Doesn't matter if you are headed up the mountain to ski or prefer the outdoor life in any season, this little retreat is the perfect spot in Big Trees Village -- just above Arnold, right around the bend from Big Trees State Park and an easy drive to Bear Valley Ski Resort.
It has everything you need for that rustic vacation in the Sierra, but with all the conveniences to make life easy. Beautifully clad with knotty pine, the kitchen and dining area just need the smell of bacon and eggs to make you swoon.
You can sleep eight mountain hikers or just a snuggly couple looking for some quiet time. Two bedrooms have queen beds and the third has two twins, the sofa sleeper in the great room has a great view of the wood stove. All the electronics are there if you want to catch a movie or your favorite TV program -- or just plug in your iPod and hear how much better your tunes sound below the pine boughs.
The deck beckons, for naps or meals or a quiet read. This is a level lot so you can come and go without much effort in the winter snows. You'll have a hard time loading up the pets at the end of your stay, this is their idea of heaven as well! Sleeps 8 people types, no smoking please.
