We just returned from a great trip to the Bahamas and truly enjoyed our stay at Manor of Love - every time I say the name I chuckle (and the folks at Customs do, too). Our group of six (two children - a toddler and preschooler - two thirty something parents and two mid-sixty seniors) were very comfortable in apartment 7, which is on the first floor and has 3 bedrooms, two baths and french doors that open onto a small concrete patio directly bordered with grass and a white sand path that leads to the beach. It was the perfect indoor/outdoor environment for our diverse age span. The young ones could play outside within easy view of the adults. The apartment furnishings were comfortable, well-used and kid-friendly, standing up to the rigors of sand and small hands. The dining area was a little tight for six, but we figured out how to make it work well. The kitchen is fairly well equipped, especially for a frequently used rental. We even baked a cake while there! The location is superb on many counts. First, the beach is wonderful, and there are numerous beach chairs for ready use. The water is crystal clear with gentle waves and a few lovely small reefs within an easy snorkel swim. Since the beach is so close to the apartment, we didn't need to bring tons of things to it because it was an easy walk to return for lunch, forgotten towels, naps and such. Second, grocery stores are very close and incredibly well-stocked. We even found a full complement of gluten free foods! Heading out toward Lyford Cay, we discovered delicious cappuccinos at News Cafe and very tasty lunches and produce at Goodfellow Farms -- all within minutes from MOL. Timothy is an incredibly accommodating host, who picks you up and brings you to the airport, provides a quick orientation to the local area and offers some tips on where to find special treats such as the best conch salad. He also returned to the airport after dropping us off with a forgotten item - now, that's hospitable!

We went to Manor of Love from 24 december till 03 january. We're 7 people in our party...5 adults and to child (9 and 12 years old). We had such a blast staying there...It's such a beautiful place to stay. The beach is so wonderful (the most beautiful beach that we saw in Nassau) We rent the car with Timothy, so we can go look around and see what they have in the area. We went snorkelling at Stuart Cove, spend the day at Atlantis and went to Dolphi Encounter.. Timothy was very nice to pick-up us at the airport and make a fast look around of the town to show us were the grocery store and the gas station was. The house was clean (maybe paint can be done) and we had a lot of space for 7... The temperature was so nice.. If you go to Nassau ,Manor of love is the place to stay...hope to go there again sometime

We had a great experience at this property. Everything is included, no hidden extra fees. This place has a great beach and is very clean. The apartment is spacious and easily accommodated 3 couples or 6 people. They think of everything. The vehicle made the stay much more pleasant. The owner goes above and beyond to make your visit enjoyable. Very organized in the rental process. I will stay here again and will recommend it to others. This is a great way to experience the Bahamas.

The pictures of this place do not do it justice! Granted, it looks nice online, you will be more than pleasantly surprised when you arrive. All the important things you are likely to forget at home are already provided, such as beach towels and toiletries. This is the best place you could choose for your stay on Nassau/ Paradise Island. I recommend it to everyone. Everything was well maintained. The beach is right in the backyard . Having access to a car is highly recommended as most things are in town. Getting around on the island is strait forward, although going into town during rush hour gets congested and backed up. Grocery prices are high on the island, but we found it still much more affordable to cook than go out. The Manor of Love is a simple cottage perfectly situated on a quiet strip of beach and removed from the hussle and bussle of town, but close enough to get there easily. Timothy and Linda were fantastic hosts by helping with airport pick-up and drop-off, showing us some local grocery shopping that made our stay very conveneint, and offering some local insights that made our sight seeing ideal for our family.Overall, if you like a quiet beach oriented vacation with nice renters - this is a great choice. Bottom Line This Place Is A Must If You Are Coming To The Bahamas... Also Try The Daq Shaq It Is Located by the caves off bay street very good daquiris and fun atmosphere. Also nearby is Traveller's Rest, where you can enjoy an amazing banana daiquiri and crack'd conch you have got to eat here good food and good prices. I personally want to thank the owner for his warm and friendly hospitality. I gave it 4 stars cuz i would of liked my own grill instead of having to go down to the beach, also some new lawn furniture would be nice, and some more furniture for the balcony, and maybe even a hammock...

where to begin?you can not go wrong here.the house is beautiful with a magnificent beach right outside the door.everything is provided, spotless and just as described.what you dont expect is the exceptional kindness of the people starting with our hosts Timothy and his wife who are always available for anything.we were even given a guide tour of the area as soon as we arrived to get our bearings.having toured the whole island i can honestly say that the property is on perhaps he most beautiful beach of the island as it is almost impossible for other people to get there making it your own private beach with shallow water safe for children and white sand broken only by the occasional palm tree and your deck chair! having a car allowed us to also enjoy the evenings.if you go,visit Arawak fish fry on Friday or Saturday night go to Deep Creek and listen to the great live music of the Cool Survivors.they are great people as well as being great musicians.i could go on for ever about this wonderful place but you have to see it for yourselves as it is the perfect holiday place for anybody.

