Casa Colcan has been a project of ours since we bought it in 2006. We've worked hard to make it the kind of home we're happy to share with family, friends and renters (new friends) alike. Given that we both work in the boutique hotel industry, we sat down and made of list of things we thought would be the most important to provide in a short-term rental home. We then had family and friends stay over to make sure we had made the right decisions. So far, so good.
Our home has two stories and all three bedrooms are located on the second floor. There is a spacious master bedroom with Queen bed, walk-in closet and its own full bath. The other two bedrooms have two single beds each (which have on occasion been pushed together to create a King bed) and they share the second full bath.
The private outdoor patio features seating for four and a must-have hammock. It's a small space yet we hosted a birthday BBQ there for 20 people and it was great. There's also a club house (literally about 50 steps from the front door) with a large grill, pool, sun beds and outdoor living area.
The home is fully air-conditioned with mini-splits that allow you to control temperatures in different spaces.
As mentioned previously, we live very close by and manage our own home. We're hands on and monitor our home, its surroundings and its overall condition.
We look forward to welcoming adventurous or perhaps returning travelers that want a reliable place to live while they explore the many wonders of the Bay of Banderas.

Year Purchased: 2006
Miguel Andres and I moved to Mexico from Canada and Colombia respectively over 12 years ago. We met and fell in love in Puerto Vallarta. Being that Puerto Vallarta is geographically in the middle between Miguel's hometown of Bogota and my family in Montreal, we established our own home here and are now expecting our first child. We both work in the hospitality industry for boutique hotels and are service specialists. This allows us first-hand knowledge and understanding on how to 'host' and guide guests, making sure you make the most of your Puerto Vallarta experience.
Why the Owner Chose Rincon Del Cielo
We purchased this home because it was close to our own home and allows us to personally take care of it and be available for renters. The neighborhood is a relatively new one and is strategically located between the popular areas of the Vallarta area: downtown, Nuevo, Bucerias, Punta Mita, Sayulita. It's just a perfect spot from which to go anywhere, without being overly touristy so visitors can still get a feel for living like a local family. We feel the location is ideal in that your are not at one end of the bay but truly in the middle. This allows complete flexibility and ease to explore the many small towns and local attractions. We like having access to everything yet retiring to a quieter space in the evenings.
The Unique Benefits of this Townhouse
Our home is located in a small gated community, with a shared swimming pool and a private back patio. It is quiet, safe and walking distance from a typical Mexican neighborhood with informal restaurants, small shops and services. It also has two secure parking spaces in front of the main entrance of the home. The overall set-up makes it a great spot to just quietly spend the day pool-side or a fantastic starting point from which to decide where to explore.
