Spent a wonderful week at the Casita for Two - May 1-8th. The Casita was just perfect for the two of us. It was even better than photos, and was such a nice "home away from home" after several days of hiking. Such a beautiful view from patio, and so quiet and peaceful. Everything was clean, well maintained and all ammenities were great. We really enjoyed the hikes in area - Wire Pass, Willis Creek, Kodachrome State Park were especially nice. We definately would recommend the Casita for Two and hope to come back someday. The Rocking V Cafe was terrific and wish we had found it earlier in the week. Food and service were amazing. Thank you to Deborah and Nick for sharing your wonderful Casita with us. Really enjoyed the chocolate chip cookies that were in our room upon arrival. Nice touch.

My wife and I have been coming to Kanab since 2005 to volunteer at Best Friends. This was our first time not staying on Best Friends' property. Let me start by saying the photos on this site do not do the Casita for Two justice. The studio is warm, inviting, and has amazing views. It is perfect for two and a furry friend. During the day, the view from the drive way looking out over the valley is awesome. At night, you can sit outside and stare up at the Milky Way for hours. It is in a very quite, out of the way area on the west side of Kanab. That's interesting since Kanab as a whole can be described the same way. The comfort of the Casita is amazing. You are on vacation. You go to Best Friends, you go to Zion (which is not as far as I thought it was), you go out to dinner... And you come back to a place that reminds you that you are vacation, but feels as comfortable as a home. You won't want to leave... I know we didn't...

Our stay at the casita was great. It felt like home. It was so much nicer than staying in a motel. After a long day of volunteering at Best Friends, it was sure nice to drive away from town to a quiet oasis. We were very comfortable there. Deborah & Nick thought of everything that would make their "guests" feel at home. Sitting out on the patio in the evening was fabulous, the sound of the waterfall, the smell of the butterfly bushes and lavender, the stars. In the mornings, the views of the mountains were beautiful. It takes about 10 minutes longer to get to Best Friends, but it's worth the extra time. It's very convenient to town. The grocery & restaurants are only a few minutes away. If you're looking for a quiet, comfortable place to stay, this is it. P.S. Our sleepover dogs liked it a lot too. There's even a dog bed and blankets there for your furry friends.

The Casita is Great

We stayed at the Casita for 3 nights while visiting the sights in the Kanab area. It was very cozy and quaint. The views out the door were beautiful. We enjoyed sitting out in the mornings and evenings, enjoying the beauty and solitude. The area was very quiet, yet only minutes from town, and was a very comfortable place to return to after a day of sightseeing. I would recommend this place to anyone. We very much enjoyed the Rocking V restaurant in Kanab.

The casita for two was perfect for my stay during a class that I took at The Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. The property was clean, well maintained, and perfect for my needs. The photos clearly reflect the charm of the casita; actually the high ceilings make the casita feel more roomy than the photos show. I was very please with my stay and will book here again in the future.

My daughter and I came down to volunteer at Best Friends and stayed here. What a fantastic place! Beautiful inside and out. Deborah and Nick were truly nice people. I would definitely stay here again! Much better than a hotel. Having to go to the garage to use the sink was no big deal. Would highly recommend staying here....thanks for everything!

Jennifer & I had a wonderful stay at the Casita For Two back in June. Ideal location for day trips to Antelope Canyon, North Rim and Zion. We loved the efficiency apartment. Very quaint, very clean and nice touch with the cookies waiting for us! :) We would like to stay there again next June when we return to the area if at all possible.

My sister and I stayed for a week in the Casita for Two. It was exactly what we were looking for. Beautiful views and trails right out the door. We volunteered at Best Friends and visited Zion National Park and Coral Pink Sand Dunes. The casita is very spacious, comfortable bed, clean and nicely decorated. It is next to the owners house but still extremely private. Nick and Deborah (the owners) are very nice and there if you have any questions, but never intrusive. We only saw them twice. It's in a quiet neighbor hood, but only 5 minutes from downtown and 10 minutes to Best Friends. We loved it and would definately stay again. It would have been nice to have a sink in the kitchen, but the utility sink in the garage area is very close. We cooked very little due to volunteering and site seeing. But town is very close and meals very reasonably priced. We had Best Friends kitty sleepover for 2 nights which was great. If you're looking for a quiet spacious and beautiful place, this is the place for you. You also get free wifi which worked all the time. There were also fresh baked cookies waiting for us when we arrived. YUM! Thanks for everything Nick & Deborah. Your place is a little piece of heaven!

