Our family has been vacationing and renting cottages on PEI for over 15 years and the Golden Summer Cottage certainly has everything we look for in a cottage as well it was "spotless". The cottage itself has an exceptional layout with high quality amenities and many extras that provide everything you need so you can really enjoy your vacation in comfort. We love the privacy and peacefulness of the location. The large windows, front deck and wonderful screened in porch allow for terrific relaxation and beautiful views of the lake. For naturalists and bird watchers the lake and surrounding area are abundant with wildlife and we spent many hours with binoculars in hand. We especially enjoyed paddles on the lake with the canoe provided as well as the many visits to Greenwich National park to bike, hike and enjoy the beach (Park Pass provided). The cottage is located just a 5 min drive into the little town of Morell which provided everything in the way groceries and such we needed. We made several trips to the bakery and the roadside Mussel stand for serve yourself mussels, potatoes and sweet corn. We would certainly recommend this property both for the cottage itself and its location. We have been renting cottages through the VRBO website for several years now and have had nothing but positive experiences. We had a wonderful 2 weeks in August at this beautiful cottage. The cottage is very new, clean and exceptionally equipped with high quality beds, linens and kitchen ware. It has a gorgeous view out over St Peters Lake to the dunes and sea. Short drive or canoe to amazing Lakeside Beach.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2006
About the owner: My wife Suzanne and I have been coming to Prince Edward Island for many years as performers with the Charlottetown Festival Orchestra. Our children grew up through PEI summers. The island feels like a second home so it was only natural to purchase property here.
Why the Owner Chose Lakeside:
Suzanne and I love the PEI north shore beaches. Every beach day we would drive from Charlottetown to the beach. Now when we are at our cottage you can see the dunes across St. Peter's Lake. Our cottage is only 3k by road from one of the best beaches on the island. The beach between Lakeside and St. Peter's is pristine and uncrowded.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
Golden Summer Cottage is at the end of a red earth PEI lane. The road ends at the cottage so there is no through traffic. The cottage has an unobstructed view onto St. Peter's Lake and the north shore dunes. St. Peter's Lake is a fecund natural area. Eagles, ospreys, herons and hawks are sighted daily. Water access is 100 meters from the cottage and an Old Town Canoe awaits those who like to paddle to the beach or explore the lake.
