We invite you to visit 'ALOFT.' We're located in a state park, and only 35% of Jekyll Island can be developed. We are surrounded by marshlands and the sea. Our property is situated on a quiet street, nestled between the marshlands and stately oak and pine forests. This beautiful 1000 square foot loft has a private entrance and on-site parking.
Just one minute away you'll discover the 18 miles of bike trails surrounding the island. You can bike to the fishing pier and beach and arrive in five minutes. Or, you may want to visit the Historic District, where over 300 millionaires once lived. They built homes and a Club House on our island, beginning in 1888. They typically spent 3-5 months down here yearly for the next 54 years. Their homes are being restored and many can be visited and appreciated.
We also have a world renowned Sea Turtle Center, where injured and sick turtles are flown in for surgeries and rehabilitation, and later released back to the sea. Bike toward the south and visit the Tidelands Nature Center, enjoy bird and wildlife viewing, or swim and sunbath on our 12 miles of white sand beaches. We have a seasonal Summer Waves Water Park, four famous golf courses, Red-bug Motorcar rentals, and carriage rides and trolley tours. Also, for the adventurous, scout out the hideaways of our local alligators! All this and so much more!
All activities are within minutes. Bed linens, towels and kitchen items are furnished. You bring food, toiletries and enjoy.
A 50% deposit is required for all stays and the balance is due 14 days prior to arrival. Deposit is non-refundable but may be used to change/reserve dates (pending availability) for up to one year after the original reservation date. Reservations less than 14 days prior to arrival require payment in full. 2 day minimum stay required for weekends. One day stays during the week will generate a cleaning fee of $35.

My wife and I spent two weeks at "Aloft" on Jekyll Is and thoroughly enjoyed the location, the comfort of the furnishings, the peace and quiet to be had, and the care with which Pam and Mike, the oweners oversaw the place. It was truly delifhtfull and provided us perfect access to the attractions of the surrounding islands and to the natural beauty that was to be found everywhere. Kitchen facitilies are a little limited making it difficult to cook as if you were at home or in a condo, but we were able to make out fine, even if it meant eating out a little more than we had planned. In all other respects, staying in "Aloft" was like staying at home. A wonderful place!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

This is a restful, well-located spot to stay if you are visiting Jekyll Is. It is very private, quiet, and the surroundings are warm and comfortable. We stayed for 2 weeks and recommend it highly.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

My husband and I went to the island for the Labor Day holiday. The Aloft is awesome!!!! At first I chose this one over other similar apt/cottages for the guest bikes, and Pam and Mike even found me a big kid bike since I wanted a small one. Although it turned out that my husband didn't like riding around in the mosquito season, we love love love our stay. My husband usually cannot sleep well if outside home, but here we slept tight. Thank you Pam and Mike!Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

We stayed two nights at this charming, cozy loft. It was private, quiet and comfortable, and we enjoyed it so much, we didn't want to leave! The owners clearly put some thought into this place, which is reflected in the decor (interesting furniture, family photos and personal momentos); the ample directions/recommendations for navigating Jekyll Island, and even two guest bikes to get around. They also left us a small basket with a bottle of wine and some fresh fruit ... we particularly appreciated the fruit after a week of sampling tasty, but rather heavy, Southern food! The island has a great network of bike paths, and the loft was only a short ride to the Jekyll Beach Club Hotel (10 minutes on bike) and the beach (15-20 minutes on bike). If we ever find ourselves in this area again, we would definitely try to stay here!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+, adventure seekers.

