My husband and I took our honeymoon here and it was everything we wanted. Very private, very secluded, but still close to the beach and civilization. We have discussed with friends making a trip back and staying in the same location, since the house is very well suited for large crowds.
Owner response:Thanks for your review, we hope you will return sooner then later :)

When we started out planning this vacation I was hoping to find something a little different from what we had done in past trips. Busy hotels, expensive theme parks, too much time spent in a car, and event driven vacations is what I was trying to avoid this time. I found this house through a friend's recommendation and it was just what the doctor ordered. This place is not easy to find. It's off the main road and in fact you take dirt roads through a very large hawaiian ranch property to get there. Without excellent directions from the owner we would have gotten lost. Once we arrived we all were taken by the view of the coastline and the mountains that surround it. This location is very cool! We found the house clean and very comfortable. The Kitchen and family area is a convenient great room and allowed us to have the children play games and watch tv while we prepared meals. We never felt cramped like you sometimes find in a hotel or condo. The outside areas include a nice sized deck with a fantastic view, and a large grassy area below the house with a pool and an area for a small fire in the evenings. In the mornings we were awakened by exotic bird noises of many kinds. Not the bad kind, like the angry crow that won't shut up. The birds were just a nice way to start the day and reminded me every morning that I was in Hawaii! Great to not wake up to a hotel maid pushing a cleaning cart up and down a hallway. We took the kids on morning hikes and saw peacocks, quail, wild pigs (from a distance), cows, horses, and even a mongoose! The kids loved this. We played tennis and paddleball on the court in back. In the distant sky above we were constantly treated to sky divers, gliders, and motorized hang gliders that were out of the local airstrip below. The beaches are close and easy to get to and almost completely private. Local shopping and restaurants are only 15 minutes away in Haleiwa. In a nutshell, the house was as described; charming and comfortable and all the convenience of home. It is well maintained yet rustic. Ralph, the owner, was incredibly helpful with every question we had and had extensive knowledge of the not only the local surroundings but the whole island. I would recommend this house rental to anyone who has children that like the outdoors, couples who want privacy and anyone else looking for a fantastic vacation away from busy and crowded hotel resorts.

Private, peaceful, relaxing and fun. We loved waking up each morning to the spectacular views, and the song birds. Watching the sky divers was entertaining. The kids loved the ranch roads, baby wild pigs and all the peackocks and especialy the pool. Thanks again, what a great place.
Owner response:Thanks Josh, were looking forward to having you as a guest again in the future.

We are both former residents of Oahu and come to the North Shore every year for theTriple Crown. We always stay in Mokuleia to get away from the crowds. We have stayed at several of the rental properties in area and this property tops the list. The quality of the home, larger rooms, openess of the house, amenities and spectular views are perfect for relaxization and getting away from it all... We also loved the "out-in-the-country" feel the ranch and all the animals give you... If you are looking for a romantic getaway or a place where a family can relax and enjoy the North Shore without all the crowds - this is the place for you! The owners are very nice and responsive to your needs.

We came here for my nephew's wedding and the place was great. Very clean. Amazing views. It was a bit tricky finding it in the dark. The location was perfect for a nice private week. The owner was very helpful and did stop by one day and he was great to chat with. He recommended some things to do that we probably would not have thought of. We hosted the rehearsal dinner at the home because it was so beautiful. And yes the kitchen was that well stocked to be able to host the dinner. Plenty of room and the grounds were very well maintained. It was really nice to have a pool to hang out at also.
Owner response:Thanks Monica, I am glad you had a good time with your family. I we hope to see you again in the future. Mahalo

My bride and I and our families and guests thoroughly enjoyed the ranch house and grounds. The wedding / reception was beautiful and the photos turned out so nice because of the unbelievable views. It was a labor of love clearing the high grass on the off yard area for some of the lower view areas, but with our very wet spring it just had to be done. The house and amenities were very sufficient for the 10 of us that stayed the weekend and 6 of us that remained the whole week. So peaceful. Again, the whole experience was a wedding of a lifetime.
Owner response:Thanks Joel and Wanda, were glad we could have you as guests and hope you will return sooner then later. I am happy to hear the reception went well.

From Our Guest Book: Cheers Cathy, we had a wonderfull time. The place is spot on. Cant wait to tell my friends about it. The bush was busy with critters. We enjoyed the peacocks ans the little black pigs scurring around. Hope to see you all soon. Just a heads up, you may want to trim the bougainvillia by the tennis court, hard to find the balls when you smackem out of the court.

Just wanted to say cheers. We had a bloody good time and will gladly come back. Loved the view and privacy. Had a blast with mates in the pool. Being from Australia cant figure why this place is not fully booked all year. Big open spaces are hard to come by. Was nice to be far from the proffessional surfers and caos on the main north shore. See you soon, gooday :)

Thank you for the wonderful hospitality. We had a very nice stay at the Ranch. The quality time with the family was just what we all needed. Having our son in law back from Iraq, we really wanted a place to relax, and we found it at your ranch. Say hello to the family and we hope to be back soon. KOJI

We were a party of six. We were an Aunt her two grown daughters and two sisters (cousins/nieces). We absolutely LOVED our stay at the North Shore Ranch! It was a very quiet and peaceful farm atmosphere. The home is lovely! We especially loved feeding the young boars and seeing the parachutists popping out of the clouds each morning! We would come back any time we can!!! We stayed a year ago and we STILL keep talking about our stay at the Ranch!
Owner response:Thank you Bev, we look forward to having you back some day. I hope your all doing well back home. Aloha :)

Our family of 6 adults and three young children really enjoyed our vacation at the Ranch, the house was beautifully decorated, clean and private with fantastic views of Haliewa and local beaches from the wrap around verandah. The children and adults enjoyed the fenced pool and racquet ball court, with plenty of room inside the house and outside for play and we appreciated the DVD’s and games supplied. The drive up to the house with palm trees either side and mountains in the distance was great, opening and closing the security gates was part of the fun and the grounds were well kept and provided lots more play area with chickens and peacocks. A true Hawaiian adventure and we would love to return.
Owner response:Aloha Graham & Susanne, Were glad you and your family had a good time. We hope you will come back and visit us soon. Thanks for the VRBO comments, we really appreciate it. Mahalo & Aloha

Hey guys, thanks again for letting us stay in your ranch house this summer. My kids really enjoyed seeing the wild baby pigs and peacocks and chasing the sand crabs on the beach. The beach was so empty and secret, that we all went for a skinny dip and the kids cant stop talking about it. The ranch road was a bit bumpy, but the kids sure enjoyed the ride. It was so quiet at night and the stars were so visible, it reminded me of my boyscout camping days. I hope to get back soon. Manny thank yous from the whole family. Let us know if your ever in Huntington Beach, we would love to show you our town.
Owner response:Were so glad you had a great time Mike & Cathy. It was a pleasure meeting your wonderful family. We will definately look you up if we come to Huntington Beach. Please come back soon, theres plenty more crabs, pigs, peacocks and more to share.

Wow, what a unique and wonderful home. Thankyou for sharing this one of a kind property with our family. The wedding was perfect due to the large open spaces and beautiful views. Having the sun set behind us, during the ceremony was priceless. We loved the nature hikes and the horse back riding along the beach. Thankyou for setting up the Hawaiian luau and dancers for us, they were very fun and letting us dance with them made it a memorie that will last for ever. Cordialy, Ralph & Hillary Watson
