Apartment description - 2 bedroom newly remodeled apartment with 1 bathroom. One full bathroom, with shower, toilet, sink. Complete kitchen including oven, microwave oven and full-size refrigerator. There is a balcony off the living room.
All rooms with ceiling fans. Master bedroom has 150 x 200 cm bed (queen size). Second bedroom has queen bed and one single bed (90 x 190 cm). 200 x 150 cm sofa-bed in living area.
Location - The apartment is on Dizdariye Çesmesi street, by Dizdariye Cami (mosque), 400 meters from the Blue Mosque, in the Sultanahmet neighborhood.
Transportation - From Ataturk airport this apartment can be reached by metro + tramway or of course by taxi. The apartment is at about 350 metres to the Çemberlitas tramway station.
Management - We are a small family company. Lauren is from Dallas, TX and Fernando is from Barcelona, Spain. We currently run 16 holiday apartments in Barcelona, 2 furnished homes in Dallas, TX, and 7 holiday apartments in Istanbul. We apply our same high standards in every country.
We love Istanbul and we hope you will also love to stay in our fourth unit in Sultanahamet and the sixth in this incredible city. Elif and Marco take care of our Istanbul apartments and they will take care of your stay.
Noise levels - The apartment has double glazing. The location is quiet but there is a loud nightly call to prayer 1 hour before sunrise.
Occupancy - The apartment is ideally suited for 5 people. It can sleep up to 6.
Check-in and check-out - The apartment will be ready for you at 16:30 for occupancy. You can drop your bags and get your keys from 12:00 (noon). Our greeter will be at the apartment to greet you and hand you the keys. The check-out time is 11:30am. You can request reserved early check-in or late check-out for a small fee, subject to availability. There is no extra fee for nighttime check-in.

Great Apt in Great Location

A group of 4 spend 3 nights in this wonderful apartment. Marcos was there to great us upon arrival. The apartment was clean and comfortable. The location is great. Steps away from Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. We walked everywhere, down to the ferries and to the Grand Baazar. I would highly recommend eating at Faros which is a restaurant on the main street. Be aware there is a before sunrise call to prayer and the mosque speakers are very close to the main bedroom. The only reason I did not give this five stars was because the beds are a bit stiff and there was a small leak in the bathroom from one of the pipes. We did not complain because we were happy just being in Istanbul and were away from the apartment most of the day. Thanks for a great stay!

My husband and I stayed 9 nights in September 2011. We had a great time in Istanbul, and one of the reasons that we could enjoy our vacation was definitely to this apartment. Adequately bright, nice breeze, spacious, comfortable beds, cozy sofa, and morning prayer call......, we enjoyed everything of it. Ah, not to forget stress free speed of Wi-fi internet access. We started to feel it as our second home. We were so lucky to choose here. I see this listing description and photos were accurate, and Marco, the caretaker, was very helpful. The apartment is located in the very touristic place, but local surroundings. On the ground floor, there is a small grocery store we can buy Bread and cheese for breakfast. Most of the old city tourist attractions are within walking distance including Cemberlitas Hamami. We asked airport pick-up through the owner. Due to the bad traffic, the driver was late for an hour, and that was tiring after 13 hours flight. But he took us to the front of the apartment, where Marco had been waiting to greet us. Considering the stone paved streets, I think it was a right choice to ask the airport pick-up. This is really a good choice, and I would definitely recommend to my friends and relatives.

We had a family reunion in Turkey last summer where my fiance and I (living in US), my sister (living in Europe) and parents (living in Iran) stayed in this lovely apartment for a week. The apartment is beautiful and clean just like the photos. It was roomy and comfortable for 5 of us and the location was perfect. The owners and caretakers were nice and very accommodating. We had a great time there and I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family. My only suggestion for the owners is to include map/directions in Turkish for local cab drivers. Our cab driver had a very hard time finding the apartment even with the map and directions that I had printed out. We had to stop and ask many times before we finally found the place.

In May 2011, my family and I (6 people in total) stayed at the Binbirdirek apartment for 8 nights. If you want a convenient location to all the major tourist attractions, you can't go wrong with this place. Although it's very close to the tourist attractions, the street is quiet (except for the call to prayer 1 hour before sunrise). Honestly, after the 4th day, I didn't even hear the call anymore. The grocery store downstairs was a lifesaver. We cooked a lot of our meals in the kitchen which was small but had all the necessary appliances and utensils. The caretakers, Elif and Marco, were responsive when we had a problem with the hot water. I called them in the morning and Marco came in the afternoon.

We just got back from a week long trip to Istanbul and stayed at this condo. It was in a fantastic location and within walking distance to all of the big sites and the tram. We didn't have to take a taxi the entire time we were in the city. We also found several great restaurants nearby that were not so touristy. There are a lot of big hills in the city and this apartment is on the 3rd floor with no elevator, so start your stairmaster training now! I would highly recommend staying here if this is your first trip to Istanbul. Make sure to check the guest book for recommendations from other travels about what is nearby.

I stayed in this apartment along with 2 others very comfortably for 4 days. The bedrooms and large and spacious and the small living room is great for gathering. The owner was very easy to deal with and arranged transit to the airport. If you choose to take the tram from the airport it is not hard to find but may be best to have the owner meet you at a local landmark for ease of location. The beds are comfortable and the apartment is clean. The third floor location provides a nice view of the Mosque located right next door. Be prepared for a call to prayer early in the A.M. All in the location for sightseeing during the day will be hard to beat along with the nearby grocery store. For night life you must take the tram or taxi across the Bosphorus. The first time can be a bit tricky but after that it's is very simple to navigate. Stay here and Istanbul will reward you.

Our family of six (2 adults, 4 children ages 18, 14, 11 and 6) traveled to Turkey in Aug 2009 and split our visit between this flat and another also managed by Marco and Elif. Both flats far exceeded our expectations, were conveniently located (within walking distance) to popular tourist attractions and restaurants, and were very homey and comfortable. Having a great flat to "come home to" at night had a huge impact on the overall success of our vacation. It was our first experience with Turkey and our first experience with using private rentals rather than hotels while traveling and it was so wonderful that I hope to be able to repeat both in the near future. This is a great place for you to start your adventure, too. You'll love it!