We stayed at unit number 7 for 8 nights. The view is incredible. You are ON the beach! Super with small children! The listing was accurate as well as the photos. The property is a little old and ok maintained. The floors, beds and bathrooms are clean. The walls/doors aren't that much and the same counts for the kitchen. The owner was very helpful and a very nice person. The car is a must and you can get it for a nice price as well! We do recommend this property! Nearby activities: Your own (almost private) "Love Beach":++++ Dolphin Encounters:++ ($98, for a super event) Travelers Rest restaurant:+ (good Bahamian food for an average price) Nassau: + (Stairscase/strawmarket/bay street/etc) Atlantis:- -, way too much money for an aquarium or swimmingpool or beach.

Our family of 6 stayed at Timothy's apartment in June 2011. What a fantastic location - maybe some of the best beach in the Nassau area. We took advantage of using one of the cars available and had no problems with driving to the grocery, to the Fish Fry and in to town. Our family loved the fact that we were "away" from all the touristy noise and conjestion. It was very relaxing. The bedrooms and bathrooms were more than adequate, everything was very clean and the just out the door was the sandy beach with wonderful snorkeling. The living and dining area in this unit were a bit small, but we were outside much of the time and this was not an issue. My only negative remark is that the kitchen was somewhat lacking in serving dishes and pots and pans and a few other basic items. But, on the positive side, there was a great grill outdoors that we used most every evening.

After staying at this rental in April 2010, we knew we wanted our adult children and granddaughter to experience this wonderful island and beautiful location, so we came back this year with them. It is a paradise and much better than staying at a resort. There were six of us in the unit and it never seemed to small. Even with our six year old granddaughter running about. The unit has everything you need and is clean. The apartments are furnished with good quality furnishings. The bath and beach towels are thick and good quality as well as the bed linens. The lounge chairs outside are nice and sturdy. There are a variety of pots and pans, dishes, and even spices. Outside there is a nice gas grill which the tenants share. The property is large enough that even with other renters, you don't feel like you are on top of each other. There is plenty of room to spread out on the beach and property -- and the beach is absolutely amazing! The Treco's are there if you need them, but you don't feel as if you are being watched. Our children, 26, 29, and 30 had a blast and didn't want to go home. They are all talking about us making this a yearly family vacation destination to kick off our summer. The use of the car is great for getting around, and I would recommend it. Especially if you plan to go out for dinners. And be prepared, food is a bit pricy on the island. As far as activities goes, there is plenty to do in Nassau. My husband and son dove with Bahamas Divers. We did the dolphin encounter at Blue Lagoon and it was a great experience. We all felt very safe where ever we went on the island and when walking the beach both in the early morning and late evenings. I hope you enjoy as much as we did!

Taking a redeye from Seattle, we arrived bleary-eyed and tired early Sat before check-in time. Timothy arranged transportation for us and had accomodated our desire to get settled in early. He took us for a short tour of important places like grocery stores, churches, gas stations, restaurants etc. Having use of the van made the more distant location at Love Beach possible for accessing the rest of the island for adventures and our family wedding activities. It took solid concentration to drive on the left side of the road and that for locals, stopping at red lights seems more of a "suggestion" than requirement. Keep your map handy as road signs are also not abundant. We found groceries to be expensive as well as restaurant prices. After a very welcoming experience at the nearby Baptist church on Easter Sunday, we went to the Arawak Cay for lunch. We stuck to the mini meals as prices ranged up to $40! We recommend the Travelers Rest for authentic, reasonably priced Bahamian food and music. We loved the conch fritters and guava cake. People are friendly and helpful and skilled in hustling your patronage of their products. The Straw market products have knockoffs and are all much of the same, not all locally made. We found a handmade crafts area down by the cruise ship dock. We immersed ourselves in the history of Nassau touring the forts and Pirate museum. Much of the history we learned from chatting with the locals. We took the Sandy Toes excursion to Rose Island and did the Dolpin Encounter with our 2 1/2 yr old granddaughter and thorougly enjoyed both adventures. The three guys went snorkeling out of Stuart's Cove and thrilled at viewing sharks circling below. All of us agreed that snorkeling the Bahamas does not match our Hawaiian experience. We snorkeled in front of Manor of Love and saw a stingray and a few colorful fish. The beach there is very lovely and we enjoyed morning walks and sat in tidepools. As we were gad abouts, we didn't hang out there much. The convenience of the house on the beach was perfect, however, for our family of six to relax, swim, walk, nap inside, or check emails with the convenient wi-fi. TV was great for watching the NBA finals and royal wedding in Britain. The hotel rooms we saw during wedding activities were small yet still expensive. Atlantis was an over-the-top experience in opulance and $. We found sharing Manor of Love to be safe, economical, comfortable, convenient, quiet, and relaxing. We loved it!

