by answering all of our questions. Hopefully, we will be able to make another stay at Villa Serena in a near future.

This is an exceptionally beautiful, well manicured home, in an incredible setting right on Cangrejo Beach. It is large and spacious, and accomodated 10 -12 of us very easily and comfortably. The large two story wall of windows opens completely, so you feel the sea breeze all day. Every room you can hear the sound of the surf at night. The A/Cunits in each room are a godsend! It is a pretty quiet area, not overcrowded, even during this busy season. The caretakers were kind, food prepared was delicious, the home was neat when we arrived, but not overly attentive with cleanliness during the stay. When they were successful catching fish, they offered us delicious fresh fish and shrimp for dinner. The surf was extremely high and dangerous at the beginning of the week, but got better, so the kids, ranging from teens to primary school age, and adults could actually play in the water. So nice to have the pool, as they were in the water all day, if not at the beach, then in the pool. The only drawback was the poor internet service there. The owner was extremely attentive in answering every question and need we had before we left, very quickly and seemed genuinely interested in ensuring our trip would be an incredible experience. The directions were perfect, and the vacation was truly idyllic.

Wow, what an amazing time we had in this beautifully built villa! Strategically located, right on a sandy beach, it allowed children and adults to enjoy themselves on the sand or in the wavy waters before retreating to the comfort of the swimming pool. Every time Every time we strolled on the beach, we felt felt it belong solely to us as hardly anyone else seem to ever be in sight. The sunsets were fabulous and Yanira's cooking was always timely and delicious. The overall tranquility of this location contributed to the quality of our vacation. We will definitely be back to villa Serena!

I would recommend this villa anytime. We spent a week there as a group of 8 adults and 5 kids and we enjoyed every minute. The house: Even bigger than it looked in the pictures. With the 8 sliding patio doors opening on the pool and the ocean, it's almost as if you are seating outside when you are in the dining room. This house has been extremely well designed. The pool area: It's perfect for the kids. There is a shallow area (10 inches deep) excellent for toddlers or just for sitting down in the water to watch the kids. The pool is close enough to the house that you can be in the shade by the pool. The beach: It's a fantastic beach. You barely see anyone except for a few local fishermen. It's fine sand so walking bare foot is perfect. The water must be a good 85 degrees. I recommend walking the beach at low tide to collect the shells. There are hundreds of them all along the beach. The kids loved it. You can walk into the ocean and have foot on ground for a good 100 feet. There are some good waves and the kids loved it but be cautious not to go too far as it can be rough at times. The staff: Miguel, the caretaker, and Yanira, the cook, were awesome. We arrived late on the first night and Yanira was waiting for us and had prepared an excellent meal of ''pupusas'', the local specialty. All week she prepared the meals at very flexible timings. She would tell us what to buy at the local grocery store (10 minutes by car). We would decide the meals with her. Cleanliness was excellent. Couldn't ask for better service. Also, Carolina, the owner, was always very prompt to answer all of our questions and gave us a lot of helpful suggestions (car rental, menus,...) Security: We only had friendly encounters with the local population and felt certainly very safe at the villa. Miguel and Yanira live in a house on the villa's property. Sightseeing: We went to see ''El Boqueron'' volcano close to San Salvador. It's approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes drive from the villa. Traveling the countryside made the trip worth it. The volcano itself is a nice place to spend an hour with a few nice viewing spots at the top of the rim. The town of La Libertad is also approximately 30 minutes from the villa and is nice to walk.

Took my girlfriend and her family there. I have to say this is one of the best places ever in El Salvador. The house was amazing. Only went for one day but we enjoyed it very much. The kids were in the pool all day and in the beach. Had a very romantic walk with my girlfrien on the beach. The people there were very nice and polite. Will defitnetly bring back my family and hers to this place. Thank you guys for sharing this house with us.

We had a wonderful time in this BEAUTIFUL beach home. It's off the beaten path so you have the beach all to yourself....but with this beautiful home the beach is almost an afterthought. I live in El Salvador so have seen and rented a few beach homes. This is the best I have had the priviledge of staying in by far. Clean, comfortable, spacious, with an amazing pool. Not an uncomfortable bed in the house and all of the bathrooms had amazingly warm showers. I absolutely recommend this property to any visitors to El Salvador.

What can I say, just perfect!!! If you want to relax and enjoy the best of El Salvador and still feel like you have the comforts of home, stay at Villa Serena. The property is beautiful, secluded and we felt very safe. My family and I stayed there from Dec.20 - 30th 2010. The grounds are clean and colorful with flowers and trees. I personally loved just relaxing in the hammocks and enjoying the ocean breeze. The kids spent countless hours riding the waves and collecting shells. The rooms are clean and comfortable and have great a/c if you need it. The pool was great! . Miguel and Yarina, the care takers, were very helpful and Yarina is a great cook!! We will definitely return and will recommend it to our friends and family.

Four of us stayed in Villa Serena from 8/13 through 8/18 and couldn't have asked for more. This house was more than we expected. It was super clean, modern (rooms were great, air conditioned), comfortable, beautiful views, and wonderful caretakers (we will always remember Miguel, Yanira, and their children). Will definitely go back. Our only inconvience (which is of NO fault of owner) was the weather that deteriorated the roads (it has rained a lot) but hopefully these will be fixed soon. It was difficult to get in and out but we were still well fed and taken care even though we couldn't leave the house (but why leave when you have everything you need). Thank you Carolina and best regards to Miguel/Yanira as well. You were very attentive to our needs and my MILLIONS of questions before we left. Recommended tours: If I go back (which I likely will), I will probably stay at the house the whole week and leave on day tours from there. Suchitoto is a wonderful colonial city and there is a man made lake (Lago de Suchitlan) - we took the boat ride ($30 for 1 hour for your whole group) and got to see Island of Birds (lots of beautiful birds to see). Well worth the money. Once the bridge is fixed, go to Puerto de la Libertad - Curva de Don Jeres is a really good restaurant with affordable seafood and impressive views. Our other tours this visit: Cerro Verde (if you like hiking, volcanos and spectacular views).

My familiy and I experienced Villa Serena for a whole month! It was a wonderful and peaceful experience. The design of the house provides the perfect environment for social gatherings or just having a romantic getaway in a beautiful beach setting. The caretakers were very friendly and helpful. My favorite spot was in the hammock under the palapa right in front of the beach. I'll keep daydreaming about it until next time.

We stayed in Villa Serena for a weekend in February. What a beautiful place! From the moment we entered the grounds, we were impressed with the grounds and the gorgeous setting. The house is wonderfully planned, with an open air atrium. There are 5 beautifully appointed bedrooms. Perfect for families. The groundskeepers made us feel welcome from the start. We even had fresh shrimp and ceviche delivered. The house is pristinely kept and there is not a detail we would change. I am counting the days until we can return! A perfect getaway!