The Casita for Two is one of two places I stayed during my internship at Best Friends, and I would recommend it to EVERYONE! I walked in to fresh baked cookies, a clean, spacious room, and a gorgeous view! It was accessible to Best Friends, Zion, Bryce, the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, etc. It's secluded but close to downtown, and there are wonderful hiking trails out your backyard! Great places for sleepover animals from Best Friends, because the dogs love the walks/hikes out the backyard. I would definitely stay here again!

We stayed at the Casita while visting and volunteering at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. It was also convenient to our trips to Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park. The views and hiking out the back door were amazing, and we were graced with a young mule deer coming by to say hello one evening right out the window facing the mesa. We could not have been happier with the Casita - for -two it was so peaceful and quiet, and definitely recommend it highly to everyone. We have wonderful memories of our "home away from home" and look forward to coming back at our earliest opportunity! Wonderful hosts and a great private place to stay!

My first visit to Kanab Oct 17-23

This was a GREAT place to stay after LONG days spent with the dogs in Dogtown at BFAS, It felt like a home away from home. Large open and airy room, great views, 5 minutes to downtown and a comfortable bed. I volunteered at Best Friends every day for a week and after those longs days it was great to soak in the deep tub and sit on the patio and watch the scenery change at sunset. It was only a 15 minute drive to the Sanctuary and I had a doggie sleepover too, Pam was so wonderful with arrangements and confirmations and in answering emails immediately. I would definitely stay there again. Highly recommend over staying in a hotel.

Hard to imagine anything better

I stayed here with my dog for a week while doing some volunteering at Best Friends, and could not have been happier with the choice. It is much, much bigger than a hotel room, very clean & comfortable. The setting is absolutely beautiful - we hiked up into the hills behind the house at least twice a day while here and the views were fantastic. After driving from central Wisconsin, we weren't really up for more travel out to the area parks, so having this opportunity to check out the scenery and get some exercise really fit the bill. If you're looking for some seclusion and a great place to relax (without the noise and higher cost that comes with a hotel) you won't do any better than here.

the casita is a wondeful place to stay. roomy, clean, and quiet, it's well worth the money. i never used the tv -- the casita has wifi so i just watched tv on my laptop. the bathroom is nicely updated and the decor is rustic and fitting for the area. i volunteered at best friends and while the casita was south of kanab and just a little farther than staying a Kanab hotel, it was a great choice. the backyard is lovely and private.

This is a wonderful alternative to the motels in the area, if you are looking for complete peace and quiet (plus gorgeous views). The place was very clean and well-appointed - nice, comfortable bed, a couple of comfy chairs, and the kitchenette is stocked with all the basic utensils and dishes. The kitchen facilities are great for the minimal food prep, I wouldn't plan on cooking an elaborate meal, but if you're looking to save money/add convenience by being able to have simple meals here, it fits the bill. Having the little patio outside is a very nice bonus. I stayed here while volunteering at Best Friends and had a couple of doggie sleepovers and they were also very happy with the accomodations! Aside from Best Friends, if you are looking for somewhere as a base for exploring the region (Bryce, Zion, North Rim), this would work for that too.

A week in paradise!

The photos don't do it justice! Incredible views right out the window. Both the owners and the rental agent were very nice and extremely helpful. The unit was clean and well supplied for two people. We really loved the way it was decorated. Having been to the national parks in the area before, we chose to see other places. We went to the Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park, drove through Johnson Canyon to see the Grand Staircase Escalante, and spent a day in Duck Springs. We would definitely recommend the Casita to others and plan on coming back again.

