This house was clean and very comfortable! Larry treated us like family and took care of every need we had, from directions to get there, getting the grill working, and how to turn on the hot tub! We met the people that clean the house and care for the hot tub too, and I really felt like everyone we were in touch with really cared for the home and for the guests. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! It's a quick walk to the beach, and Salvo is a teeny little town with absolutely nothing to do but relax! Next time we're bringing the kids along, but it was a nice couples getaway, and Larry was very accommodating! Thanks again for a great trip Larry! I would recommend the seafood stores there to buy fresh seafood and cook it at home, the chain restaurants are pricey and the food's not all that great. This house has everything you need for cooking, there is a crab pot, lots of silverware, prep bowls, everything to cook a gourmet meal. And there are 3,000 coffee filters, so don't bring your own if you drink coffee, everyone seems to buy a pack and leave it there!

My kids and I had a great time the last week in March. The house was better than expected and our hosts Mr. and Mrs. Jennings were wonderful throughout the entire process from beginning to end. The house was clean, extremely well maintained and convenient to all the activities we had planned. Mr. Jennings gave us a welcome call, making sure that we had arrived and all was well; which was greatly appreciated. I've already spoken to many friends about the trip and the great experiences we had, including the awesome house! I would highly recommend the rental to friends and family. Len Beman

Just got back from the OBX and loved the trip. A friend and I decided to enter the OBX marathon so we joined 2 others and headed down to run the race and fish a few days. The race was tough but we finished and the fishing was not great but the weather was awesome. All in all a great stay. We really needed the hot tub to recover after the race and were a little panicked when we got there and it was not working but I emailed the owner and he immediately had someone out to fix it. It worked great for our stay. The house was roomy and comfortable, centrally located between buxton and nags head and very clean. I would definately stay here again and recommend without reservation to anyone who would like to spend a few days in a beautiful place. Love the outer banks and loved our stay at this house. Thanks for a great time!!!

This was our 2nd stay in Summer Breeze. This time we brought both our daughters & their families. We had a wonderful family vacation! The house was again perfect - clean, well-maintained and more than enough room for 6 adults & 3 little ones 2 yrs old & under. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, dishes, all appliances and gadgets. We did have one minor repair issue and Larry had it taken care of in record time. We stayed here for our first time in the OuterBanks early in August 2011 with our 3 children and their spouses (all in their 20's). We had a wonderful time! Larry called the morning after we arrived to make sure everything was OK - a nice touch! The house was very clean, and the living areas were well-furnished. We appreciated the washer/dryer. too. The 4 bedrooms/3 baths were perfect for the 8 of us, and my husband and I loved the use of the 2nd floor outdoor patio to enjoy our morning coffee. We also spent a lot of time on the back porch, swinging lazily on with the porch swing and hanging around the picnic table chatting every evening after dinner.The hot tub was also a special touch, (but we turned off the breaker to make it a 'cool tub' as it was in the 90's all week!) The beach was a short 5 minute walk - clean and uncrowded. Be make sure to catch the sunrise in the morning - it's really worth waking up early, and be sure to bring your camera! The only inconvenience: there was no t-paper when we arrived (we expected this would be provided.) We'll definitely consider booking another vacation here again.Thanks, Larry! (P.S. We were all thinking of Summer's Breeze during Hurricane Irene, and hope recovery to the island goes quickly.)

Once again we would like to say thank you so much to the owner's of this home, and what a home it is! This home comes to you complete for your stay. The home is very well maintained and clean. There is a beautiful kitchen fully stocked with everything you will need to cook and entertain with. There is also a very large table and a high chair for the younger ones. Of course the grill is out back in the yard. This home offers a very comfortable living area complete with a flat screen tv and players for movies. The bedrooms are beautiful and offer plenty of space. But if you are like us you will enjoy the very short less than a five minute walk to the beach. This home could not be more perfectly located, everything you could need or want is within walking or short driving distance. Go across the street for breath taking sunsets. This rental is worth every penny and more. The upper deck chairs are great for watching the sunsets and the swing on the screened porch is a huge plus. There is also a baby bed and linens for the smallest ones. That came in so handy this year with our new granddaughter. We never come away from this home disappointed. While there try the Dolphin Den for the best She Crab soup you could wish for and Lisa's pizza has free delivery and mouth watering bar b q pizza. If you don't want to fish in the surf the home comes with free pier passes, just take the house key to the pier for free access and free fishing. A huge thank you to the owner's for providing our family with such a wonderful home to make memories in!