Owner response:It was a pleasure having you here, espeically knowing that you were enjoying the facilities - the beach, snorkeling and volleyball! Perhaps my wife and I will get to visit Northern Italy within the next few years.

Very nice place! We rented all 4 units for my 40th birthday. We had 19 people total and Timothy was VERY accomodating to our arrival/departure schedules as well as anything else we needed during our stay. I personally stayed in another unit. this one is the bottom unit on the far left and the patio doors open right out to the beach. If you don't like stairs and want to crawl out of bed to the beach, this is your place! It is definitely the smaller of the 4 units, even tho it has 3 bdrooms. The kitchen and living space are much smaller than the others. Each unit has it's own pros/cons (although I hate to call them cons). The best thing about this place is that it is not in the tourist area and you have your own 'private' beach. No beaches are totally private, but it is an amazing stretch of beach that is only accessible to the residential area. You can snorkel and swim right outside your door. We cooked our own food and found the kitchens to be fully stocked with everything we needed and 2 grocery stores close by. There is also a grill outside. It is a bit of a drive from 'town' (20 minutes), but he can provide a car and it is very easy to get around, even if you are not used to driving on the other side of the road. Unless you require room service and all the stuff that comes along with large hotel chains (pool, expense, child care, etc.), this is a great alternative We did have a bit of noise as they were working on the parking lot, but Timothy was very accessible and worked it around our stay. Also, as mentioned in other reviews (I forgot to list that in my other reviews), it is on the flight path, but that did not seem to bother us as we had fun watching all the planes come in whilst drinking pina coladas on the beach. If you can take the stairs, I suggest unit 1 as it is nicer and larger. If you prefer no stairs, don't mind the smaller kitchen and want to be right on the beach- this is your place!

Not sure where to begin but we loved the whole experience of the Bahamas. When we arrived we weren't quite sure if we had picked the right location-seemed maybe a bit out of the way. It didn't take us long to realize that the location and the apartment was perfect. Everything we needed. We made breakfast in the morning headed about 30 feet out our door to the gorgeous beach and ocean. We never had to rush or feel pressured out there. After going downtown we appreciated our place even more. The trip was easy to downtown where all the action was but I sure won't want to be staying there. I would highly recommend this apartment and would love to return one day. Thank you so much to Timothy for the pick up at the airport and drop off to the hotel the last night. I can't say enough about the wonderful people of the Bahamas. Thank you again!!!

My family (husband, wife, 4 y/o daughter, grandma) had a fantastic time staying in this unit and really enjoyed being hosted and taken care of by mr. timothy and his staff. The unit was lovely, our questions were addressed immediately, the ocean was just a couple steps away, and the property is simply gorgeous. The owner met us at the airport, and took us back (very convenient, timely and helpful service!). Overall - you are guaranteed to have a great stay! Beautiful views, wonderful property and great weather - what else does one need for happiness?! To the owners: thanks for welcoming us at your property / home - we would love to stay there again!

We selected this property for the sole reason it was the closest VRBO on the beach to Stuart Cove's scuba diving location. What a surprise to find it such an excellent Class A+ accommodation! Totally equipped, spotlessly clean, with the added bonus of having a car available for a very modest additional cost. We will recommend Manor Of Love unconditionally. Thank you, Timothy Treco!"

My family and I stayed at the Manor of Love in Nassau, Bahamas on Love Beach from Sept 18 to the 25. There were 7 of us and the accomodations that we had were exceptional. We checked out many sites on the Home Away website and were very fortunate to find Manor of Love, we had sent request to other accomodations and they always came back with a different price than what was advertised on the website. But what is advertised on the Website for Manor of Love is what you get no hidden add ons. They were right upfront with their charges. It is a 3 bedroom 2 bath home with living room kitchen and dining area. As it states on the website it is a very short walk to the beach and also a very beautiful view all day long. The Treco who are the owners are wonderful people, they had everything ready when we got there for our large group. A fantastic time was had by all. Only draw back was the seas were not co-operating but that by no means is a reflection on anything except the weather (needless to say back side of Igor). But never the less we still all had a wonderfuly time and enjoyed the Manor of Love and our week there. Most of the time we made breakfast in the morning and a quick lunch, but in the evenings it was time to eat out. Wonderful restaurants on Nassau to choose from. For fantastic sunsets try Compass Point. I am an early riser so getting up and not disturbing anyone was not a problem. Having a washer and dryer to use was fantastic especially since four of our group were children. Being able to clean our beach towels was a must. Outside shower for rinsing off came in very handy. All in All this was a Fantastic place to Stay and Yes we would recommend it to every one. We will be making more trips to the Bahamas and will be staying at the Manor of Love, and highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for the comfort of being at home and having a nice vacation spot to do it at. Thank you Timothy and Linda for have such a wonderful place at such a reasonable rate.

