If you live in Ellijay...I'M SO JEALOUS! For the rest of you people. Listen up! THIS IS HUGE! Ellijay is the biggest little secret EVER!!! Ellijay is an "Andy of Mayberry" town with every bit the Charm! It is also the apple capital of the North Georgia Mountains and has an Apple Festival every fall. Yes! That's coming up! There's Apple Everything on the Planet!!! Apple Stuff your Grand Mamma never knew!...and street festivals!...and parties!...and cook-offs! and...well just...EVERYthing! You gotta be there!...and OMG!...as if holding their breath through the long hot summer, the trees are about to explode with brilliant colors! the likes of which I can only DREAM about here in FLORIDA!... Not to mention tubing the Coosawattee River to stay COOL!!!... What are you waiting for?...
First thing you should know...You will be met in Ellijay by our own Jason (Proud Pappa to be) and he will escort you to the property. It's a big mountain and no worries about getting lost. Jason has lived on Eagle Mountain his whole life, and I dare say, can answer just about any question you might have... :)
This secluded resort homestead is nestled into three private acres on the mountainside among lush mature trees and natural foliage. Upon entering the property, keep your eyes open. We saw a deer and her 2 babies scamper in front of the car and my grandkids were amazed! Approaching the main cabin, you will see the beautiful water feature and koi pond, as well as the three levels of living space. (On the right is the smaller intimate owner's cabin for 2+ guests.) The first level porch and the majestic surround-decks on the second level offer lots of outdoor living space. There is a ground entry and also a main floor entry. The ground floor opens to a huge open room with that sports bar feel, including flat screen plasma TV's, leather sofabed, full sized pool table, and a table with barstools (for cards and boardgames or a snack).
It is important to note: There is only one closed bedroom, and it has a down topped queen bed. The two sleeping areas in the loft are open and therefore not oppropriate if you want complete privacy. It is better for kids who like to pile in together anyway. There is also another sleeping area in the gameroom on the ground floor with a queen sleeper sofa. Again, this not a closed bedroom with complete privacy. This is our vacation home and we structured it with our kids and grandkids in mind who enjoy being together while vacationing. There is a separate owners cabin with complete privacy for a couple if desired.
Upstairs on the main floor you will find a great living room with soaring ceiling, complete with satellite flat screen TV, and a towering wood-burning fireplace open to the main floor and upstairs loft. The open floor plan includes a dining room and a fully appointed kitchen with island gas cooktop, lots of prep space,(You can do up a turkey feast if you want!) and a dishwasher to keep it simple. This completely open floor plan keeps everyone in the mix. A queen bedroom with a full bath completes the main floor.
The upstairs loft has two different sleeping areas, one queen and one full. The entire loft opens to the main floor, as well, and has open beam ceilings. The tall windows invite your attention toward the water feature and koi pond below and the expansive surrounding grounds. This floor has a full bath complete with jetted tub.
The outdoor living space is an extension of the indoors. The huge 3-sided wrap-around deck has an additional large screened sitting room. The open deck has a 5-6 person jacuzzi complete with an outdoor wood-burning fireplace, and many sitting areas surrounding the cabin. The gas grill barbeque is ready and awaiting the creative chef genius among the group. The open to sky jacuzzi is the perfect way to relax your bones after a busy day on the mountain: with the fire crackling nearby, (I'm thinking s'mores), the stars shining bright and just the sounds of the magical waterfall and nature in the background...(Oh!...and the sounds of the crazy people you brought with you!)...We invite you to enjoy!

From the apple festival in the fall to tubing down the river (one tube is for drinks) with a ton of their college friends, a little fishing in the stocked area ponds for the little ones, the many amenities of the private resort club-house with a teen center available to all our guests...we were hooked.

When I'm not working hard and want to get away from it all, I retreat to this amazing Cabin Nestled in the middle of pure beauty. My family and I recently had the opportunity to go to Ellijay and stay at this cabin. It was beyond a perfect stay. The cabin was wonderful! Everything was just as described. The cabin was beautifully decorated. We had three of our four collage aged sons and their girlfriends with us and we had plenty of places for sleeping and all the beds slept so comfortable. There was plenty of things to do in the area to keep us busy during the day. We went kayaking one day, hiked up Amicalola Falls another day then picnicked in the park and on to an apple orchard before leaving. (Not to mention all the neat shops downtown!) After the busy day, there was always a pool tournament going on or relaxing in the hot tub or us old folks would relax on the porch listening to the waterfall. This cabin has the feel of being the only cabin anywhere near because you may just see some deer at certain times in the afternoon. We had such a great time, I would recommend visiting Ellijay and staying at this cabin. My family would love to go back sometime soon!

What a treat to visit this cabin! My family and I just returned from a stay at this property, and we couldn't have been more pleased. The owner was a delight to work with. She responded quickly to all of my questions and concerns, and provided southern warmth and hospitality in every conversation. Upon our arrival, a gentleman met us at a local store and personally escorted us to the property to make sure we did not get lost. To our delight, everything was just as pictured. I was so impressed. When we discussed coming back to the area (we couldn't get everything done that we planned) the whole family decided we would like to stay at this cabin again. I believe the game room downstairs was a hit with the kids giving us adults some quiet time outside enjoying the view.. Thank you Debi and Jason. You guys were great! We'll see you again soon!
