We have been visiting Emerald Isle for 20+ years and have been fortunate to own this condo 6 + yrs. Emerald Isle is one of the best kept secrets for beach fun in NC. Sound of the Sea is a gated community so the beach area is exclusive to owners and guests.
Why the Owner Chose Emerald Isle
Emerald Isle affords us easy access to a great beach. It has all the amenities we need, most within walking distance. However, even though you can walk to a number of shops/stores etc. the complex is set back enough on plenty of acreage so it is extremely quite and relaxing. Grounds are very well maintained.
The Unique Benefits of this Condo
Walking to the pier and/or surf-fishing. A variety of shops/restaurants in Emerald Isle, Swansboro and Atlantic Beach. The NC Aquarium is close and water slides, mini-golf and go-carts are close by and always fun. Or just lounging on the beach with a good book.

A lovely condo in a great location. What a treat to have two balconies, each with a view of the ocean.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing, girls getaway, families with teenagers.

Our two little ones slept on the pullout so the sleeping arrangements were good for us. The place is very well decorated and laid out to make the best use of the space! It was actually bigger than I expected. The view is gorgeous, and you can hear the peaceful ocean waves with the sliding glass doors open. We spent time picking huge shells from the beach and visiting Mike's Farm for the Christmas lights hayride not too far away. This was a comfortable place to call home for the weekend. The owners made themselves readily available to us by phone to help improve our stay while we were there.
Recommended for:Families with young children.

We had already paid for a 3 day stay in Sept. when our family had a medical emergency. The owners were fantastic about letting us reschedule. (Of course this was off season.) In Oct. we finally got to Emerald Isle for the first time. The condo is well located on the island. (Don't miss the shrimp truck two blocks away.) And it has a great location for getting to the beach - walk out the front door and to the beach. We loved the shells on and the size of the beach. My husband is a very picky body surfer and was extremely happy with the size of the waves. I loved the sound of the waves and reading. Inside the condo is bright and extremely clean. All the furniture makes you feel like you are in a beach cottage. Everything we needed was there and we had a wonderful time.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

We really enjoyed our stay at your condo while waiting for our Marine's unit to return from Afghanistan. The beach was very relaxing and your unit was just as described....quite and cozy...yet also clean and well supplied. The worst part of the trip was having to leave! We had a great time.
