Map & Owner's Profile

Why the Owner Chose Ruidoso
Never thought I would buy property unexpectedly, that was until I found this diamond in the rough. Skiing in the winter, horse racing in the summer, along with golf, hiking, fishing, mountain biking - and casinos and shopping year round... and museums, performing arts theatres, etc. And it's close enough to drive from Texas - so... yeah :)
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
Honestly, it just seems to be the perfect place. It's located in the middle of town right off Mechem. Popular restaurants and hangouts are right next door. Mid-town is within walking distance as well. The view of the Sacramentos is incredible and deer come down next to the condo and relax in the shade several times a week.
Rated best barbecue in Lincoln County. Excellent brisket, ribs, sausage, and chicken. Try the baked beans and roasted potatoes.
The place to enjoy open mic night, indie films, live music, etc. - along with scones and various teas from around the world.
Great eclectic variety of dishes, trendy bar atmosphere. Try the pumpkin cheesecake.
One of the best Mexican food restaurants in town. Order the sopapillas for dessert.
Closest grocery store. Has a small town feel. If you get there before noon they have a wide variety of HUGE, delicious breakfast burritos back by the deli. Get there early before the locals eat them a
Closed on Monday's. Great lunch specials. Awesome dinner eggrolls -get them!
Hundreds of quaint arts, crafts, antique, and food shops. A Ruidoso main attraction.
Closest public golf course. Great view of Sierra Blanca while playing.
Fun golf course. I would rate it second best public course in area. Around $50 twilight green fee after 2PM. There is also a 2.9 mile running/biking trail around the course, and sand volleyball court
Beautiful state of the art performing arts center - check out their website for upcomming attractions.
12 Miles of switchbacks and you'll be there :) Great place to learn to ski or snowboard. Has snowmaking machines. Lift tickets average about $40-$50 per day.
Bigger than Thriftway with more selection. Movie rental boxes in front of store have great selection for .99 cents a day.
Incredible - A must see for visitors to Ruidoso! World class gaming, golf, and performers. Golf course is the favorite in the area for public courses and if you play it you will see why...
Gas and gambling ;) Has both table games and slots - seems to have a lot of penny slots. Also has a restuarant and convenience store
A great way to spend a Summer day rooting for your favorite pony! Fun family atmosphere. A Ruidoso main attraction.
Local favorite place to play slots in the area. Right next door to Ruidoso Downs. No table games.
Museum to experience the history and culture of area along with the legend of Billy the Kid.

We were pleasantly surprised at the interior of this property. When we drove up it wasn't very impressive, but when we got inside we were so pleased. The location is perfect for anything in the Ruidoso area. The pictures were exactly how the property looked. Everything was so clean and fresh. There was even a computer so we could get any info that we needed. The location is perfect and the owners have thought of so many things to make a vacation more pleasant. The beds were very comfortable and the TV's were amazing. One night the lightbulb was burned out on the front porch. I emailed Jeff and he had it replaced before we got back from the races. Amazing!!!! We came from Texas to get out of the heat, but we really enjoyed the racetrack. We would suggest that you make reservations at the Jockey Club. The view from the 3rd level is so good and the valet parking is the only way to go. We also went to the Inn of the Mountain Gods. It has been rennovated and the Casino is really nice. There is a really neat guide in the condo that the owners have put together that is really helpful.....try the barbeque place across the street....delicious! We will stay here again. Thanks.....

Thanks so much for the helpful information that you guys provided prior to our arrival and at the condo. Despite the wind gusts and blowing sand (just what we thought we had left behind in Seminole) we enjoyed ourselves. We have one more game this afternoon. :) Our stay was comfortable with the washer/dryer and short walk to the grocery store for forgotten necessities.

At the last minute, we decided to Ruidoso for Spring Break 2011 and were pleased to find a place this nice at the published rate. The condo is walking distance from downtown (.9 miles to Cafe Rio for example) and just down the hill from Casa Blanca restaurant, so the location is great. Although the complex itself is a little dated, this unit is nicely updated inside with fresh paint, cabinets, etc. and nice quality of life elements (wi-fi, two nice tv's, working appliances [oven/stove, fridge, dishwasher, disposal, etc.], board games & DVD's for sharing, etc.) Right on the main road, the traffic noise occasionally intrudes, but goes unnoticed after the first few hours. Jeff was very responsive during the registration process and our stay, working to help us resolve issues that would crop up in any rental. The restaurant gift certificate and "what to do in Ruidoso" binder were nice touches as well. The overall experience was very pleasant and this unit qualifies for genuine "diamond in the rough" status. We'd rent here again.

Everything was exactly as promised. Brand new through and through. We had a good time mountain biking shopping and dining at Landlocked. Our family of five (youngest is 14) had plenty of room to stretch out and relax. It was a great escape from the Texas heat. We really enjoyed our stay!

We stayed at Robin and Jeff's condo over the 4th of July weekend. The owner's are easy to work with and provided plenty of great information on things to do and places to eat. They had a notebook complete with information on restaurants, hiking trails, horse racing, and lots of other activities. The condo suited us perfectly while traveling with 2 children (ages 6 & 8) and a Grandmother. We had such a great time in Ruidoso that we hope to be back soon.

My family and I stayed at the Lodge at Lookout Manor over Memorial Day weekend. It is in a great location for access to several restaurants and shops. It was an easy 10 minute walk to the mid-town area, which is full of cute shops and restaurants. Our favorite meal was at Casa Blanca, just a 5 minute walk from the condo. The condo was well equipped with 3 bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths, as well as a full laundry. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a meal. There is also a great selection of board games and movies and video games. The condo is directly on Mechem Drive, which makes it easy to get to good hiking and picnic areas just north of the main town. We look forward to our next trip to Ruidoso. Thanks, Jeff and Robin!

this was out first visit to Ruidoso from 12/27/09 to 1/2/10; 2 adults and 3 boys. We always rent from VRBO for past few years for our 2-3/yr vacations. We were very pleased with this condo. The whole renting process was very smooth. Condo is centrally located and easy to find. Very spacious and had everything we needed. Kids loved playstation. I cooked breakfast and simple dinners effortlessly. We loved it. We will be back there if in Ruidoso. Thanks