the Bahamas are know to be overpriced. i have worked in the airline industry for 25 years and have avoided the Bahamas for this reason. In the last year i have been to Nassau 4 times. (i travel a lot) and this rental by far the best value on the island! i have stayed at a couple of other hotel/resorts on the island all at a higher cost and not even close to the same comfort level. get the car with the rental. its not possible to rent a car for the price offered with the apt. the photo does not do the beach justice. it is the best most user friendly beach i have seen. (dead calm water) we had a 2 year old with us and she loved it. I am really into snorkling and there is quite a bit to see right off the beach. i will travel to Nassau several more times in the next year and this will be the first place i will go for a rental. if you stay somewhere else you will pay more (resorts like Blue water and all others charge per person charges and resort charges so what looks like the same price as this will soon end up being 50-$75 per night more) i have only met the Treco's kids (Jordan and Adam) and they are great! very helpful. not your average kids.

A very nice house/apartment with plenty of space, safe, clean and with a good working AC. Everything was well maintained and Internet WiFi had good coverage. - The beach behind the house was our favorite. Having access to a car is highly recommended as most things are a little drive a way; Cable Beach nearest shop area. Downtown and Paradise Island are further away and one visit to each was enough for us. Stuart Cove dive center was ca 15-20 minutes away. Traffic was light and easy to deal with, as long as you keep to the left. We had a great stay and the owners were perfect to deal with. Airport pickup and drop off is a welcome service! - We were an extended family with 5 adults, ages 20 - 67, that visited in August for diving and leisure.

We had a wonderful time, had the car to use at our disposal, toured the whole island and saw so many sites that are so memorable. The beach in front of the house was spectacular, sand for kids and coral reefs for us to explore the sealife and fish. Scuba gear was awesome for us to use, I just wish the Kayak would have been there for us to use too. Plenty of beach towels for us. We would recommend this place with anyone with kids, our 3 young ones had the best time and nobody wanted to leave!

I took all my adults kids on this 9 day vacation and we stayed at the Manor of Love. I can't describe what a fantastic time we had. The accommodations were excellent and we were a mere 20 second walk to the beach. The snorkeling was better than Hawaii. I was totally surprised how secluded the beach was. I highly recommend Manor of Love. The only problem .... I didn't want to leave :)

This vacation was excellent for our family. We went their to celebrate the graduation of our oldest child. The owners, Timothy and his wife, were very hospitable (they live in one of the units behind this rental). The unit was simple but clean and comfortable. Our family consists of my wife and I and our five children between 6 and 18 and it accommodated us well. The beach area was private and there was hardly anyone else on it. We literally had the beach to ourselves quite often. Snorkeling was good - about 100 yards out there was a nice array of aquatic life to view. Getting around on the island is strait forward, although going into town during rush hour gets congested and backed up. Grocery prices are high on the island, but we found it still much more affordable to cook than go out. We found the grocery going further west on the island more convenient. There was a nice Weber grill with full tank of gas which is shared with the other top unit of the two story structure. We could not tell that anyone was in the top rental (quiet and private). Overall, if you like a quiet beach oriented vacation with nice renters - this is a great choice.

We litteraly had the beach to ourselves quite often.

