We stayed in this condo with family, making us a group of about seven. Overall we enjoyed our stay. On the plus side, the location is excellent, right smack in the middle of downtown Newport with all its restaurants and shops. The condo is also modern and well maintained and the owner is very friendly. On the minus side, though, even though everyone found somewhere to sleep, we found the condo to be rather tight for the size of our group. Even though it sleeps 6-7, the living room does not have seating for this number of people, so it's quite difficult for everyone to sit around and watch tv, for example. Also, the condo does not provide internet or cable television, which may not be a problem for everyone but it was a problem for us.
Owner response:Thank you for your review Norma. I remember when I first talked/emailed you that I told you I was concerned that the condo would be tight for seven people for seven nights. Groups your size usually rent the condo but it is usually for only a few days coupled with nicer weather so not alot of time is actually spent in the condo. There is no interent connection. (For those of you reading this there is a Starbucks about a 5-10 min walk that has interent access). Regarding the cable, I have cable but only basic cable. I do not have the extended cable channels. I hope you were able to get to the Redbox down the street to rent some movies as well. My cleaner said the condo was in great condition after you left so thanks for being considerate renters but I'm sorry it wasn't quite what you expected. Thanks, Tricia

Just a quick note to echo the other reviews! A close family friend's wedding brought us to town... my parents, my sister and her husband, and me and my boyfriend. It was everyone's first time in Newport, and we couldn't have found a more perfect of a spot to spend our time. While I would imagine the building may be pretty old, you would never know it form this condo. Beautifully decorated with a modern kitchen and three good sized bed rooms. I was considering renting a full house, thinking 6 grown adults may be a little much for a single condo. But the space was perfect! Even when all of us had to get ready for the wedding at once!! As for the location. You will be thrilled having private parking (which you understand when you get there), and being located right in the heart of town. We walked everywhere, including to the cliff walk... which is a bit of exercise... but nice none the less. The water taxi picks up literally right across the street. There is some noise later in the evenings when people are walking home, but my mom made the point everyone was laughing and having fun. I guess we were in the spirit of it all! Thanks to Tricia for sharing her spot with us, what a fabulous time we had. If this is your first time in Newport, or if you are considering a rental as an alternative to a hotel... this is THE spot! We all hope to return some day!

What do girls do when they go away for a girls getaway? They eat, drink, shop, more eating, drinking, and shopping....Did I mention the shopping???? This condo was perfect...very comfortable, I felt like I was at home. It was clean, and had everything you would need without bringing it from home. The location was great. Right in the heart of everything. I would definitely rent here again. Im glad we went during the week because it wasnt wall to wall people in the shops and on the sidewalks. I felt very safe no matter what time we were out wandering around. One recommendation is to bring comfortable footwear because you will do alot of walking around to see everything... unless you rent a bike.

We were in town for a wedding over memorial day weekend. Local hotels a little pricey so a group of friends opted for a rental instead. I will definitely do this again. Having a home for the weekend made the experience so much better- morning coffee, cereal, a great living room- it felt like I was home. This condo has a central location right downtown and is a nice walk to the mansions. It's in the heart of everything. It was immaculately clean, very comfortable, well appointed with everything we needed for a great stay. There is a large grocery nearby and even a mini-mart right across the street. Parking right there for the rental car- it was really ideal. Tricia was great to work with, we had a great time and it cost us 60% less than had we stayed at the hotel. Highly recommend!!

The location was perfect - near all of the shops/restaurants in Newport, so you can leave the car and walk everywhere. The property was very spacious and well maintained, making it very comfortable for 5 adults to stay. Tricia was very helpful both in renting the property and providing all the necessary information for arrival and departure. I'd highly recommend this property to anyone looking to spend time enjoying the Newport area.

Very nice condo... very very clean, comfortable, and the owner is great to work with. The location is great- right in the heart of shops and restaurants! I didn't have a car and didn't miss it either. But if you're a light sleeper, the late night revelers might wake you up (just turn on the fan or some white noise). Also, you need to be able to walk up a flight of stairs. My bed was very comfy, and the kitchen was nicely appointed. New fixtures in kitchen and bathrooms.

We stayed here for July 4th weekend. Very clean and spacious condo. Tricia was great to deal with; responding promptly to my calls. Since the condo is on the main drag, it can be noisy late at night on holiday weekends. Luckily, the bars close early. If you wanted to, you could see the fireworks from the dining room window. But we went behind the Yacht Restoration School and sat at the end of the dock; what a beautiful view of the harbor and fire works. Since my daughter has relocated to Providence, we will definitely be back to Newport and will stay at Tricia's condo.

This is the first time I've used VRBO to rent and I was a little nervous since I've only stayed at traditional hotels. I recently stayed in Newport for a friends wedding and found this condo. The location of the condo could not have been better. We were just minutes from the wedding venue and steps from all of the shops and restaurants. The condo itself was very nicely decorated and comfortable for 6 of us. Tricia was great to work with, she was informative and always responded to my emails in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend this property to friends.