AWESOME,AWESOME,AWESOME! Those are the only words I can use to describe our stay at "Aloft". My husband and I would recommend this place to everyone. We wanted someplace quiet and private and we got it! We loved it. It was like living the "Swiss Family Robinson" life, with all the modern convienences. The hosts are very nice and helpful, they answered all of our questions, showed us where everything was and are very nice people to rent from. "Aloft" was very clean, in a very nice and quiet neighborhood and it suited us perfectly. We will go back to this same place the next time we are on Jekyll Island. This was our 3rd time to visit Jekyll and by far the best place for us! You will not be disappointed if you rent "Aloft".Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

This place was just perfect - charming, roomy, lovely location, friendly owners...the photos don't capture how big and light it is. It was perfect for us and our 6-year-old! They had bikes for us to use (even the 6-year-old) and we loved riding the bike trails on the island. The only people this would not be good for would be someone with disabilities, because there is a staircase to access the apartment. Stay here if you have the chance!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Aloft exceeded my expectations...it is VERY spacious&open, clean, full of light, comfortable, and is rented out by two of the kindest and most gracious "hosts" anyone could ever hope to have. I truly appreciated the calm&quiet there....and waking up looking out into the trees! It's walking distance to a bicycle trail, where you can walk or ride (thank you for the use of the bike!) under gorgeous old oaks and have a beautiful expansive view of the river&marsh&bridge along the way. The loft "apartment" is on a quiet street (great neighborhood for walking, too) that's also lined with ancient oaks, and it's easy driving distance (minutes) to the ocean, restaurants, a golf course, and the GA Sea Turtle Center & Historic District. I felt welcomed, at "home" in Aloft, and so renewed by all the natural beauty everywhere around the island. Nestled amid the treetops, a spot of unique ambience beckons the city dweller to come away. “Aloft” was all we were expecting and more, including Wi-Fi. Just got back from our stay on Jekyll Is. Aloft was a great place to stay. Roomy, comfortable homey atmosphere. Owners couldn't have been better. Provided everything we needed plus bikes. We had a wonderful time.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing.

"aloft" has everything you could think of to be comfortable. if something special is desired pam and mike do what they can to accommodate. my stay for the winter months was enjoyable and relaxing. personally i am into bridge (duplicate and social), hiking, kayaking, and swimming. there is plenty of space and the apartment is not boring, has a great setting with treetop views, private, and generally gives one the feeling of being in a treehouse. jekyll island is beautiful, historic, and offers a lot to do. it's conveniently located not far from brunswick and st. simons island. an ideal winter getaway. i shall return next winter. ted hutchinsonRecommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Parking Please park at the end of the driveway and not in front of the garage door. Do not park on the street. Parking is available for one guest vehicle. In the interest of full disclosure, please note the following limitations to “Aloft.” 1. “Aloft" is an open and airy unit with lots of natural light. 2. “Aloft" has a private entrance through our garage. 3. You may hear the garage door open and close at approximately 6:30 a.m. weekday mornings. Kitchen facilities are limited. 1. Cooking facilities are a toaster oven, a two burner hot-plate and a microwave. 2. The refrigerator is hotel sized. Jekyll Island Ordinances. Guests are subject to Jekyll Island ordinances and will pay all fines incurred for the violation of such ordinances. Cleaning Guests are expected to leave “Aloft” in the condition found upon arrival. Management will take care of laundry. A bill will be issued if “Aloft” requires excessive cleaning by management.

About the owner: Pam and Michael Mueller have lived in coastal Georgia for ten years. They met here in 1988, while studying law enforcement at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Brunswick, GA. At that point, they made a pact that if they were to marry one day, they would return to live in the Golden Isles. Seven years later their dreams came true! Michael continues working with law enforcement, now teaching Physical Training to Homeland Security students at FLETC. Pamela has become a children's author. She has written eight award-winning books and will release her first adult book in 2010. The Muellers bought a home with an 'undeveloped' loft and decided to refurbish it and turn it into a rental unit. This has turned into a delightful abode, and they very much enjoy sharing their little piece of paradise with others.
Why the Owner Chose Jekyll Island:
We remodeled the loft of our residence for our frequent guests and visiting family. When it is not occupied, we wanted to rent it out and share the magic of Jekyll Island with others who yearn to spend their free time in 'splendid paradise,' which incidentally, is the title of Pamela's new book and tells the story of Jekyll Island.