My husband and I along with another couple rented the apartment for a week. The facility was very nice and spacious. It was clean and well maintained. The kitchen is well equiped with dishes, toaster, blender, microwave, and spices. The beds are comfortable and the bedding is very nice. The bathrooms are decent size and the bath towels and beach towels were plush. It takes 30 seconds to walk from the house to the beautiful beach -- and I would say it was the most beautiful beach on the island. The color of the water is the most unbelievable shades of aqua blue and green -- awesome. Timothy and Linda have provided nice lounge chairs and tables for use on the beach. There is a large, new gas grill for grilling. We used the snorkling equipment and it was also in good condition. The walk along the beach from the house down to Compass Point was about 3/4 of a mile and was safe to walk alone. The car was a great value. We frequently drove into town and all around the island. The grocery stores and liquor stores were only a short drive from the house and Nassau was only about 20+ minutes depending on traffic -- during morning and evening work comute time the traffic was very heavy and could take around 45+ minutes. We ate at several restaurants close to the house -- Compass Point, Traveler's Rest, the Fish Fry. The food was good at all the places. The best conch salad was under the bridge at the Blue Hole where you will enjoy the company of Cheryl and Roosevelt who definitely will welcome you to the Bahamas. You can also get produce at a good price under the bridge. Don't miss the daiquiri stand by the caves -- the daiquiries were made with fresh fruit and were excellent. If you haven't been to New Providence Island before, you are in for a real treat. The Bahamian people are very friendly and welcome the tourist. We felt safe no matter where we were. The atmosphere is very laid back -- no hustle and bustle. Make sure you visit the straw market and be prepared to barter. We took a drive to Paradise Island for a few hours. It was nice but we preferred Nassau and were glad we had chosen to stay at a rental vs. a resort. I would highly recommend Manor of Love. You can't beat the price for the accomodations, airport pickup and drop off, and the price of using the car. We plan to travel back in the Spring with our children and granddaughter. Hope this review helps you in making a decision. Enjoy your holiday to the Bahamas!

We stayed at the manor of love for a wedding, traveling with my in-laws, and 2 year old daughter. This property was amazing and met all of our needs. The photos really do not do this place justice. We rented the car and were able to tour the entire island. The snorkling truely is wonderful and even better its right out the door. In our adventures of turing all that Nassau had to offer, we took our daughter swimming with dolphins, visited the zoo for a flamingo dance and bird feeding. Explored the many beaches, shopping areas and resorts. After viewing the resorts and beaches- you really do realize how blessed you are to stay at the manor! Though I would highly suggest if traveling with kids do the dolphin encounter and the zoo! For grocery shopping we found that the layford cay grocery store located much closer to the property (west end) is actually much cheaper on everything and less busy. We ate out some, at the fish fry and Compass point, we felt that all the food we ate out was sub-par (at best)- The best meal we ate on our trip was fish from the fish market cooked on the grill at the Manor of Love. After spending a chunck of time on the outter islands on other trips, we felt down-town nassau with people constantly trying to scam you of your money, leaves a very sour taste when considering to return to the bahamas. Staying at the Manor of Love really makes you greatful to have a place away from it all and enjoy just a taste of what the outter islands have to offer. Timothy and his family were wonderful! If you are planning your trip there is no question that this is the place to stay!

My friends and I stayed in this three-bedroom apartment right on a private, beautiful beach. The apartment was much nicer than expected with nice furniture, pictures, bathrooms, etc. The owner lets you use a car for very minimal cost so there is a perfect balance between getting away from all the tourist bustle on the one hand and easy accessibility to Cable Beach, downton Nassau, and Paradise Island on the other. Highly recommenmded for both cost and quality. It would be equally as great for a couple, a family with kids, or a group of friends.

I have recommended this property to my family and friends. It was well maintained and clean. It was great having the use of a van as it was a little distance from centre of town. The beach was beautiful and uncrowded and the snorkelling was amazing. There were many fine restaurants and the one we would highly recommend is Cafe Matisse. We are looking forward to returning next year. Marilyn

My husband and I were looking for a relaxing private vacation and this was just perfect. The beach was literally a few steps away, beautiful and private. the place is a little far from downtown, but that didnt bother us, we just drove there for dinner. A ten minute drive takes you to jaws beach which is absolutely amazing... we would never have found that beach if we stayed at a regular hotel by downtown. The place was very clean and had all the necessary appliances. I just wish our blender was working as we were all set to make pina coladas!! Beautiful beach, clean spacious and private, good location depending on what type of vacation you are looking for.

My family, friends, and myself enjoyed staying at the Manor of Love. The beach home was very comfortable and was much more than what was described on the site when we booked. Visually, it looks much better than the pictures, I was blown away by how turquoise the water really is in contrast the pictures. The interior of the home was also very nice, and roomier than what was expected. The bathrooms are larger than what they appear to be, and there is even a 3rd bathroom that has outdoor access which is really nice. Tim and his family supply guests with nice beach chairs, a kayak, and many other nice things we all enjoyed, especially the snorkeling gear. When I snorkeled a few feet off our beach I felt as if I was watching the discovery channel, it was truly amazing. The car rental from Timothy was very helpful, though there is a bus that runs and stops at compass point, a very short and enjoyable walk from the home. Many times the bus drivers stop and ask you if you want a ride as well. Though I recommend the car for independence as well as reliability, since the bus shuts down at various hours, and many times early. We have many beautiful memories from Nassau and I really could not see us staying in a better place with such hospitable rental owners and wonderful neighbors (from other units). One would be foolish not to consider this beach home. Whenever I go back to The Bahamas I will definitely book with the Manor of Love before any other rental.

