Why the Owner Chose Dunedin
We were on our honeymoon with a vague interest in buying a vacation condo, but we fell in love with this house by the lake and we bought it a few weeks later. A condo might have been the sensible choice, but this house has so much more character and feels more like a real home than a boxy condo. Unless you really want the bustle of Clearwater Beach right on your doorstep, we think you will like it too.

We stayed at Lazy Lake over Christmas 2010 and Christmas 2011 for two weeks each time. Both times, we found the house to be clean, well-stocked, roomy, comfortable and hassle-free. The setting is on a small lake filled with Muscovy Ducks, turtles and other wildlife. The view is lovely and relaxing. The pool is nice, but like most Florida pools, winter swimming depends on the weather. There is a great BBQ, bikes in the garage, a great TV and bunk beds in the second bedroom. Our kids call it "the Florida House" and found it comfortable and fun. The neighbourhood is good. I ran most days and never had a problem. There is a Winn-Dixie and a pharmacy around the corner. Its a very suburban setting as is typical in Florida. Some real bonuses for people with kids: the mall nearby is very kid friendly and a good place to burn off some energy. There is an amazing playground at the Dunedin rec centre with a first rate splash pad. Clearwater beach and the marine aquarium are an easy drive. Basically, we stayed there twice for a reason. We were perfectly happy with what we found.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We had a wonderful time and your home is just lovely. It had everything we could possibly need. It was very clear that you had thought of everything! The beds and linens were clean and comfortable. There was plenty of room for everyone to move about. The kids enjoyed the pool and we had fun watching all the ducks and wild life in the lake. The location was the best. We loved being close to Winn Dixie, Sweetbay and Publix's. We went to Sweetbay and bought the Oyster Party Pack. 60-70 steamed oysters for $19.99! We had a great Oyster Feast on Easter outside on the patio table. Really fun! Although, we didn't go to the mall we did some great shopping at Croc's and Flops across from the Mall. The adults headed out one night to the Beer House in Dunedin and sampled some delicious beers. Really nice, relaxed crowd. We had a table outside and everyone was so friendly and welcoming! We enjoyed Honeymoon Beach, Caledesi (this was my favorite and the kids loved the ride over), Clearwater and Sand Key. We found being in Dunedin to be a great time with just a 15 minute ride to Clearwater. We took the advice of your rental agent and headed to the beaches early. We were on the beaches everyday by 10:00 am. Found parking a breeze and locating the perfect spot to hang on the beach for the day. We noticed by Noon, people were circling the lots for parking and sprawling beach spaces slim. Thank you and with luck we would love to rent again next year!
