“The Pink House” Tubac Historic Adobe in Old Town
Now in our fourth season of offering cultural heritage lodging and tours, we welcome you to join us in stepping back to a simpler time and place. Experience the quaint and genuine essence of “Tubac: Where Art and History Meet” that still lives right in the heart of Old Town Tubac’s National Historic District. The “Pink House” --one-of-a-kind--offers guests a range of options from a rustic , self-contained get-away to being in the midst of Tubac’s colorful historic past and vital present. Sharing the historic plaza with Tubac icon—St. Ann’s Church—the “Pink House” is nestled in the charming and laid back adobe village just up a country road from the natural wonders of Santa Cruz River corridor and the Juan Batista de Anza International Trail.
Perfect for a couple on a cultural heritage journey, or artist's retreat, headquarters for bird watching expeditions, or a place to just escape the clash and clamor of modern life. Please note, we deliberately do not have TV/cable, telephones, or internet access in the Pink House.(If you just have to have internet access, there is a hotspot near by).
A short walk uptown, you’ll find fine galleries, shops and restaurants. Rustic and simply furnished with no technological distractions, the old adobe speaks of its many lives -- the 1700’s Spanish Colonial era, its mining, Territorial and Statehood Times, and home and creative enclave for artists since the mid- 1960’s . Painted pink almost 35 years ago, today this historic adobe is part of Aldea de Artisticas—a concept for a working artist’s village that is a work in progress. If you choose to go deeper, I offer up-close and personal guided walking tours (as daughter of two of Tubac’s early artist colonists and author of “300 Years of Tubac Times….”) fresh eggs for your breakfast when our “girls” are laying, and organic peaches and nuts from our trees from mid-summer to fall. As your hostess, I welcome you to share a part of my family home (for close to 50 years) for a unique and memorable experience—'Tubac: Where Art and History Meet.'

Owner info
About the owner: My parents bought the property in 1965 and were among the first artists that founded the Tubac Art Colony. The 'Pink House' is part of the original Spanish Presidio de Tubac, and is on a 1767 map of the Presidio. The motto of Tubac is 'Where Art and History Meet'. That happened on this site. I am preserving the history and spirit of the property and sharing it with those who enjoy the truly authentic.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The 'Pink House' offers the opportunity to step back in time, when life was simpler. Located in the Tubac National Historic District, the home is surrounded by old adobe buildings and next to the Tubac Presidio State Historic Park. Walking distance just down the road is the Santa Cruz River with its cottonwood/willow forest and the Juan Bautista de Anza Trail. A wellness center/spa just around the corner now offers an even more health inducing environment.
