Year Purchased: 2009
Why the Owner Chose Ajijic
I chose to buy a vacation rental in this location after living nine years downtown in the village. This location is at the edge of the village within walking distance to everything downtown and here you have the peace and tranquility of a tropical forest.
Here is where they teather many horses. They are avaialble to rent with or without guide.
The main outdoor plaza is where locals and tourists visit to relax, eat, enjoy an art show or watch the day pass by. There is a grand gazebo, a catholic church, restaurants, bars, bank and a community
Every Wednesday. You may purchase a variety of fresh fruits, meats, cheese, seafood, breads, coffee, clothing, arts and crafts, etc.
Here you may look out across the lake, walk along the esplanade, or sit and enjoy a drink or meal at the Tequilla Republic restaurant.
Cinema,Pharmacy,Boutique, Cafe,Salvador's Restaurant, El Torito Super Market.
Dinner and Live music overlooking the lake with the acoustic stylings of owner Roberto Cerda and other musicians.
You may take the bus to the towns of Chapala and Jocotepec, or walk and bike on the designated path along the street.
Piano Bar restaurant with good food in a comfortable setting. A local favorite.
There are many art galleries and boutiques along this Block.
A gathering area with beautiful grounds and many events and information for North Americans.
Owner's Map of Ajijic
I am a semi-retired engineer from the Boston area. In August 2000 I took a trip to the area for a week and fell in love with the climate and people here. I returned to the states to give work my notice and sell my home. That following March I was living here permanently. I spent most of my time just enjoying life, most recently in the last five of those years I remodeled owned and operated an affordable B&B offering inexpensive accommodations to inquiring retirees. I recently purchased and remodeled two personal homes and am now offering one to rent. I have traveled to many places and can't imagine a better area to live or vacation.
