My husband and I, along with 3 other couples, recently stayed in Cecelia's home for 3 nights over our wedding weekend. The house was lovely, well-equipped, comfortable, and conveniently located. All of the bedrooms were very private, and the common area was large, open, and great for conversation! Cecelia met us at the house on Thursday to give us the keys, provide us with a tour, and answer any questions. She made us feel comfortable and was not at all overbearing as a host. I've had previous vacation rental experiences where it seemed like the owner was constantly checking in on us! Cecelia made herself available by phone should we need her (we didn't), but gave us our space to relax and enjoy our vacation. The pictures of the home are very accurate! It is actually even nicer than it looked online. It being our wedding weekend, my husband and I stayed in the guesthouse, which is truly lovely. It is equipped with a small kitchenette, a living area, a TV, and a bathroom with shower. We never used the TV or the kitchenette, but if you really wanted some privacy from the rest of your group, you could spend most of your trip in the guesthouse! The kitchen had everything you could possibly want. I've never stayed in a vacation rental with such a well-equipped kitchen. Aside from all of your standard dishes and glasses, there were spices, coffee, cookbooks, and more. The laundry room had every possible cleaning supply. We were all very impressed! The house is situated in a lovely neighborhood. The homes are cute and well-maintained and the neighborhood is safe. We walked and jogged in the neighborhood almost every day. On weekends, it is easy to get almost anywhere in the city within 15 minutes - especially to downtown or to north Austin. One thing that was so great about this property is that it is dog friendly. We brought our boxer mix with us and Cecelia was completely welcoming of him and told us about some good places for dog walking in the neighborhood. She even had dog bowls in the laundry room! Just 2 quick cautions for potential guests. The deck is amazing and a great place to enjoy your morning coffee, but don't plan on enjoying a glass of wine outside after 10pm, as due to the Austin rental house ordinance, you will need to come inside. The home is very close to other houses, so noise carries! Also, the back yard is not fully fenced. Good to know if your dog (or child) is a runner! We would definitely stay here in the future.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners.

I grew up 2 blocks away so I knew this was a great neighborhood. This was an excellent location for the 7 of us to stay as we celebrated my dad's 90th birthday. It was very easy for all of us to walk between the 2 houses. The kitchen was large and well appointed, the long kitchen island was great for buffets, the guys loved the big TV to watch the Longhorns play football, and there was still room for people to find a quiet spot to read. My husband and I stayed in the bungalow - it was great! Plenty of room for 2. We walked to "Upper Crust" one day, one of my favorite places when I visit my parents. Yes, the cinnamon rolls are fantastic! This listing is better than the description, photos were spot on, every thing was clean and tidy when we arrived. We have stayed in several VRBOs and this is one of the best! Cecelia was very easy to work with - will keep this place in mind for our next family gathering.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This was such a great place to stay! The house is so nicely decorated - lots of extras to make you feel at home ie. pillows, throws, bedding, towels and also great lighting. There was plenty of room for a small group, we had 7. Lots of parking available too. The house was spotless and well maintained. It had everything we could possible need and more - bug spray, soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc. added a nice touch. The description and pictures are very accurate but it is even nicer once we got here. We especially enjoyed hanging out at the pool during the day, with several rafts supplied by the owner. The owner was easy to work with and available if we needed anything. I would definitely return for another stay here! It was like Home away from Home.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

Our family of 7 stayed at this "oasis" for my son's June wedding. It was very spacious and comfortable, with plenty of bathrooms and wonderful kitchen facilities. One couple in our family stayed in the "cabin". The rest of us stayed in the house. The house layout offered privacy. It was an ideal housing situation for keeping our family together and herding everyone to the wedding activities. The kitchen was well equipped and the island was perfect for setting out food for our bunch. My son and his groomsmen even used our "home away from home" for getting ready and for their photos before the wedding. This home was ever so much more comfortable than a hotel. It was even more spacious and attractive than pictures can represent. The deck provided outside relaxation and the pool was refreshing even on the warm days. Parking was very adequate. The neighborhood is attractive and very accessible to the Austin surrounds. Another plus - this home is close to "Upper Crust Bakery" (45th St. & Burnett), which arguably has the best cinnamon rolls in Austin! The owners were great to work with and we definitely hope to stay there again.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My family (four of us) recently stayed at this home during a brief visit to Austin for a wedding. The home is spectacular; very reflective of the pictures on the website, and the owners were helpful. The BEST equipped kitchen I have found in my many rental visits! Very helpful if you are cooking some of your meals. Flowers and landscaping were stunning, we enjoyed just lounging around the pool area and enjoying the landscaping! We had two small dogs and they also enjoyed a wonderful time in the home and going for short neighborhood walks. Truly delightful to see the diverse neighborhood, and the landscaping on our jaunts. Great value for the money, central location, close to downtown - highly recommended!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners.

