The casita was exactly as described. It was perfect for my family. Everything was clean and comfortable. The beach was just a few feet away. The ocean waves were wonderful to listen to as we went to sleep each night. We loved that you provided cookware, beach toys, board games and even books for all ages. We were able to walk to the local market each day and it was also easy to catch a bus or taxi. We grilled fresh fish and enjoyed the outdoor eating. The outdoor bathroom was no problem. Armando was available if we needed anything. Beautiful sunsets!

I came back home on Sunday and would gladly turn around and head back to your Casita. It was simply delightful. Your accommodations were excellent - the phots and description are 100% authentic. We loved the outdoor kitchen/eating area. Armando was extremely helpful with the airport shuttle and checking in daily. We received surprises of salsa, dinners and excellent tips. He helped us shop and deliver donations after the hurricane. We met his wife and 2 of his sons - very warm and caring people. The weather was spectacular. The beach at Club Santiago was easy to get to and fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and your piece of Heaven in Manzanillo.

Spent 3 days at the casita and had an amazing time. The house is in great condition, the beach is only a few feet away, and the owners are a pleasure to deal with.Everything you need for a nice stay is provided, including cookware, beach toys, and even bored games for a late night in. We highly recommend the casita on the beach to anyone who's looking to spend a nice, quiet time in Manzanillo.

The Casita was just as advertised a "real haven" to get away from it all. Enjoyed the walks on the beach and listening to the crashing waves that lulled us to sleep. Armando made us feel at home and we had every thing we needed for our week's escape. Thanks Jay, we will return.

We stayed for two weeks in December and it seemed far too short for such a wonderful place. The amenities were as promised and the view is spectacular, especially sunsets! I have been to this particular area of Mexico many times throughout the years and found the location of the Casita to be very convenient for those without a car and on a truly gorgeous stretch of beach. Would highly recommend this property and the very helpful owners. Looking forward to a return visit soon.

Jay, I can't suggest a thing to do different....Your casita is perfect!!! The drive in was a bit challenging only because it was dark and we were not familiar with the area. Funny thing...every time we stopped to ask how much farther (no one in our family speaks Spanish) the answer was always the same...about 2 more hours!!! It got to be a standing joke for the rest of the trip. I want you to know how extraordinary Armando and Lupita are. Our vacation was enlightened by their hospitality, friendliness and genuine willing to serve our EVERY NEED!!! They are truly wonderful people and we feel very blessed to have met them. We look forward to traveling in that part Mexico in the future and hope to be able to find flights a little closer then Puerto Vallarta. Thank you so much for sharing your casita with us. We as a family have never bonded so well with the outdoor kitchen and bath working perfectly. Other then my husband stepping on a stingray (nothing serious) the trip was picture perfect, weather included. Thanks again for a wonderful vacation!!!! Jack, Shirley, Jessica and Amanda also Adam and Sean!

La Casita de la Playa is a comfy place for relaxing indoors and outdoors. It is clean, well-stocked with dishes for cooking, and has numerous places to lounge in sun and shade overlooking the beach and surf. We were looking for an experience that was not a canned resort, but rather one that gives us a feel for the culture and the flexibility to explore on foot . We got what we were looking for. We were able to walk to the fresh food markets every day, and we walked a good portion of the beaches and the nearby commercial thruway. We enjoyed cooking and eating outdoors, and of course being able to be outside as soon as we got up in the morning and stay outside until going to bed. The local property managers are outstanding--they were available for any questions and checked in every other day to water the landscaping and see to our needs.

I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful experience we had staying at your place in Manzanillo. Everything was perfect except for the limited time that we had to stay. We went scuba diving, shopping, eating, and best of all, played on the beach. Your casita is beautiful, well equipped and well taken care of! We had absolutely no issues. Armando and Lupita were wonderful, friendly and so helpful. We are planning on returning next year but are intending to stay longer. Thanks again!

