Our NEW cabins are situated in a quiet peaceful farm setting 3 miles north of Cortez. We have 360 degree views of mountain ranges, the mesas and Sleeping Ute Mountain- and we will share with you the legend of the Sleeping Ute, and the valley. At night the stars seem so close that you can touch them.
We are CENTRALLY located to all of the south-west/four corners area attractions. You can play all day and come home to your home away from home. Enjoy the lovely evenings on your porch with your favorite drink. (BYOB) Or take a relaxing soak in the hot tub under the stars.
Moab is just a 2 hour drive from us, as is Monument Valley. Durango is a beautiful, quick 45 minutes away and don't forget to not only see but ride on the Silverton Train. The seventy minute drive to Telluride is absolutely gorgeous and in the winter you can ski all day and come home to your warm comfy cabin and enjoy evening festivities here. What a treat!
The cabin is a nice 1 bedroom with a very large private loft. In the bathroom you will find your washer/dryer along with the commode, sink and roomy shower. The kitchen has a microwave, stove, oven, frig, coffee maker and toaster, as well as your dishes, pans, utensils etc. Opposite the kitchen area is the cheerful dining table with the bay window. Then we have the living room with a futon that pulls out to a double bed. There is a flat screen TV with DISH and channels for everyone. Upstairs you will find the loft. There is:one full size bed, and two twin beds, a queen size luxury air mattress.
Perfect for extended stay for work assignments. Great rates!

I arrived in Cortez, Colrado back in August 2011...I am a travel nurse so I never know what the places look like before arriving. When I first arrived it was late and I actually thought I had the wrong address....Neverless it was the right one. I have been here since, and have truely enjoyed being here, Ellen and Harvey are the best, you feel very welcomed and its like my second home. The place is gorgeous, spacious and quiet. Not far from many attractions, from zip lines to sking, Indian dances and more. I bring my dog with me when I travel and its not a problem, he even gets to play outside with Pier`. The park is less than 3 miles away and he enjoys walking when its warm enough..Just want to thank them for being so hospitable during my stay...hoping to stay many more monthsOwner response: What an appreciated review. That is what we strive for, to make all of our Guest feel like they are at home away from home and give them a clean and convenient place to relax and enjoy the FOUR CORNERS OF THE SOUTHWEST.

We were staying in Dolores along the river, but had to move. I was happy to find the Jolly Rancher on its pristine 15 acre ranch. The owners made us feel very much at home. It is a wonderful location with incredible views. It was great for our travels to Durango, Silverton, Telluride, and Dolores. Cortez is just down the road a few miles for groceries and shopping. Don't miss the recreation center with the incredible indoor swimming pool and facilities. Thanks JR!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Warning, I booked a cabin way in advance and one week before my trip, was notified it was not going to be vacant. This was only after I contacted the owner for directions did she tell me this. She did say we could stay in the main house, but we are traveling with kids who didn't want to be separated from us and we needed a kitchen to cook in with fridge space. Really disappointing especially since we have less than a week to find something else.Owner response: The complaint is correctt. It was behond my control. As soon as I was aware of the problem I contacted the Guest.The rooms were together and she had the total use of the full kitchen by herself for 1hr and longer if she needed it, which she was aware of.I am really sorry for any inconvience it may have caused her.She texted me the following morning and said she had made other arrangements.I am truly sorry when such things happens.

About the owner: Crabby old lady who LOVES people! I would LOVE for you to come visit me and my pets: PIERRE (coton de tulear Dog), Royal White Hair Sheep (new breed for Meat) and Kitty Kitty the barn cat. I had my own business for 40 years in Southern Cal, then retired to Cortez. I felt a need to get involved with people once again so I opened up a B&B for 10 years and now I have slowed down once again just to open up the vacation rental or a home away from home.
Why the Owner Chose Cortez:
Upon moving to Cortez I wanted to do something for the community. I found there was a need in housing visitors, temporary workers, in the area of the southwest corner of Colorado. The area is most unique in that it lends itself to a calming, relaxing atmosphere.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
You not only get a relaxing place to stay but you get to enjoy the 360 degree view of the La Plata Mts. the Mesa Verde and the legend of the Sleeping Ute Mt. When enjoying the hot tub at night you see a sky full of stars and the moon. Along with that you have a great porch to sit and relax and even enjoy a BBQ if you so desire. We produce the best lamb that you have EVER tasted. Upon request we can provide you with lamb. We are so tranquil out here, yet only five minutes from downtown Cortez with their variety of dining, shopping and Culture Center.