This is a wonderful home away from home. It was stocked with everything we needed to make our stay great! It is a very easy close walk to the beachfront. We took out dogs and the owner was wonderful to work with in that regards as well. The rental is very clean and well kept up by the owners. We look forward to a return to this property soon! We had a fantastic fall vacation at this home the last week of September. The home was very clean with all the amenities that we needed. The beach is an easy walk down the quiet lane and over the dunes. This was a perfect home for us travelling with our two year old grandson - having a crib and room just for him was very helpful. I think his favorite part of the beach outings was sitting in the warm outside shower afterward! My preference was for a one or two story home so as not to have so many steps to worry with and this home was perfect. Larry responded immediately to a minor maintenance need and had it fixed right away. I highly recommend this property and we plan to return next year.

Beautiful Second-Time Stay @ Summer's Breeze

This was our second time back to Summer's Breeze, and we had another amazing stay--thanks to the Jennings. Just walking in the door, we are able to delight in their true pride of ownership. Not only that, but they always make sure that everything is well cared for. We were also suprised at the new offerings--including the beautiful porch swing. Thank you! We appreciate that their description is accurate, and that the Jennings provide outstanding customer service throughout your stay. These are genuinely amazing owners. We have found this location to be a perfect spot. We love exploring all that the outerbanks has to offer, and Summer's Breeze puts us right in the middle of everything. In addition, we know that we will be walking into a beautiful, clean home. We've always found it to be plentiful in space and amenities--and hot water for showers! We would really recommend the night climb up the Hatteras Lighthouse, the ferry trip to Oracoke, crabbing in the sounds, fishing off Rodanthe pier, Tortuga's Lie for a meal, Five Guys Burgers in KDH, American Pie for ice cream, Risky Business for seafood to cook at home (they also steam and spice shrimp for you to go--yum!), and Hatteras Jack's for any fishing gear. Our kids enjoy romping in the surf, boogie boarding, chasing ghost crabs on the beach (especially at night with flashlights). We have been amazed by the wide variety of shells we've found on the beaches, and stunned by the sea life we're able to view from the pier. Breathtaking! Manteo is also a short drive and has a host of things to do for people of all ages. Kitty Hawk is also a short jaunt and definitely worth the trip. We have found the townsfolk in the Summer's Breeze area (Waves/Rodanthe/Salvo) to be very welcoming and friendly. Just remember to respect their town as it's their home all year 'round and we're lucky enough that they share the magnificient beauty with us. We would recommend Summer's Breeze without hesitation to anyone wanting a worry-free beach getaway.

We just returned from our first OBX vacation. We had a wonderful time, despite the high heat and humidity. The house was perfect for my husband and I and our daughter, son-in-law and 13 mo. old granddaughter. The kitchen was well-equipped, the main floor is open and bright, the bedrooms roomy, the baby's room great (one of the reasons we chose this particular house). Hot tub, screened in porch with swing, upper sundeck all added to the charm. Home is clean and well maintained. Appreciated the close proximity of the house to the beach abd the central location of the house to Avon south and KDH north. Larry is friendly and caring.... too bad we weren't able to communicate until the end of the week due to communication issues. Would not hesitate to rent from Larry again. We highly recommend this house.

Great Family Retreat

We had a wonderful week at this cottage- three generations, including three three-year-olds. The upstairs guest room with attached nursery was perfect for kids and grandkids while we retreated and relaxed in the master suite. All three outdoor spaces were great- the kids enjoyed eating and playing on the back screened in porch and the adults loved the hot tub in the evenings. We were so happy to discover by how well maintained and equipped the house is- lots of value for the cost- and the proximity to the beach is perfect- a short 5 minute walk to the surf. We enjoyed having internet access and Dish Network TV - nobody missed a thing while there. We had an appliance malfunction which was fixed immediately after just one phone call- we were so impressed with the response of the owner as well as the repair company. We felt that they truly cared about our comfort and preserving our vacation. All sorts of great things near by - two kiteboarding schools, shops, restaurants, art galleries (don't miss the Pea Island Gallery just a mile or so down the road). Coffee and ice cream shops within a mile or two. We would love to go back and will certainly look into renting from the Jennings if we do! Thanks for sharing your lovely house with our family.

