Enjoy the ocean in our newly constructed two bedroom beachfront casita that offers spectacular ocean views and authentic Mexican furnishings and construction.

Besides being a private home (not condo), what sets this home apart is a prime location in the middle of Santiago Bay and the rustic charm of palapa living. In addition to the main casita, a second 20’ x 20’ open-air palapa located next to the sea wall offers a dining area and simple outdoor kitchen with sink and gas grill. Attached to this outdoor palapa is a bathroom with shower. The simple but clean casita has two bedrooms, a dining/kitchenette area, and a small living room area. Authentic “rustico” furniture and Mexican dishes, glassware, and decorations add to your experience. Appliance and cookware are all newly purchased. Air conditioning, high speed internet connection, and an extra inflatable queen size air mattress are provided as well.

Situated on a gently sloping sandy beach, children and adults will enjoy safe swimming, body boarding, stunning sunsets, and few foreign tourists. The three mile long beach is also perfect for walks, playing in the surf, or watching fishermen in pangas lay their nets. At times dolphins and whales are visible. The Mexican community of Santiago is two blocks away. Here you can explore a traditional market with fresh produce and seafood; you can also board inexpensive taxis or buses to various sites including two large nearby “American style” grocery stores.

Our friendly English-speaking caretakers, Armando and Lupita, will greet you upon your arrival at our Casita de la Playa. Lupita (or a friend) is available to prepare a traditional Mexican breakfast and lunch if you wish for an extra $30 a day.

Purified drinking water and all bed linens are provided. Please bring your own towels. The casita is cleaned every week but more frequent cleanings are available on request. Smoking is not permitted inside the casita and no pets are allowed.

    • Location: The town of Manzanillo (pop. 100,000) is located between Puerto Vallarta and Acapulco on the Pacific coast of Mexico. Manzanillo, with warm and wonderful people, still holds traditional Mexican flavor and is considered one of the safest cities in Mexico. Santiago is in the northern quiet end of Manzanillo, close to many great seaside restaurants and local taco stands. World-class fishing and highly rated golf courses are nearby. A short 15 minute drive puts you in Manzanillo Centro with its great shopping, market, and local life. Direct flights are available to Manzanillo (ZLO) from most major cities in the US and Canada. Our casita is located 25 miles south of the airport. At times, less expensive flights are available to Puerto Vallarta or Guadalajara.

Why the Owner Chose Manzanillo

When this beautiful beachfront property became available our family moved immediately to make the purchase. We loved the traditional Mexican setting, low crime rate, and the friendliness and warmth of the people. The relaxed living and easy access to taxis and buses was a benefit as well. The established ex-pat community helped us navigate the construction and furnishing of our casita. The fact that Manzanillo is not overly touristy added to the appeal of this location.