Owner response:Well, we are happy to say that we've been paying attention to the comments, and have made a few upgrades. A new, larger screened tv was just installed last week. And while it is true that there is no sink in the kitchen, you do have access to a large utility sink just steps away (in the garage) for washing dishes. We plan to update the photos on the website this month, since most of the comments have stated that the "pictures don't do the Casita justice". Thanks for staying and leaving your comments, we really appreciate it!

Great place to stay

We stayed here during memorial day weekend this year. It is just as advertised, is perfect for two people. Very quit and clean place, close enough to the town area and the shopping market (just a couple of miles). The bed is big enough for two and the kitchen utensils as well as appliances are very helpful - not for lavish cooking but good enough for breakfast and small meals. The place actually comes out a lot cheaper than a hotel, particularly when you consider the advantage of having the small kitchen. We never saw anyone around in the property were aware that there are some people staying. No one every bothered us and privacy was never an issue. The communication with the owner was excellent, quick responses - at times almost immediately. The owner also stocked basic essentials such as oil, salt, cleaning supplies etc. Pros: Quiet, clean, good views of mountains from the window, kitchen, TV, DirecTV connection, separate parking. Cons: TV is really small (but we were not staying because of the TV), no sink in the kitchen (but you can use the sink area next to the restroom), only good for a couple - not for large groups (I wish they also had a bigger place). You certainly get more than what you are paying for. We definitely recommend it for anyone who plans to visit Southern UT or Northern AZ. We had a wonderful stay and we plan on staying there again on our next trip.

Exactly as picured. Amazing views out both windows. I was looking for a pet friendly place and this was perfect. It was very clean and inviting with a seperate parking area which made it very convenient. I stayed for 4 nights with my 2 dogs. The mountain trail is literally 10 steps out your door. I stayed last minute and the response time to my inquiry was inmmediate. Everything about it was easy. The only downside is the lack of kitchen sink, and the size and placement of the TV (very tiny and on the kitchen area counter). But I wasn't really there to watch tv and do a lot of cooking so it was only a minor inconvenience. If you like to watch a lot tv while you are on vacation this is probably not the place. I would definitely stay here again.

My boyfriend and I traveled to Kanab and volunteered at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary for a few days, hiked at Zion a few days and spent plenty of down time at the casita. Even hiked right out the back door! It was wonderful and decorated so cute. Really quiet and secluded. We were so glad that we chose to stay here and not a place where we were surrounded by so many people. We even brought a dog for a sleepover, so nice that it was pet friendly! The restaurants downtown were really good and we would definitely consider staying here again. Especially for the price. We felt it was really reasonable. Thank you so much for the care and detail put into this place...and the cookies that were waiting for us upon arrival :0) nice touch.

Great Weekend In Kanab

Spent two days here. We were 2 adults and a toddler and the Casita was perfect. Located about 10 minutes from Best Friends Animmal Sanctuary which is one of the reasons we visited. About 5 minutes to downtown Kanab. Nice little trails right out your door. Water feature outside was nice. My daughter loved playing in the yard. No real kitchen sink if you plan on cooking but as long as you aren't making a 4 course meal you can get by. We would stay again. Relaxing, quiet and beautiful views.

This was so much nicer than a motel and actually cost less than some. The pictures really don't do the place justice.The location is quiet, private and convenient. We were traveling with our dog and the owner thoughtfully stocked the cupboard with a box of dog bisquits. Nice touch! We would definitely stay again.

I loved this casita. I have stayed in kanab before but this was wonderful. Private, quiet , beautiful scenery ,reasonable price and the bed was the more comforable than mine at home. The photos do not do it justice.I hope to come again

My husband, dog & I enjoyed staying at the casita. It was nice to have a home-base & drive to the sites within 1-2 hours of Kanab. I also appreciate having a nice play to stay when traveling with my dog. We tried to do a little cooking because we stayed for a full week, but it was a little more tedious than I expected without a stove or a sink. (laundry sink used for dishes is next door in the owner's garage). If I were going back to Kanab, I would consider staying again.
