Welcome. If you are looking at our home it's because you want luxury while you are vacationing in the Mountains. This is perhaps one of the most beautiful homes in Tahoe Donner, one of only two with a circular driveway to make it really easy to get the kids and family in and out after a long day of skiing. Enjoy a beautiful, open floor plan w/ vaulted Douglas fir ceilings. Gourmet kitchen with 2 ovens, 2 dishwashers, 2 disposals in sinks, wine fridge, warming drawer, Thermador cook top, meile espresso/coffee maker. Great dining room w/ awesome wet bar! You really will not want to leave! People passing by will slow down and look. You’ll have plenty of space at 3,700 sqft.
This is the first time our family has put the home up for a ski lease, and we hope to find a few families that will make coming up to the house a yearly tradition in the Summer, Spring, Fall, or Winter. This home has been fully furnished by a local Bay Area interior designer to express the Mountain Motif throughout the home, so while you are in the mountains you can still enjoy the comfort and relaxing in luxury. Our 3,700 + square foot, Non-Smoking home features a majestic sitting room upstairs with a beautiful stone fireplace, vaulted ceilings, leather sofas, and hardwood floors.
Upstairs – Gourmet kitchen, sitting area - enjoy a perfect floor plan that makes it very easy to enjoy dinners, talking, and socializing. Kitchen overlooks sitting room with fireplace and beautiful view, adjacent is the bar to enjoy cocktails, and a formal dining area to gather around for a great dinner. If you are going to entertain, or simply have multiple families you’ll fully enjoy and appreciate having two dishwashers, stoves, and a warming drawer. Meiele espresso/mocha machine is something to enjoy in the mornings! There is bar seating and all appliances are stainless steel.
Master Suite. The upstairs master suite with a new luxurious King bed, custom comforter and pillows, has a private bathroom with an oversized jetted tub, separate dual shower, and a vanity. Enjoy a ’42 inch plasma television flat screen in the master bedroom, surround sound system, & computer. Walk-in-closet. Enjoying the master bedroom also enables you to get away from it all, as it’s the only room upstairs.
Downstairs is family room, guest master suite, and two additional rooms. Children’s room. Children’s room has two bunk beds, trundle bed, and single, this is the perfect room to put the kids in. Big television just for them as well! No.2 Guest room offers two double beds (parents with two small children for family #3). You'll enjoy easy access to private hot-tub located downstairs. The family room leads out to a sunny full-length deck facing the forest. Family room has card/poker table, library of movies, and a large fireplace. Guest Master Suite. The third bedroom is a lovely private room, appointed with a cozy and comfortable queen bed and has a full bathroom, with a great Jacuzzi tube to enjoy for after skiing.
Our house is the perfect location for skiing, with Squaw Valley, Sugar Bowl, Northstar, and Alpine Meadows all within 15-20 minutes. The drive into Reno to enjoy the casinos and shows is about a 45 minute drive. The Tahoe Donner Cross Country Center with its gorgeous and extensive trail system and the Tahoe Donner Ski Area are also only minutes away.
Additionally, our home has a CIRCULAR DRIVEWAY AND is located in a well PLOWED ROAD! There's room for 6 cars (2 car garage) in the garage and driveway combined. Circular driveway makes it incredibly easy to jump in the car and just drive away.
Don't forget you'll also have Tahoe Donner guest passes for the gym and other snow activities (discounts) such as snow play for kids 3 -12 years of age. If you are the outdoors type, right out our back door there is a hiking trail leading to miles of forest and to Alder Creek. Fly fishing is located nearby, and there are plenty of mountain biking trails. Additionally, you have access to the wonderful amenities of Tahoe Donner - the private Marina and Beach Club at Donner Lake, the exclusive Trout Creek Recreation Center with fitness center and two swimming pools (THE FITNESS CENTER, SLEDDING HILL AND ONE POOL AS WELL AS SAUNA AND OUTDOOR HOT TUB ALL STAY OPEN IN THE WINTER!), the Northwoods outdoor tennis center with pool and Northwoods Grill, the newly upgraded Tahoe Donner Golf Course (in beautiful shape the summer of 2006), and private Tahoe Donner Equestrian Center that offers lessons and rides with over 40 horses - at guest fee rates.

Why the Owner Chose Tahoe Donner
Second marriages can be tough sometimes...this one was. As a result we tried to find a great place to take the kids and start a fresh new life, the kids had always wanted to go to Tahoe, and we had found skiing a great way to distract ourselves from the pressures of work and city life. In the summer it was a great way to spend it outdoors, enjoying hiking, swimming at the Lakes, dinners outdoors...on and on... We were with our youngest daughter when we purchased the house, at the time she was only 11 years old. When we came across this home that had been built for a local trucker woman that owned an antique shop downtown we fell in love with it. Since then there have been wonderful memories with all the kids, friends and family. BUT the kids have grown up and left. With all three kids away at school its time to allow somebody else to enjoy the home.

Where to start. Jazz at Moody's. Legend says that Paul McCartney played at the bistro, which serves a great burger and has good wines. Or dinner at Cottonwoods with a blanket overlooking downtown Truckee. The Lodge in Tahoe Donner! The choices are endless. Concerts, great shopping. If you are into Yoga, we love Bigram Yoga about 15 minutes away...
Plows come through every morning. Only in extreme winter storms is there a delay for the plows but it is rare. About a 10 minute drive to club, 15 minutes down to Donner Summit Road and freeway. Look

My name is Margot, my husbands name is Mike and we have an 8 year old boxer named Duke. We are life-long residents of the Bay Area and have always been attracted to the outdoors and the fun of skiing. We began going to Tahoe as part of our getaways from the city life. We have four children as part of our second marriage, this perhaps was one of the main reasons to get to Tahoe - the kids! They love it. You can't beat a 2.5 hour drive up into the woods with a little break at in-out-burger.
