Guest Comments:
......We just got back from our terrific two weeks in Chile and I wanted to get in touch to let you know how much we enjoyed staying at Puertazul and how much we appreciated your efforts in making our stay so memorable. First of all, your property really is a little bit of paradise with the beautifully maintained gardens, the running river, the pool and hot tub, the numerous little "getaways" on the property for reading, relaxing, etc., the comfortable house itself, and the wonderful Toyita. As someone who has done a fair amount of travelling, I have to say that our week at Puertazul just may be the highlight of our various vacations. But in addition to the property itself, I also am very grateful for your guidance and tips as to things to do and your making Amaranta's services available to us. It is that combination of the property itself and your desire to make sure that your guests are taking full advantage of all that the Maipo has to offer, that makes your property unique and a real gem.
As I'm sure you know, Amaranta is invaluable and was so attentive and helpful. The horseback riding, the dinner with Mariano, Nancy's barbecue, the tours of the vineyards, etc. all add up to a truly great vacation.
....... I’m not sure what refugio means in Chilean Spanish. But Puertazul for us is a Refuge… A retreat into a welcoming luxuriant garden, comfortable home, the now accustomed sound of rushing water, time to read, dine, reflect, doze… We love the fresh morning air, lazy warm afternoons, evening paseos, flowers, We have used every dish, pot, linen and tool in the kitchen. We baked, barbecued, sautéed, and sauced….And then there is smiling, incomparable Toyita, Nancy’s “best in the world” empanadas and her delicious honey – perfect with the chilled Montes Sauvignon Blanc, the hot tub and the stars. N&R, J&J, M&A, Portand, Oregon, USA
....... Puertazul! What a great place to stay. A wonderful place to relax and enjoy the pool, hot tub, views, sounds of the river and wonderful gardens. Nancy is a great cook and very accommodating. Lemon pie – sweet! Quiche de Verduras delivered fresh, hot & early for breakfast. Also, the empanadas were scrumptious as well. We made our way to Banos Colinas and soaked in the salt water hot springs. What a treat, luxuriating whilst taking in the splendor of the Andes. Chile – a fabulous place. H&S, BC, Canada
........ A wonderful retreat in a beautiful setting! The carefully tended gardens were a delight - and the fresh flowers in the rooms a bonus. We all enjoyed the pools and tubs – and comfortable quarters. M&D, Alberta, Canada
........ Great family gathering in a beautiful and peaceful place. Loved the accommodations – and had a wonderful horseback ride in the mountains – quite the views. Beautiful grounds. We hiked, went horseback riding and rafting. We especially enjoyed our Chilean BBQ prepared by Nancy On New Years Eve! J. St. Louis Mo.

What a wonderful home! Thank you for the perfect setting - my family and I enjoyed the gorgeous roses in the garden, fabulous pool, bubbly hot tub, stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, clean and spacious bathrooms...I could go on and on. We had terrific vacation and enjoyed the village, the people and especially the house and the grounds. The sound of the river lulled us to sleep. We look forward to staying there again!

If I could describe our stay here at Villa Puertazul in gushing prose, I would. Alas, I'm relegated to words like wonderful, magnificent and delightful. We are two couples on a one month adventure in South America and this is our first stop. If we could, we would spend the whole month here. Thanks to Amaranta and Toyita for the their help, and to Judy for making her beautiful home available to us.

Lovely place, perfect for relaxing after or between hectic city visits. The views of the mountains, the trees and the sounds of the river and the birds all made for an ideal chill-out spot. Thanks to Toyita for her friendliness, despite our hopeless Spanish.

Our time at Villa Puertazul has been so very relaxing and enjoyable. We have used it as the launching pad for exploring the Maipo Valley and the Colchagua Wineries. We really enjoyed the food and wine. Thanks to Amaranta and Ignacio for their advice and great services. And for Toyita for her service and understanding. We will return!

Our group was received with open arms and happy hearts. The details and warm-friendly touches that were found all around the rooms of the houses and yard was more than expected. The manager was genuinely caring to ensure that we had everything we needed. The homemade jams were spectacular and the garden was inspirational.

The property is absolutely breathtaking and so very peaceful, the villa exceeded all our expectations. It is so refreshing to visit a place where everything is homegrown and made with love.. Toyita took care of everything we needed and was wonderful to have around. Nancy made us wonderful BBQ's and breakfast which was perfect because it can be difficult to eat out with a baby. We cannot wait to come back with friends and family and show them this beautiful place we were so lucky to find..

Not sure how to express the wonderful time we have had at beautiful Villa Puertazul - the service, the welcome and the atmosphere. We enjoyed the winery tour, a few hikes and lots of sunshine and the friendship of "Ginger" the cat. We loved it all. Special thanks to Toyita for being her wonderful self and Nancy, the amazing baker and a tribute to all business women..

Our stay at Villa Puertazul is one I will never forget, better than any of us could have ever dreamed. From the moment we arrived on this beautiful property to the day of our departure, we have seen and done things alot of us never thought we would do. Rafting on the River Maipo, horseback riding in the Andes, simply lounging poolside in the beautiful villa, it was a paradise brought to life by the wonderful people who made our stay so special. Muchos, muchos gracias...

We have never been surrounded by such a great orchard - we so enjoyed all the different fruit and nut trees. Apple, walnut, pear, almond, apricot, pomegranate.... The walk down to the river is a very neat and pleasant experience and hearing the sounds of the river and having such a beautiful view of the mountains and river makes you feel relaxed and like you are in paradise. The rafting at Cascades was so much fun. The guide was a riot but you also felt safe and it was a great opportunity to see the mountains from a different perspective. Our last day we went horseback riding in the Andes, which was an experience that was truly memorable and something we will never forget. We were thrilled. The horses and mules each had their own personalities, but we always felt completely safe. The classic Chilean BBQ at the quincho in the mountains was delicious and relaxing.

The beauty of the grounds, the terrific weather, and the comfortable villas were all very much appreciated. After every day trip, we all felt like we were coming home. Our thanks to Toyita for her quiet attention to detail. We loved the flowers she provided, both outdoors in the lovely gardens and those she picked for our casas. Her jams and marmelades were terrific too. Thanks also to Nancy for her bread, rolls, cheese and pies. We really enjoyed the barbecue she and Antonio provided. We looked forward to her treats each day. Finally, thanks to Amaranta and Ignacio who provided invaluable assistance and advice for activities and directions. Their tasting menu was superb with the freshest ingredients and impeccable wine pairings. We so enjoyed the evening and the stories and information shared. All of you made us feel very welcome in your truly beautiful country.
