EMAIL us your rental inquiry (much better for us than telephoning as we do our booking online) for this much sought-after complex; the Mahana is an unusual property in that it features all direct ocean front condos, less than 75' away from the beach, at the north end of the famous Kaanapali Beach in West Maui. Built in 1975 with 216 units on 5.011 acres of tropical gardens; it offers uninterrupted views of the islands of Lanai and Molokai with dramatic sunsets. The Mahana is centrally located to shops, golf courses, historic Lahaina and exclusive Kaanapali resort areas.
This, our second condo acquisition, is on the 11th floor; features stunning granite countertops in the beautifully remodeled kitchen, with it's built-in refrigerator matching the pristine white surrounding cabinets and appliances. The tropical atmosphere of the dining area and living room add to the feel of the islands. The comfortable wrap around couch is perfect for relaxing with that favorite book on a lazy afternoon and also makes into a queen-sized bed; or sit in the deep swivel chairs and use the binoculars we purchased to watch schools of fish swim the currents looking for food in the reef. Watch sea turtles, spinner dolphins, humpback whales with their young or delight in the early morning joggers or the strong surfers out in the curls.
His and Hers sinks are set in beautiful granite in the bathroom vanity area, and give plenty of room to get ready to hit the town or beach. Step into the shower onto beautiful tiled floor. Brand new 42' flat screen TV in living room and new 37' flat screen TV in bedroom, with luxurious Cal. King-size bed with brand new Serta Trump Plush mattress set as of 6/2/11. Condo has been recently redecorated; all freshly painted walls, new artwork, brand new carpeting - among other items!
These luxurious units at the Mahana, are directly accessible to the beach and by renting from the owners, you get exactly what you see - no surprises on what your unit will look like - so don't play luck of the draw on getting a wonderful condo for your Maui vacation! And each time our guest returns and books our condo through our vrbo, we give an automatic 5% off (only one discount per booking - at time of booking). And each time we visit, we will be adding many more personal touches! And one more thing - there's NO WAITING - Our guests BYPASS the FRONT DESK in the lobby and go straight to the Kiosk to the right, to sign in and get your parking permit to put in your vehicle. That's it!! Everything else is in the condo. You never deal with the Front Desk - Ever.
The beachfront pool and lobby have been remodeled and in the pool area, there are brand new BBQ's where you can grill up that fresh Mahi Mahi from the market, or where you can sit and relax in the super-sized hot tub and sip your fresh beverage that you can purchase from the beverage/food cart just a few feet away, or bring with you. The Mahana also upgraded all of the old railings on the lanais to beautiful Plexiglas. These projects added to your safety and viewing pleasure! They've also recently put in a new tropical walk out front and planted an herb garden for your cooking and dining pleasure.
From late November/December to May, it is believed that 1,500 - 2,000 humpback whales come to the Maui water to mate, give birth and care for their young. They are very easy to spot but we will be providing binoculars in each of our condos for our guests to use! Toothed whales and dolphins are year-round regulars as are sea turtles; even look for the occasional eel, stingray or octopus! You can walk out and snorkel right in front of your condo or walk to the left between the Mahana and the Sheridan Blackrock area where you will find the absolute best snorkeling with the many amazing fish of Maui!
Whaler's Village is fun for shopping and lunch, only a 5 minute drive away (we liked Leilani's and the Hula Grill) and Lahaina is about 10 minutes drive away with many spectacular eating and shopping establishments. Our newest favorite place to eat is The Maalaea WaterFront Restaurant, with its amazing views and the food is to die for! Definitely go see the Old Lahaina Luau, it's highly recommended, and there are four championship golf courses nearby, making it a golfers dream-come-true.
You'll never want to stay anywhere else on Maui; truly a dream for newlyweds, families, couples for anniversaries or first trips to Maui. Just plain wonderful for those who wish to maximize their time together! Many couples get married on the island and you can find a lot of information for your ceremony at the mauiweddings website, and many island florists to chose from, such as the Kaanapali Romance Florist close to the Mahana. Make your wedding a memory to cherish!

