Just minutes from the mountain, the very best of "happy hours" can be spent with friends and family in the hot tub while enjoying a colorful sunset, the views of PICO's mountaintop trails or an unexpected snow squall. A "must do" after a day on the mountain.
With a living/dining room, kitchen, two bedrooms (Queen and Twin Bunk Bed) and a full bath on the upper level and family room, two bedrooms (Twin Beds and Single over a Double Bunk Bed), full bath and laundry on the lower level, there is plenty of room to socialize with the gang or sneak away for some quiet time with a good book or movie.
In addition to the hot tub deck off the family room on the lower lever, there is a deck off the dining area with a gas grill and picnic table. For your convenience, a locked ski closet is located next to the front door and the parking area.

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2004
John is a retired electrician and I am hoping to retire in the next few years from my position as manager of a small credit union. We love the outdoors and spending time with our friends and grandchildren. Purchasing a home in Killington gave us an opportunity to do much more than ski Killington. The fall is beautiful and the hiking is unlimited. Summer is cooler and less humid than Pennsylvania, our home state. We continue to enjoy exploring the state of Vermont from our cozy home base in Killington.
Why the Owner Chose Killington
John and I have enjoyed skiing at Killington for over twenty years with our family first and now with friends as well. The lessons at Killington helped me gain confidence and eventually the ability to ski with my family. Killington has something for every level of skier. It is so easy to interact with each other on the mountain whether you are an expert or beginner. Vermont is beautiful and unexplored territory for us.
The Unique Benefits of this House
The house is snuggled into a nice wooded lot which isolates it from the hustle and bustle of the access road to Killington but is close enough to enjoy easy access to the mountain, shops, restaurants and night life. It is also closely located to the Long Trail which is part of the Appalachian Trails.

8 of us (4 couples) rented the house for New Year's eve weekend, and were so happy with everything about it. We each had our own room. The dining/living area and kitchen are perfect for making meals while hanging out. Jacuzzi was great. And the location overall was perfect. It's cozy, but super comfortably, and I would definitely stay here again! Everyone loved it.
Owner response:Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We are always happy to hear that our guests have enjoyed the house and the time that they have spent there. We look forward to hearing from you again.

Cottage was just what we were looking for, very cozy but plenty of room. Loved the fireplace and hot tub. the location and views are great. The owners could not have been accommodating they were super easy to deal with we had a great time.
Owner response:The views in the winter are wonderful and magical when it is snowing. I happen to love the summer and fall because I feel like I am in a tree house. Every window provides a view of the tree tops. We enjoy working with our guests to make their visit to our home in Vermont memorable. We look foward to hearing from you again.

This wonderful property allowed us to bring our dogs along on our annual ski trip to Killington. Close to all the mountain activities but away from the crowds. Great layout, clean and well appointed.
Owner response:We are pet friendly and have not regretted the decision to allow pets. Our guests have always been very mindful of maintaining the condition of the house and managing their pets to do so. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit and hope to hear from you again.

My family had an awesome time staying here during our spring break for some last of winter fun at Killington. We actually got 6 inches of fresh snow! The bedrooms were perfectly suited to our family and we enjoyed the open floor plan of the upstairs and the private hot tub on the back deck of the lower level. The family room in the lower lever worked out great for late night movie watchers! A wonderful place in a wonderful location and dealing with the owners was easy and they were very helpful with any questions we had along the way! We'd go again in a heartbeat!
Owner response:We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your trip to Vermont. This was our best year as far as weather and having wonderful people enjoy our home and the mountain. We are always working to improve the house. This year we are replacing appliances in the kitchen, putting up a flatscreen TV in the living room and adding WIFI. The hot tub cover took abit of a beating so that will be replaced as well. I look forward to hearing from you again.

Myself and five friends (all in our late 20's) had the house for Presidents Week and really enjoyed ourselves. While, as noted, it does look small when you pull up, it really is much larger when you get inside! We arrived to find the house in really great shape--very clean and very comfortable! The kitchen had everything we needed, the stereo system sounded great, and the fireplace was perfect to sit in front of with a nice glass of scotch. Both bathrooms were spotless and the hot water stayed hot as long as you needed it to. The grill cooked us a couple perfect steaks (good meat at the market btw) and to top it all off, the hot tub made everything perfect at the end of the day--we turned ourselves into prunes every night. The cottage itself was is in a great location if you want to hit the bars (Terry from Gramps taxi got to know us well) and they kept the road plowed well when it snowed. Couldn't have had a better time! Pat and John were a pleasure to deal with and would definitely recommend them and their place to anyone looking for a good time in Killington!!
Owner response:Your appreciation of our home is so welcomed. We have put alot of time and energy into making this a comfortable and inviting home. Your comments have inspired us to continue to strive for a higher level of satisfaction. It is also good to hear that our property manager and the cleaning people are doing a great job. We will pass your comments on to them. We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit to our home in Vermont and look forward to hearing from you again.

We rented this property for a mountain getaway this past summer and had a wonderful stay. The accommodations are first class, with two floors and lots of room for a large family. It was a great find, very conveniently located just off the Killington access road on a very quiet cul-de-sac.
Owner response:Thank you for taking the time to comment on your visit to our home in Vermont. We are so happy tp hear that you enjoyed your stay. I also enjoy the fact the we are on a quiet cul-de-sac but very close to the action on the access road and the mountain. Hope to hear from you during the ski season.

What a wonderful cottage! We were able to rent for a long weekend with our family and the grandparents while we attended a wedding in Killington. The cabin has that quaint New England charm and we were thrilled to be able to bring our dog with us. Thank you for sharing your place with our family!

My friends and I spent an amazing weekend at John and Pat's cabin last February! The cabin is adorable-- cozy and well decorated. The bathroom and bedroom doors make you feel as if you are in you own quaint cottage! Awesome fireplace, comfy couches and everyone fit at the dining table for meals! The size of the cabin is also much larger on the inside, there's a downstairs and a well sized hot tub! The kitchen was roomy and well equipped! We had no problem making pancakes and eggs in the morning. Thanks John and Pat! Until next year! Geraldine :)
Owner response:Thank you for your wonderful response, This was our first year renting on our own and we are excited by the response. Our house was well cared for, everyone had a great time and we enjoyed interacting with all of our guests. Hope to hear from you next year.

We spent a week at the Sundowner and it was by far the prettiest vacation home we've ever rented. The open layout upstairs is terrific and the extra family room downstairs is great if you have two families. We loved the mountain views, especially from the large hot tub. The owners were a delight to rent from and we would definitely rent from them again. It was very clean and even nicer in person than the pictures. It looks deceptively small when you arrive, but there is actually a lot of room. The outside ski shed was an added bonus. It's also very close to Killington and all the restaurants on the Access Road. We also appreciated having all the kitchen cooking utensils we needed. The beautiful decor of the house gives you such a calm and peaceful feeling. Very relaxing house to stay in.
Owner response:Thank you fso much for taking the time to comment on your visit to our home in VT. I am finding that one of the benefits of working directly with our guests is that we get to meet alot of very nice people. We worked very hard to make our house comfortable so it is wonderful and well worth it to hear that people feel that when they spend time at Sundowner. Hope to hear from you next year.