Our family of 6 (including 4 teenagers) thoroughly enjoyed our xmas vacation at Manor of Love. Steps from your door is the white sand beach and beautiful turquoise water. The unit itself was very clean and nicely decorated, with plenty of room for all. The washer/dryer was a big plus, as were the second bathroom and the second TV. The kitchen has all of the necessary utensils for cooking all of your meals in, which we did. However, most of the dishes and glasses are for adults, so if you have small children you may want bring a few kid friendly plates/bowls. Our host Tim, and his family, could not have been more hospitable. During our stay, Tim brought in a new set of beach reclining lounge chairs and 2 new sets of snorkeling gear. I would absolutely recommend renting the minivan for the week for the convenience of getting groceries and traveling to/from Nassau and around the island. There is good snorkeling right off the beach, approx. 50 yards out, and off the beach in front of Nirvana (2 lots to the right). We arrived as a storm was passing through, so the wind made the water a little choppy and reduced the visibilty for couple of days. I did find some nice schools of fish in the rock beds and I met a native Bahamian snorkeling for lobster off Nirvana. For beginning snorkelers, I would recommend Jaws Beach about 10 minutes down the road to the West (snorkel to the left of the parking lot around the cove). Love beach has a lot of privacy and is safe, as there is virtually no public access except at Compass Point at the far end of the beach. The only drawback is that the unit is on the flight line for landing at the airport. Certain times of the day there will be planes coming in succession. It did not really bother me, but others may be more noise sensitive. Otherwise, the beach is peaceful and relaxing. I hope to return someday and would recommend Manor of Love for familes or groups up to 6. The unit can sleep 8 but it would a tight fit. Cheers to Tim and his family!

Timothy , his wife Linda and their kids are absolutely perfect hosts. We travelled with our 2 year old daughter and enjoyed every minute of it. Tim was so forthcoming to get us a car seat and a play pen for our stay. Pick-up and drop-off at the airport was another added benefit. The apartment was in immaculate condition and we felt home instantaneously. The beach felt more like a private beach - stunning! The beach furniture needs minor repairs but was sufficient! We didn't give 5 stars because we would have loved to have a little table and a small grill outside to enjoy the sunsets. Thank you for all your hospitality!

We wanted a low-key week away from home with easy access to sun, sand, snorkeling and swimming. We wanted to drift around the area and see how the residents live, how the streets hum and what the locals eat. Man, this was ideal; it's not a hotel, it's a home. It has a great sandy beach only a few yards away; you'll appreciate the security of a gated street entrance; restaurants are only a few minutes away. Things you've gotta' do: 1. cracked conch - every place serves it but it's really fun going down to the Arawak Fish Fry to enjoy it. 2. grilled lobster 3. snorkeling at Jaws Beach (only 5 minute drive away) 4. rent Timothy's van (so you can boot around the island) 5. get down to the Straw Market area. 6. don't bring a ton of clothes - the house has great appliances and lots of room. 7. if you've got kids, being on the beach front is uber important 'cuz the crossing the road can be a challenge. 8. have a communication plan with your family; our cell phones were a pain; thankfully, we had a couple of wi-fi capable units that enabled us to email/facebook with our kids back home. If we do go to the Bahamas again, we'd gladly call Timothy up again to bunk at the Manor of Love as it was ideal and he's a wonderful host. We're not big resort fans and the quiet solitude offered at the Manor of Love is well worth the price. Enjoy.

The Manor of Love is a simple cottage perfectly situated on a quiet strip of beach and removed from the hussle and bussle of town, but close enough to get there easily. Timothy and Linda were fantastic hosts by helping with airport pick-up and drop-off, showing us some local grocery shopping that made our stay very conveneint, and offering some local insights that made our sight seeing ideal for our family. The kids loved snorkeling and playing on the beach and we all enjoyed relaxing under the palm trees.

Me, my wife and 2 kids (16 and 11 y.o.) spent a week (Aug. 28 to Sept. 4, 2009) here. It was a real pleasure to stay in this house: the place is really wonderful, sand and beach are fantastic, much more than what you can see in the pictures. Out from the confusion of the city, a very quite location, and if you want to relax it is the right place. In the house there is all you need (kitchen, towels, high speed internet wi-fi connection, air conditioned, fans, etc., and even a kayak to go out in the sea), and all works perfectly. A car is needed to go around, since supermarket and restaurants are not at walking distance. The hospitality ot Timothy was great, he gave us a lot of perfect indications on what to do and how, and he also provided us a car at a very good price (much less than rental agencies). It is a pleasure to suggest the house to my friends, and we will be more than happy to come back again! Highly recommended.

