Casa #1: Sleeps six, and has three bedrooms (one queen, one full, and one twin bedded room), library, full kitchen, two full baths, central heating, wood-burning stove, two decks, and a balcony that overlooks the pool and snow-capped mountains.
Casa #2: Sleeps four, and has two bedrooms (one queen and one twin bedded room), one-and-one-half baths, full kitchen, and two decks overlooking the Maipo River, with spectacular views and the soothing sounds of the rushing water.
Both houses are beautifully designed and decorated, constructed in local materials, with exposed beams, large windows, decorated with colorful, casual, hand-crafted furniture and include the best mattresses and highest quality linens. Adorned with fresh flowers from our gardens and fabrics from around the world. Each house can be rented separately or both together.
Wander around our quaint mountain village, walk to local restaurants, a local winery, explore El Morado National Park, go hiking and rafting, or simply relax on our two-acre paradise with awe-inspiring views, huge pool and hot tub, luscious gardens, fruit orchards, situated right on the rushing River Maipo, on our own sandy beach with hammocks and secluded picnic area.

......We just got back from our terrific two weeks in Chile and I wanted to get in touch to let you know how much we enjoyed staying at Puertazul and how much we appreciated your efforts in making our stay so memorable. First of all, your property really is a little bit of paradise with the beautifully maintained gardens, the running river, the pool and hot tub, the numerous little "getaways" on the property for reading, relaxing, etc., the comfortable house itself, and the wonderful Toyita. As someone who has done a fair amount of travelling, I have to say that our week at Puertazul just may be the highlight of our various vacations. But in addition to the property itself, I also am very grateful for your guidance and tips as to things to do and your making Amaranta's services available to us. It is that combination of the property itself and your desire to make sure that your guests are taking full advantage of all that the Maipo has to offer, that makes your property unique and a real gem.
As I'm sure you know, Amaranta is invaluable and was so attentive and helpful. The horseback riding, the dinner with Mariano, Nancy's barbecue, the tours of the vineyards, etc. all add up to a truly great vacation.
....... I’m not sure what refugio means in Chilean Spanish. But Puertazul for us is a Refuge… A retreat into a welcoming luxuriant garden, comfortable home, the now accustomed sound of rushing water, time to read, dine, reflect, doze… We love the fresh morning air, lazy warm afternoons, evening paseos, flowers, We have used every dish, pot, linen and tool in the kitchen. We baked, barbecued, sautéed, and sauced….And then there is smiling, incomparable Toyita, Nancy’s “best in the world” empanadas and her delicious honey – perfect with the chilled Montes Sauvignon Blanc, the hot tub and the stars. ....... Puertazul! What a great place to stay. A wonderful place to relax and enjoy the pool, hot tub, views, sounds of the river and wonderful gardens. Nancy is a great cook and very accommodating. Lemon pie – sweet! Quiche de Verduras delivered fresh, hot & early for breakfast. Also, the empanadas were scrumptious as well. I fell in love with the awesome snow capped mountain views, watching the condors soaring, falling asleep to the sounds of the rushing river, the wonderful people in our village who bake their own bread, make the best cheese and honey. I love our gardens and fruit trees and the jam we make from our own fruit. Come and share my paradise!