We had a wonderful time at the Casita and in the Santiago area of Manzanillo. We were forturnate enough to have an entire two weeks to spend at the Casita. My husband and I were joined by our two children the first week and brother and sister-in-law the second week. It was great to be able to just walk a few steps to the beach and use the boogie boards at the Casita. We also enjoyed watching the waves and beautiful sunsets from the yard of the Casita. Snorkling in the area was great. The Casita had everything we needed. We enjoyed a lot of meals in the outdoor kitchen. The second week was Semana Santa and the beach area around the Casita was less crowded than some of the other beaches and was very quiet in the evening. Wonderful place to enjoy Semana Santa without being overwhelmed by huge crowds. Very close to all the shopping in Santiago especially the Saturday market. Not to far from Manzanillo either. The caretakers were great and made sure we had everything we needed. Hopefully we will be back again to enjoy the Casita and Santiago.

My first trip to Mexico was such a wonderful experience and made possible by the Rasmussens. Armando and Lupita took very good care of us and the stories I’ve heard about the Casita de la Playa by Roberta were much more than I could imagine. I would love to return in 2011 for another stay in Manzanillo. What a great city and the hospitality of the local people are more than you can ask for.

We loved 'Casita De la Playa' so much we booked it for the same time next year and have told many friends and relatives what a wonderful place to visit. The Santiago Bay is very clean and the casita is furnished with everything you need, including binoculars for whale and dolphin watching and of course, blenders for your margaritas. There are maps and books on the area that are provided in the casita. I love the outdoor kitchen, one of my favorite places to sit and enjoy the ocean view. With the Palapa roof, you can hear the ocean all the time, and especially wonderful while you're sleeping. The casita is very clean and Jay, the owner, is very good with providing information to make your stay more enjoyable. With the main street just two blocks away, we caught a bus and visited downtown Manzanillo and Manzanillo Bay. We also saw the Iguana Sanctuary, which is very interesting. I also noticed that right down the beach is horseback riding, which I might try next visit. The locals are very friendly and are willing to point you in the right direction. You're close to restaurants and the beach is wonderful for walking. What a great place to visit. I have been all over the world but who would have thought that just a few hours away would be one of my favorite places to return to on a vacation. Thanks for providing such a great place to visit. Adios.

The only downside to staying in the Casita is now we are ruined for any other place. Our favorite things to do were going to the market, Lu Lu’s, walking the beach, sitting with our coffee, or having our dinner while watching the “wide screen” – a new show everyday. A highlight would be fishing with Hector and catching a Marlin. El Fogan and Juanitos were both great along with Tableau on the water. Too many restaurants and too little time when it’s hard to pull away from our own kitchen on the beach.

My first time in Mexico. Waking up to the ocean was fantastic and listening to the waves crash all through the night was both a powerful and calming sensation. The beach hut has been a beautiful experience. Thank you for the warm opportunity to embrace it all.

When we first arrived in Manzanillo we were warmly greeted by Armando and his wife Lupita. Entering the casita we noticed how clean and spacious it was, and how the outdoor palapa dining area allowed for sitting back and relaxing. This set the stage for an amazing trip. On our first morning Lupita cooked a delicious traditional Mexican breakfast of fresh juice & fruit, chilaquiles, eggs, and beans, yum yum yum. The casita was well equipped with everything we needed for our attempt at Mexican cooking. One of our favorite meals was fajitas. And even though our cooking proved edible, it was great to have authentic restaurants so close to the casita. Some of our favorite things to do were taking surf lessons at the beach, horseback riding, body boarding, snorkeling, and simply relaxing and enjoying the spectacular view. Staying in the casita provided easy access to the beach and the refreshing ocean water. Our experience in Manzanillo was fabulous and we look forward to a return visit soon.

My Cecilia and I really wanted a romantic time just for us---we finally found the perfect piece of paradise in this Manzanillo seaside cottage. the place, the people, the beach, and the sea were all divine. The Casita is adorable! There were only two people in my party but the house is easily big enough for a family of four. The host was sweet and generous but also let us have as much privacy as needed. Some basics: great big shower, wonderful outdoor well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, nice local furniture and pottery, hammock, a lot of room for great dinners and sunset watching. Location is amazing - the house is right on the beach - you can grab and boogie board and jump into a warm ocean in no time. The city - the casita is located about 20min drive from the actual city in the district called Santiago - great snorkeling, beach walks, local restaurants and art. Overall - great place! Thank you!