Absolutely perfect and exactly what we were looking for in our vacation. The accomodations were wonderful! Very nice, clean and loaded with amenities. The location on the beach was amazing. We mostly had the entire stretch of beach to ourselves. And what a beach! The water was still and clear...JUST GORGEOUS!! And of course, the owners were very nice and accomodating. We had rented the minivan, which was very convenient. It was very easy to get to all the tourist spots, including Paradise Island. The Bahamas has the most amazing food. We mostly ate at the Fish Fry's. Seafood Haven was our favorite. Be warned though, that grocery shopping is very expensive. We will definately be back!

My nearly-adult children (21 and 17) and I spent a week at Manor of Love and had a wonderful time. The beach is beautiful, calm, and relatively quiet (although not deserted as some have remarked). The apartment was just as described -- it was extremely clean and well cared for, there was more than enough room AND it was right on the beach. The kids were happy with the two televisions and wireless internet access. We had a problem with the sewage system the first day and Timothy was immediately responsive and it was fixed within a day. The Trecos and Angela were super helpful and wanted us to have a perfect trip. Love Beach is pretty far from downtown Nassau so access to the van was was absolutely necessary to get around and see everything. It was great to be able to see the different parts of Nassau, but come back to a clean, quiet, and uncrowded place to relax. It was good snorkeling as well. We were looking forward to seeing downtown and the straw market, but it was truly overwhelming. Atlantis is a must-see, but crowded and expensive. The prices in Nassau verge on outrageous, so staying in a place that is reasonably priced and where we could cook our own meals made the trip affordable. We definitely recommend this place for a worry-free and relaxing vacation. Only one suggestion -- new beach chairs would be nice. Most of the chairs were broken and unusable. The airport is very close and we got to know the flight patterns and planes pretty well, but it didn't disrupt our beach enjoyment and we couldn't hear the planes inside the apartment. Thank you for a great trip!

We rented the place on the first floor July 1 to 8, there 6 of us plus a baby and the place is fantastic. The condo was nice a spacious for 6 people, extremely clean and very comfortable. My father is elderly and had no problem walking to and from the beach. All the pictures are what you get in real life, the only picture that does not do it justice is the beach. The beach is beautiful and was practically deserted when we were there, the water is clear blue and literally less than 500 yards away, seemed very private to us. There is a kayak and volleyball net, the place next door Nirvana also rents snorkel gear but we brought our own. We also reserved the car which came in extremely handy for going downtown to explore the island as well as for groceries. The owner was super nice and extremely helpful. Overall was a great vacation and I would highly recommend the MOL to everyone and would definitely go there again.

My family and I just returned from the Bahamas and our stay on Cable Beach at MOL. It was absolutely wonderful and relaxing. The place had everything we needed and Timothy couldn't have been nicer picking up from the airport. The beach is AMAZING!!! We had the beach to ourselves most of the vacation like your own private getaway. It is true the pictures don't do it justice. We opted for the car rental as well and it was perfect for 6 adults and a baby. It was very easy to get around and explore the island. We are so thankful to Timothy, his family, and Angela for making our stay such a pleasant one! We will back there again for sure!

If you are looking for late nights, loud people, flashy Las Vegas-style accommodations, and the corporate fabricated "fun" of Paradise Island, then Manor of Love is NOT for you. If, however, you want a quiet, relaxing time on a beautiful, near-private beach in a waterfront property that is clean, well appointed, and comfortable, then you should really take a look at this place. The owner, Timothy Treco, and his family, are as nice as anyone you'd ever care to meet, and were most accommodating and helpful with all aspects of the rental process and our stay. I felt I was taking a bit of a gamble booking over the Internet a property I had never seen (or had not been personally recommended to me), and I cannot overstate what a pleasure it was finding that upon arrival all was as advertised - and the service was even better. Advice regarding your stay: 1) Do NOT go to the Poop Deck Restaurant unless you like the name so much you want a shirt with their logo. The prices are high (to be fair, there is virtually no restaurant in Nassau that is not overpriced), the service is moderate, and the food is pedestrian at best. 2) DO go to the Beach Club Cafe - entrees are similarly priced, but the service, food, atmosphere and view are all infinitely better. 3) If you want a uniquely quaint and non-American experience, go to the Ardastra Zoo and Gardens. A little down-at-the-heel, but you get closer (touching distance) to the animals than any any place I've ever seen in the US. Ardastra is particularly good for kids under 12. 4) Check out the Straw Market downtown. You'll only ever need to go once, but it will make you appreciate your own lifestyle when you get home.