Perfect Place to Stay on the Outerbanks

This was our second year renting from the Jennings and we couldn't be more pleased. This property is a wonderful place to spend a week at the beach. The home is very spacious, well appointed, and nicely decorated. It's a very short walk to the beach and convenient to a local grocery store with a great deli not to mention a store next to it that sells fresh produce and some of the best crab cakes we have ever had. This home has a great open floor plan with a nice large dining table between the living area and kitchen. There is ample room for parking and a nice backyard for your pets along with an outside shower which made it nice for returning from the beach each day. The hot tub is on the front deck which is nice to have to enjoy in the evening after a long day on the beach. There is also a spacious screened porch which was wonderful for enjoying lunch while taking a break from the beach during the day. We used the 2 large bedrooms on the 2nd floor, one had an adjoining bathroom and the other bedroom opened onto a deck. This was nice to enjoy in the mornings and at sunsets. It overlooks a nice pond and allows a glimpse into the wildlife on the Outer Banks. The location of the cottage could not be better suited for a great vacation. It is just a short drive to miniature golf, outlet shopping, beautiful downtown Manteo (shopping, dining, The Lost Colony, Roanoke Island Park), Hatteras Lighthouse, Jockey's Ridge, and the Wright Brothers Memorial. This year we were able to meet the owners and they are really great people and truly want you to have a nice relaxing vacation which is evident in the way they are willing to accommodate you in any way and by the way they present and maintain their properties. We rented Cottage by the Pier last year from them and it was just as nice as this one, just smaller. So if you are looking for a great cottage where you can get away from it all but close enough to many things to see and do, this is the place for you.

" Best Vacation Ever "

Wow! We just spent the best beach vacation ever. I can not begin to explain how comfortable this home is. There is plenty of room for all ages. This home is beautifully decorated and the room sizes are great. Comes with a fully loaded kitchen for cooking so eating in is easy. There is a grill outside as well. The screened in porch is a perfect place to eat and generally has a light breeze blowing. Sitting on the upper deck watching the sun go down was heaven on earth. There is a great hot tub and a shower outside to wash off the sand. This home has it all provided for you. It has a washer/dryer, iron, ironing board, books, games, chairs for the beach, and cleaning supplies. For those who like to eat out the home is located within a short distance to plenty of places to eat and several will deliver.There is plenty of things to keep you busy in the area and the beach is only a 5 minute walk. From this home you can watch the sun come up in the morning and the sun go down at night. We will be rent this home again.

We just got back from staying at Summer's Breeze, and were impressed. We've been to many a beach house, but not one of them has shown the pride of ownership, cleanliness and comfort that the owners have gone to here. We found the kitchen to be beautifully stocked--spices, condiments and food was all we needed to make the preparation of food a breeze. We found the bedrooms bright, airy, and the beds/pillows quite comfortable. The laundry is upstairs, which made it easy to get towels and clothes washed and redistributed to the kids. The beach is a short walk away, and it is unspoiled and beautiful. The owners are super responsive and provide outstanding service. We felt warmly welcomed the minute we walked through the door, and we really appreciated how much thought had been given to this spectacular getaway. We also enjoyed the friendliness of the townspeople :-) We'll definitely be back--and SO appreciate the owners for keeping this lovely getaway so affordable. Thank you! Our family's vacation was made just that much more special and memorable because of the delightful time we had at Summer's Breeze. Because of this, we would recommend this without hesitation to anyone looking for a beautiful vacation home away from home.

Thank you Summer's Breeze for a wonderful holiday! From the moment you walk in, this home is inviting and well kept. We cooked our entire Thanksgiving meal there and the kitchen was well stocked, with baking pans, measuring cups and even a mixer! Each of the bedrooms are well appointed with TVs, plenty of storage and comfortable beds. Our dogs enjoyed the screened porch and the short walk to the beach everyday! To top it off, the hot tub is a welcome treat. This home is a real gem for the location and the amenities! We will be back.

My family and I just got back from vacationing in the Outer Banks at Summer's Breeze. The house was WONDERFUL! There were 4 adults and 2 children and we had plenty of space - and there was even room for more! The hot tub on the deck out front was private, yet beautiful! A very short walk to the beach allowed us to hear the waves at night. The house is very clean and bright with an open floor plan, and fully stocked with all kitchen essentials! Do NOT overpack like I did! To those of you considering renting here - I HIGHLY suggest it! Great place to stay!
