AWESOME,AWESOME,AWESOME! Those are the only words I can use to describe our stay at "Aloft". My husband and I would recommend this place to everyone. We wanted someplace quiet and private and we got it! We loved it. It was like living the "Swiss Family Robinson" life, with all the modern convienences. The hosts are very nice and helpful, they answered all of our questions, showed us where everything was and are very nice people to rent from. "Aloft" was very clean, in a very nice and quiet neighborhood and it suited us perfectly. We will go back to this same place the next time we are on Jekyll Island. This was our 3rd time to visit Jekyll and by far the best place for us! You will not be disappointed if you rent "Aloft".

This place was just perfect - charming, roomy, lovely location, friendly owners...the photos don't capture how big and light it is. It was perfect for us and our 6-year-old! They had bikes for us to use (even the 6-year-old) and we loved riding the bike trails on the island. The only people this would not be good for would be someone with disabilities, because there is a staircase to access the apartment. Stay here if you have the chance!!

Aloft exceeded my expectations...it is VERY spacious&open, clean, full of light, comfortable, and is rented out by two of the kindest and most gracious "hosts" anyone could ever hope to have. I truly appreciated the calm&quiet there....and waking up looking out into the trees! It's walking distance to a bicycle trail, where you can walk or ride (thank you for the use of the bike!) under gorgeous old oaks and have a beautiful expansive view of the river&marsh&bridge along the way. The loft "apartment" is on a quiet street (great neighborhood for walking, too) that's also lined with ancient oaks, and it's easy driving distance (minutes) to the ocean, restaurants, a golf course, and the GA Sea Turtle Center & Historic District. I felt welcomed, at "home" in Aloft, and so renewed by all the natural beauty everywhere around the island. Thank you, Pam and Mike, for my wonderful stay in your special place!

Nestled amid the treetops, a spot of unique ambience beckons the city dweller to come away. “Aloft” was all we were expecting and more, including Wi-Fi. Thank you, Pamela and Michael, for sharing yourselves to make us feel so at home. We very much recommend “Aloft” as a delightful Jekyll Island hideaway for a couple.

Our stay at "Aloft" was very relaxing and enjoyable. We had plenty of space for the two of us, but it would have easily accomodated more. We appreciated the kind welcome basket and place to park our bikes and great dining tips. We would definitely stay there again.
Owner response:You two are great! thanks so much for the two reviews! We'll welcome you back anytime. God bless! Pamela & Michael

"aloft" has everything you could think of to be comfortable. if something special is desired pam and mike do what they can to accommodate. my stay for the winter months was enjoyable and relaxing. personally i am into bridge (duplicate and social), hiking, kayaking, and swimming. there is plenty of space and the apartment is not boring, has a great setting with treetop views, private, and generally gives one the feeling of being in a treehouse. jekyll island is beautiful, historic, and offers a lot to do. it's conveniently located not far from brunswick and st. simons island. an ideal winter getaway. i shall return next winter. ted hutchinson

We enjoyed our stay very much although it was short it was well worth it. We were welcomed with a "welcome basket" that was just too cute. Little things always go a long way. The area was quiet and secluded. Loved the decor and how open the loft was. We will for sure be back. Cant beat the no cleaning fee which is what sold us! Thanks again and when we return to the island we will for sure be staying with you again. Michael & Amanda

My husband and I stayed here for 7 nights and enjoyed it completely. The loft was spacious, private and relaxing. It had lots of nooks and crannies to do a variety of activities: TV area; an area for reading, an outdoor deck; a computer desk; a couple of tables for eating; great window bench, etc. We stayed during a very hot, humid time and the air conditioning was very much appreciated. We enjoyed the free wifi, the use of their bikes, the large and plentiful towels and the great shower, to name a few. Our hosts were wonderful and thoughtful, checking with us several times to make sure our stay was comfortable. The owners live on the premises--so if you have questions or needs, you can approach them.

It was for me. The description makes this property sound like it is a quiet, secluded place in the woods or with a view of the marshes. None of that is the case. It is a studio over a garage on a suburban street. Forget sleeping in; the opening and closing of the garage door will awaken you. Though mostly clean, there were bugs in various states (alive, semi-alive, and dead). Large windows on one side have no dressing, so don't even think about coming out of the bathroom semi-dressed or the neighbors will get an eyeful. Needed ice for a hike was not available because the freezer does not freeze. Lesson learned: ask more questions.
Owner response:As owners of "Aloft," we work hard to accommodate our guests. Before her arrival, Ms. Christine requested and was given a coffee bean grinder, as well as bicycles and a cooler for picnics we provide for our guests. The second day of her stay, she commented on weak water pressure so we purchased a new shower head. Had she mentioned the ice maker, we would have gladly shown her how to adjust the refrigerator setting. Living in coastal GA in the summertime, we are visited by 6 legged creatures, even in clean, fumigated homes. As "Aloft" sits high above the rooftops, the only neighbors that could get an eyeful would be the birds. Yes, please ask questions!

Aloft exceeded my expectations in terms of spaciousness, cleanliness, comfort, and homey environment. Aloft is beautifully decorated, conveniently located, and well stocked with all the necessities for a relaxing vacation. The owners are very thoughtful, mello, and helpful with any and all needs. I highly recommend Aloft for anyone who is looking for a quiet retreat on Jekyll Island. I know I will definitely return to Aloft for my next getaway! Thanks so much Michael and Pamela for all of your hospitality!!!

Today was one of the most beautiful days we can remember. We saw the most beautiful birds (painted buntings) that we have wanted to see for a very long time. The beauty of Jekyll Island is like none other! Your home and "Aloft" is awesome!! I assure you, we will be back! Thank you for providing such a wonderful space to decompress.

The loft has been perfect for our family! We've been close enough to reconnect, but not on top of each other. It has everything we've needed down to the salt and pepper. What a relief not to have to pack every last thing! We are grateful to the Muellers for accommodating us with answers to our questions and for loaning us bikes! We've all fallen in love with Jekyll Island. P.S. the WiFi was a lifesaver! Many thanks!

Aloft was exactly what we needed: a spacious studio apartment with access to all the comforts of home. The sleeping and lounging areas were comfy, and everything was clean and well taken care of. The location is in a quiet residential neighborhood and within minutes of the historic district. The owners were pleasant, friendly, and helpful upon arrival. Overall, a great experience!

Mike and Pam, Your loft is really neat---the quiet and rustic decor is a nice touch---we especially enjoyed the old woodwork. By the way, we read all of Kiska's books! Boy, she is quite an author! Thanks for all the extras, like wine and fruit! P.S. the orchid is for you two! Many thanks!

"Aloft" is a super space! Perfect desk area to work everyday for a couple of hours. We loved curling up reading "Splendid Isolation" and then touring the island, finding all of the different spots. Thanks also for the wonderful welcome basket!

Thank you for sharing so much of yourself in this beautiful loft, for providing a nest in which we were able to rest, relax and rejuvenate. It is very special to return to “home” with so much beauty within. Every detail is great and certainly appreciated by us. We definitely have sand between our toes and in our shoes. The island is in our hearts. Kathleen & Joseph