Five adults stayed here and five adults were so happy they did...Amazing home with such a neat decor and amazing setup....we had so much room to just hangout. Home was in perfect area just far enough from downtown. Easy to get to and from Interstate and to all the fun things Austin has to offer. We came to go to Austin City Limits, Johnny Cash Walk the Line, amazing venue. Anyway this house was perfect with a small store close enough for essentials and the flowers were amazing...didn't get to use the pool, maybe next time. Artwork throughout the home was awesome and some was done by the owner....cool...it was a PERFECT VACATIONRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I stayed here with several coworkers for about 10 days and couldn't have been happier with the house. With beautiful architecture and decor throughout the house and the back apartment, it's an extremely well-maintained and comfortable space. My team and I had very busy work days during our Austin stay but the home was the perfect oasis for us at the end of the day -- we all took advantage of the back deck for some relaxation time in the evenings. I also had the chance to explore the neighborhood and was pleased to find cool vintage shops and several wine bars popular with the locals. I hope to return!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks Sloane, glad you had a great time. Please let me know if we can help you again! Cecelia

The price / house ratio for this is just great. The kitchen was stocked better than any I've ever rented, it was really like a home away from home. And the guest house in the back was great for my parents who appreciate some privacy. The owner was very friendly and accomodating in our requests and questions, and we had very relaxing evenings sitting out on the back porch in the evenings. If I do rent a house in Austin again, we're sure to check the availability of this one first!Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a great time in Austin and the house was great - the pictures are very accurate! The guest house in the back was perfect for the teenagers with us - and this allowed the adults some refuge too (to have some quiet time in the house). There was a small issue with plumbing in the back guest house, but the owners fixed the problem very fast - they were extremely attentive. The pool is a plus - the kids just got in it for a short period of time, as it was a little chilly (but what do you expect in October). The house was very comfortable and the area was just charming. We brought our dogs with us, and we really enjoyed walking them around the neighborhood. Most nights we went downtown to eat out, but the last night we grilled out in the backyard - the kitchen was easy to prep and cook in - and the grill worked great! Downtown is just a short drive away. The location for this house is great! If we are in Austin again, I would happily rent at this house again!! I can especially imagine renting in the summer and having a BBQ in the back yard and having a fun day swimming in the pool!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Our family enjoyed a wonderful Christmas in this lovely home. The owners were great and we especially appreciated the festive holiday decorations that truly made our family celebration very special. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to prepare and serve dinner for 12 people, even Christmas dishes! We would definitely rent this home again. The central location is ideal and this area is great. I grew up in Austin and have always loved this neighborhood. I highly recommend this property. The back patio is lovely and the guest cabin is another great feature. Hope to stay in this home again in the future.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My 3 college roommates and I stayed at this wonderful home for our 20 yr UT reunion...and it was great! Very comfortable for the 4 of us...we all had our own bedroom and there was plenty of common area for us to talk about old times. We did not really use the kitchen as we ate out, but the coffee pot worked well and there were plenty of wine glasses! The location was too perfect, as it was near campus and near all of our old favorite places to go. It is really a cute house, sooo Austin and full of fun decor. We all discussed we would stay there again. I'd suggest it to anyone reading this.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

This home met our needs perfectly. It is has been remodeled and has fabulous artwork and pieces throughout it- quite the find for a rental! Coffee is only 1.5 miles away. The pool is not heated but the deck is beautiful-especially compared to the neighbors' backyards! Wonderful central location, but car is recommended. The owners are thoughtful, considerate and very helpful with local information.Recommended for: Girls getaway

Wow. This truly could not have been a more perfect set-up for our family who came in from France to attend our son's Bar Mitzvah. Perfectly located with every amenity necessary...and a few more to boot! Cecilia was a lovely host, meeting me & taking care to show me all we would need to know. The lay-out of the home allowed the 8 people staying there plenty of space to hang comfortably together. When someone needed alone time, there was always an easy way to find a quiet spot to read. Beautifully decorated with an artistic eye to detail. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone. But be careful, you may never want to leave!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My family recently spent a week at this cozy, comfortable and inviting house while my son attended a UT football camp. The layout of the house provides room for everyone to have their own space while still being under one roof. The backhouse setup with bdrm, bath and sitting area was perfect for our older kids who wanted privacy. The listing descriptions and photos are truly accurate but still can not project the charm and warmth of this home. The home is clean and well maintained, with a pool that was refreshing on hot Austin days. We would highly recommend Uchi for Sushi; a bit spendy but unique and delicious! Cecelia is terrific to work with and our family hopes to visit again next year! Thanks so much fcr allowing us to use your beautiful home Cecelia and Steve.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

The house was far and away more than we could have expected. The pictures on VRBO do not do the house justice! The house provided spacious accommodations and had a very open feel which was great. I loved that the kitchen opened to the rest of the house - a big plus! Let me just say the kitchen was exceptionally equipped, which I comically did not expect. I had packed various cooking utensils and basic ingredients but everything I needed was already there! Which, in our experience with renting houses, is rare. The pool was a blessing under the intense Austin sun and was well used. We will definitely recommend your house to friends and hopefully be back for a trip soon!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We felt very much at home & had all the amenities we needed and more! Hi Cecelia, We really enjoyed the house this weekend. I'm glad the rain held off, and we were able to enjoy the pool. We went out to 6th Street Friday night, had a big breakfast Saturday morning before we explored Turkey Creek (which we loved), went to Kerbey Lane for lunch, and then grilled out Saturday night. The house is so well decorated and everyone kept complimenting on the decor and style. The group especially loved the artwork. I wanted to take home the red canvas painting above the fire place in the front sitting room! Thank you so much for making our trip to Austin so much fun! Quaint neighborhood with ambiance. House size was perfect for the 8 of us. Never knew the pool was above ground! Owners are so kind and friendly. Cost was very reasonable and well worth it! I meant to send this follow up last week. What a great house! It worked out perfectly for our golf weekend. Plenty of room. We all wondered, has the house always been that structure (meaning the high ceilings in back) or was it altered at some point? I assume the cabin was originally a garage? Really cool interior decoration. Patrick T.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