with us. We've been to Maui several times before; we saw hundreds of whales and their calves putting on shows every day. We saw pods of dolphins, schools of fish and many sea turtles. What a great view right from your condo! More exciting than past visits! Your condo is beautiful and loved the sculptures and artwork!! And don't think the "fish knobs" and "shell light fixtures" went unnoticed! We enjoyed "paying it forward" with 2 bottles of liquor, beer and laundry soap. perfect - so beautifully decorated and so well stocked with everything. We loved sitting outside on the lanai watching the whales every morning and listening to the waves crashing on the shore at night, not to mention the gorgeous sunsets. Snorkeling at Kapalua Bay, whale watching from our lanai and listening to waves crash below us all night long! Ahhhhh.. This is my 5th trip to Maui, and my third stay at the Mahana. Your condo is by far the best of the best of accommodations at the Mahana! Matt and I celebrated our 1st anniversary on New Year's Eve after marrying on Baby Beach at sunset NYE 2011, and as always, Maui welcomes us back with Aloha and much comfort and relaxing experiences. Maui is the best, and we feel truly blessed to have had the opportunity to share this and all the other times here together, especially in your beautiful condo this trip. I must give my new husband, Matt, special Mahalo for finding this condo to make us feel so comfortable and pampered while here -xoxoxo. Hopefully, we will be able to return again soon. This was our second time renting from the owners and we have already booked one of their units for next year. The unit itself is very well furnished with everything you need.... down to the great beach chairs. The view is second to none.... we adopted a favorite sea turtle and loved looking for him every day. We could hardly peel ourselves away from the lanai with the beautiful views and whale action everywhere. The owners are wonderful..... they pay a lot of attention to their units, and always ask if we spot anything that is an issue or suggestion. I mentioned via email that the toaster seemed to be on the fritz as it started smoking when we put our bagel in.... I told them it was no emergency, and we were using the oven instead. Just wanted to let them know so at some point they could attend to it, and they were so responsive that they had a new toaster delivered that very same day. Talk about exceeding expectations! My husband and I had yet another lovely Maui vacation, and we thank Russ and Carrie for sharing their wonderful unit. Mahalo!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

for letting us use your beautiful apartment. We truly enjoyed spending our 40th wedding anniversary on Maui. Did manage to drive to Hana and stay overnight at a great hotel overlooking a black beach. We finally made it back to your wonderful condo. As always the view makes us speechless when we first walk through the door. Lovely job on the reno's. Once again we were treated to some spectacular whale shows from your Beautiful Lanai while we enjoyed our morning coffee. The sunsets were works of art. WOW! This condo is absolutely perfect. It's a nicely decorated and upgraded 1 bedroom with a lanai. And the views are absolutely stunning! The Mahana has the best views in Maui, you cannot get any more ocean front than these condos. There are floor to ceiling windows, and huge mirrors so you are able to see the ocean from every angle. The location is great too as it's a little quieter than the chaos that is in the heart of Kaanapali. You are only about 2 miles from the hustle and bustle of Whalers Village. Its about a 40 minute walk on the beach or paved boardwalk, and there is also a shuttle at the hotel two doors over. There is a grocery store down the street to get all of your groceries (or you can hit Costco on your way from the airport). There is a fully stocked bar and many guest "pay it forward" as we did. Dukes is at the resort next door and we loved the food there. We didn't get to do as much exploring as we normally do, as we brought our 1 year old. Which is why finding a good condo with an amazing view was so important to us. This place did not disappoint! The owners are also very responsive and really nice, which is so important when renting so far from home. I emailed the owner quite a few times with random questions and they always responded within about 30 minutes! There were other condos that I inquired about that literally took weeks to get back to me. Between the response time and the amazing views you can't beat this place. We can't wait to come back!!!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