Manor of love is well located. The beach is a few steps from the house. Love beach is the best beach of New Providence Island! The scenery is breathtaking! We were almost alone during our stay (2 weeks). The entire beach for ourselves! It is great for young children and seniors. There are no waves and they can walk and play safely into the water. We were 3 adults (including the grand-mother) and 2 young children (3 years old and almost 12 months). The sea is blue and turquoise. Every morning, we walked by the beach from Manor of love to Compass Point and most of the time we didn’t met anyone. Also, we brought our snorkelling gears and we snorkelled every day in front of Manor of love or near Compass Point just in front of the 2 grey buildings. We saw reefs, a lot of type of colourful fishes, rays, lobster, spider crab, squids... and a reef shark (it was a little inoffensive shark, below a rock and didn’t move). The housekeeper came 3 times during our stay, and it was very clean. We rented owner’s van for 2 weeks and it was very convenient. The owner has done his best to respond to all our requests, getting a safety car seat, a playpen for our baby and also a beach umbrella. We missed the beach and the sea! Merci beaucoup à Timothy et Angela ! Manor of love a répondu à tous nos besoins. .

We stayed one week with our 2 children (ages 12 & 14) and had a fabulous, relaxing time! The beach is awesome - and the water is a beautiful turquoise color! You can see the water from the french doors of the place and you literally walk out onto what feels like a private beach (you see an occasional passer-by). We brought our snorkeling gear and saw beautiful fish/coral on the reef, that is only about 50 feet from the water's edge! We found beautiful shells and a few sea biscuits while beach combing in the mornings. The accommodations were spacious and everything was neat and clean. We used the kitchen for breakfasts and lunches, and found it to be adequately equipped with the utensils needed. The furnishings were very comfortable with much appreciated amenities such as nice, thick bath towels, beach towels, cable tv and high speed wireless internet. The owners (Timothy & Linda) were very gracious - we really enjoyed getting to know them! They provided us with a map, a list of local restaurants and phone numbers to contact them if we needed anything. They also provided round trip transportation to and from the airport which was very considerate. We did opt to rent the van during our stay, which made getting around the island much easier. Would highly recommend this property!

The pictures of this place do not do it justice! Granted, it looks nice online, you will be more than pleasantly surprised when you arrive. The home is tiled and has spacious bathrooms. All the important things you are likely to forget at home are already provided, such as beach towels and toiletries. Looking out the two french doors while enjoying breakfast and a cup of coffee, staring at a beautiful turquoise sea and white sand is something you just don't get tired of doing! Snorkeling is great and you can see a variety of fish just a few yards from the beach! Most days we were the only ones on the beach, with an occasional "passer-by" walking along the beach. It's like having your own private beach! One day we watched nearby windsurfers darting across the water - what great entertainment! Less than a mile away is Compass Point, a restaurant with amazing food! Also nearby is Traveller's Rest, where you can enjoy an amazing banana daiquiri and crack'd conch. The airport is convenient, about 3 miles away. If you head towards town, you can find roadside stands selling native fruits, including sopadillas (when in season/spring & summer), which are soft & sweet and resemble a kiwi in appearance. In addition to all the amenities and wonderful location of this home, there is also the pleasure of having the owners and housekeeper nearby. You are given phone numbers to reach all of them! You can tell they really care and want your stay to be the best it can be. We have already recommended Manor of Love to family and friends and will be heading back as soon as we can!

An exhilarating and yet extremely relaxing experience awaits anyone who chooses this amazing home to stay! The whole house provides many amenities such as very comfortable beds, roomy bathrooms, excellent kitchen facility along with very nice washer/dryer. Living room has the best view of the beach and ocean through two French doors which is second to none. The owner may just be the most accommodating person you will ever meet. He was more than willing to provide any and all information and meet your every need. He provided contact and local attraction information which was very helpful in a more pleasing stay. I am more than happy to recommend this wonderful place to ANYONE who expects to enjoy their vacation! Anyone can get MORE for their money when renting this location. With access to local restaurants, shopping, tourist sites but yet close to your own private beach, you cannot go wrong with choosing this beautiful location. The kayak, clean bathrooms, beach towels, and very clean home are more than adequate...the housekeeping better than one ccan expect. The local residents, servers at restaurants, and staff at the airport which is fairly close to this location are very friendly who seem to enjoy welcoming visitors to the island. Again, the owner made our stay even better! He is very friendly and genuinely wants your stay in the Bahamas to be a memorable and one you'll always remember as the best time in your life! I would recommend this place to my mother! This place deserves better than the five star rating! I cannot express how much we enjoyed our stay on this beautiful island except for saying this was like being at a "home away home"! I personally want to thank the owner for his warm and friendly hospitality who I would welcome to come stay at my home in Texas!
