The view from the villa is west, looking over a deserted village in the valley, the marina beyond and out to the Greek islands. There are many walking trails in the area. The village of Yalikavak offers shops and a large selection of restaurants along the waters edge. There is a good selection of shops and cafes at the international marina. Sailboats and windsurf can be rented. 10 - 20 minutes takes you to neighboring villages and 25 minutes to the lively town of Bodrum. After a night out in Bodrum you can escape back to the peace and quiet of this villa. Ephesus is a two hour drive and the ancient Mausoleum of Halikarnas and Castle of St. Peter are both close by in Bodrum.
From the entrance/reception area you can enter the two bedroom main part of the house or the two bedroom guest area. The main house has a large living room, kitchen/dining, larder, library/TV room, games room and laundry on the lower level, master bedroom, large terrace and large bathroom with terrace, second bedroom with en suite. The guest area has a two storey high sitting area with kitchenette, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The lower bathroom opens onto a Bali style courtyard with outdoor shower. There are numerous places to sit and relax depending on the sun and time of day. Covered dining area from kitchen. Sunbeds by the 16 m long infinity pool that drops off to the valley and the panoramic view. Meals can be prepared on request.

Year Purchased: 2005
When I came to Turkey from Canada, for a holiday in 1986 I had no idea I would stay this long. I love it. One year became another and another and I am still here. I love the food, the people, the climate. And my work is very satisfying. I have designed and built this house. In Turkey I have always enjoyed the mix of modern and ancient. And so in my house I have used the traditional with modern convenience.
Why the Owner Chose Yalikavak
I found this area outside Bodrum with a friend and years later don't want to be anywhere else. The hills, the green, that sunset, the market, the view of the Greek islands. The best part in summer is the cool breeze coming up the valley. While the other side of the peninsula is stifling we enjoy that breeze.
The Unique Benefits of this Villa
It took me a while to find just what I wanted in this property. It is 1 km off the main road but feels so private and secluded because the whole valley feels like ours. It is only 5 minutes to the supermarket, the village, the hairdresser, butcher, market, restaurants and 20 minutes to Bodrum. So I feel like I have it all. When I want nightlife, some music, concerts, cinema it is all close by but I can get away from it all in just a few minutes. It seems most of my guests just enjoy being at the villa and enjoying that sunset.
