The perfect vacation rental ...a charming studio apartment on the beach. While the building is directly on the sand, this unit does not have an ocean view, but the sand is merely a staircase away. This unit has a private sun deck/ patio with eastern exposure and the most wonderful direct morning and mid-day sun. Start your day with a cup of coffee walking on the beach, checking out surf and enjoying the calm mornings with waves crashing and salt air. There is no better way to unwind and enjoy the beach than in your own private retreat. Spend your day laying out -either on the privacy or your own deck or a few steps away on the sand, volley ball courts are right in front of the house, and biking on a beautiful bike path. End your days with a sunset walk on the beach, dining outdoors on the patio and enjoying this quiet little beach town. It is a lovely relaxing vacation beach retreat.
The apartment is light and bright and nice enough for 2, but please no more. An open floor plan living area has a kitchen at one end of the unit has a 3/4 kitchen: sink, fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave (everything but an oven) with a 6' long eat at bar. A 42" flat screen LCD TV graces one wall and there is comfortable seating area for 4 along with a writing desk. A murphy bed with upgraded mattress is hidden away in an attractive mirrored cabinet. A 10' sliding glass door extends your living/entertaining area to a 25' x 8' private deck with gas BBQ, Umbrella set, and chaise lounge.
Playa del Rey is a small Southern California beach town nestled between Marina del Rey and Manhattan Beach. It isn’t a party town – it is just a nice sleepy beach town – with restaurants and local color all within walking distance. A mere 10 minute cab ride from LAX; you don’t even need a car – but you do have 1 off street parking space if you so choose. You are freeway close to all of Los Angeles and Southern California’s many attractions.

I have lived on this beach for over 40 years and we raised two children here. This beach is the best place to live in the Los Angeles area; very friendly, safe, quiet, clean, a beautiful beach with beautiful sunsets.

I stayed at the studio for about 4 weeks and I just had a perfect summer! When I arrived, Jo Ann was so helpful with everything. In the bathroom and the kitchen I found everything I needed and it was so nice to have a parking space just infront of the house. The deck was wonderful and we had many bbq's and funny evenings. For me it was like to come home from the first second on, because Jo Ann was like a family member and was helping me with everything she could. I thank you again so much for this wonderful time and I must come back! Carmen

Great little studio apartment with everything you need to enjoy your vacation. The murphy bed was very comfortable and the deck was a great place to sit in the morning with your coffee. I was pleasantly surprised to find coffee, muffins, chocolates and a big bowl of fruit waiting for me when I arrived after a long day of traveling. There were also lotions and soaps for my use in the bathroom. It was the little extras that made this rental stand out from the others. The apartment was also centrally located close to the airport, LA proper and Orange County. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone looking for a place to stay in the LA area. Thanks to Jo Ann for everything she did to make my vacation that much more enjoyable.

My sister and I came here for a long weekend and it was the best ever! JoAnn went above and beyond to help us. We had fresh towels everyday and if we needed information on places she had everything. I will never stay at a hotel when visiting California, I will always stay at JoAnn's. She is the nicest person and so very helpful.The apartment was everything we wanted and more. It had boogie boards, bikes, beach chairs and such a wonderful view. We loved the apartment, it was perfect! The town was quiet and relaxing and in walking distance to everything. Thank you JoAnn for everything! Cant wait to come out again and see you!

We had a delightful time at our Deck Beach Retreat. Every detail was as described and we enjoyed views, access to everything, and a perfect getaway place to stary. Many thanks to JoAnn for a great property and her wonderful personality. My husband and I were thrilled when we saw this great unit, complete with everything including bicycles, boogie boards, cooler\table, chairs...it was perfect. JoAnn went above and beyond for us!!!! Where do we begin?? First of all, the little studio is perfect for a couple's getaway. It's steps from the sand and with boogie boards, volleyball, frisbee, and beach chairs provided, you don't have to worry about anything but the walk to water! There's also a wonderful bike path that winds its way through the sand and Jo Ann provides the bikes! We rode the 8 miles to the Santa Monica Pier and it was fabulous! It's about a 45 min. drive into the heart of LA/Hollywood, but we didn't mind since it meant we were away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. Playa del Rey and the nearby towns (Marina del Rey, Venice, etc.) have some great restaurants, too. The best part of the stay was our hostess, Jo Ann. We couldn't have asked for a nicer person to rent from. She took good care of us ... even leaving us a dozen roses and a bottle of champagne since we were there to celebrate our wedding anniversary. By the end of the week, we were leaving a friend. We will definitely be back ... more than once!
