This log home was not only exactly as described, but we found it to have exceeded our expectations. The amenities of the home, the views of the Smoky Mountains and Maggie Valley, and the streams and waterfalls of the gated Smoky Mountain Retreat were very special and much appreciated. The communication with the Owner and the Management Company was excellent and we would highly recommend this experience to others. Our family had a great Spring Break trip and we hope to have another opportunity to return to Soaring Eagle and Maggie Valley! Thank you Kim for sharing your home with us!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: So happy you enjoyed our home....hoping you come back for a another visit in the future.

We stayed in October and November this year and had a great thanksgiving, everything is great and there is plenty of room even though there is only two of us. We will be retiring to the area in a few years and have spent the time during our stay enjoying the area and finding we're we will stay and Waynesville is the place. Only a couple of small issues; the ice maker didn't work and I reported it to Tammy and it still didn't work in November also the master bed mattress has some dips as this was the only one we slept on so I can't speak for the others. We will be back next year at the same time if available. Thanks for allowing us in your home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Doyle, I am sorry to hear about the mattress and ice maker. This is the first I heard of the problem with the ice maker and have already called a service representative to address the issue. I hope that Suzanne arranged to have ice delivered to you so that you were not inconvenienced. There is a Temperpedic mattress topper on the bed that can be removed if you wanted a firmer mattress. I wish you had called so that I could have advised you. It is always a pleasure having you in our home.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2004
About the owner: Licensed real estate broker in South Florida and Western North Carolina. We own rental investment properties in both states. We purchased this property as our second home and future retirement property.
Why the Owner Chose Maggie Valley:
I have been traveling and summering in North Carolina for almost 50 years. My parents have retired to the area, my son attended overnight and wilderness camps here and I introduced my husband to the Smoky Mountains over 25 years ago. When we decided to purchase a second home, the mountains were our natural choice and we especially wanted to be in Haywood County for its airport access, 6 local golf courses, Historic Downtown Waynesville and proximity to the National Parks.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
This is the one place we can come to were we can immediately relax. We enjoy weekends playing golf, hiking, walking the town, or just watching the birds and and sunsets from our porches. When my son visits with friends they are our doing adventure sports such as rafting, mountain biking, or canyoneering or just having fun picking wild blueberries on the Parkway, playing mini golf or canoeing on Lake Junaluska....there's always the Beer Tour in Asheville as well!
