The Hatteras room at The Sunset Inn. The Inn opened its doors to the beauty of the saltwater marsh and island life in June 2000. The honey-colored wood floors in the entrance and living area shine softly in the light that filters through the large windows.
The Inn is not your typical motel; breakfast is served on a lace-covered table every morning from 8:15 until 10 AM. You may also choose to have your morning meal in the living room or in the privacy of the extra large screened porch the Hatteras room offers.
The Hatteras Room was named for the most popular North Carolina lighthouse, The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, which was saved by relocation in 1999, inspired the room’s coastal blue walls with black & white accents and little touches of red. This 2nd level grand room offers spectacular views of the marsh & sunsets from the corner private screened porch while rocking or swinging your cares away.
The Hatteras Room’s luxurious white king sized bed with a romantic flair has become a popular request of our Sunset Beach honeymooners and couples, too. Come enjoy the Jacuzzi tub and some much needed “couple time” in The Hatteras Room.

Why the Owner Chose Sunset Beach
I grew up coming to Sunset Beach in the 1950's and finally moved here in 1991. I've worked in real estate since and was approached to list the property the Inn is now on. I decided to purchase it and build the Inn.
The Unique Benefits of this Inn, B&B
Sunset Beach is in my opinion the most beautiful island in North Carolina and a wonderful place to work and live. It is very non-commercial and that has always appealed to me. The Inn is always peaceful with only fourteen rooms and we cater to adults. It is a joy to be here.
