Our Vail home is a two-story, 4,500 square foot, mountain-side condominium. Two spacious decks increase your livable space and the views are fabulous. The decor is contemporary yet very comfortable for your family or large group. We have staff available to answer to your every need. The proximity to the Vail Cascade Resort and Spa gives you the ultimate choice in dining and recreational activities.

The Aria Spa caters to both men and women and has a wonderful sanctuary that you can enjoy before your service. The exercise facility with it's outdoor heated year-round pool is a wonderful way to end your day. There are exercise classes as well as a full gym to keep you occupied if the outdoor activities are not your thing. The newly remodeled Vail Cascade Resort, a four-star acommodation, is truly breathtaking and can provide a wonderful dinning experience to you and your guests or additional rooms if necessary.

Vail Village is so close, yet you can walk back to your condominium and enjoy the peace and quiet of its' unique location. We have watched foxes, deer, as well as other wildlife from our deck as we have enjoyed the morning sun, and we have relaxed at night in the outdoor hot tub and viewed the moon rising over Vail mountain.

It really is quite the venue. If outdoor activity is your passion, walk out the condominium's main door and you are on a fabulous walking and biking trail - the Gore Creek Trail. Did I mention I can hear the water rushing in the creek from our unit? Your vacation experience really does not get any better than this!

I recently rented this unit for a group of 16 people for some spring skiing. The condo worked out perfectly for us. This place is HUGE. It sleeps up to 22 people with 8 separate bedrooms. With 16 people we never felt crowded at any point. The main living space/kitchen is an open floor plan where every gathered each morning and evening. The outdoor deck and hot tub had nice views and was a perfect way to end out a day of skiing. The place was so nice that we barely ended up going out into Lionshead or Vail Village in the evening. The underground heated parking was great, but we never needed a car since the location is so close to everything. I highly recommend renting skiis from Charter Sports which is only a 2 minute walk from the condo. They keep your skis/boots stored overnight and there is a chairlift literally outside the door that takes you up the mountain. Once off that chairlift you can continue to make your way up the mountain without ever having to go down to the busy Lionshead area (i.e., little/no lift lines). If you have a large group for a Vail trip, you MUST stay at this place....you won't regret it.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Owner response: Thank you so much for your glowing comments. The location of our home in the Cascade area of Vail gives you easy access to dinning options, equipment rentals, and you are virtually slope-side with a short walk to Chair 20 at the Vail Cascade Resort. The sleeping configuration is great for large ski groups, family reunions and even weddings. We would love to have you as our guest--at The Vail House. Give us a try and you won't be disappointed!

We have just returned from a wonderful week in Vail. We were a group of 20 ranging in age from 18 months to 73 and this condo fit all of our needs. The condo is beautiful with plenty of room and privacy for all. The whole rental process, selection, payment, entrance in the property, was so easy! Everything was very comfortable and clean, my mom liked her bed so much she looked for the mattress model to go home and change hers! The condo is very well located and the heated garage is very nice in the winter. We did not need our car very often as the shuttles were much more practical and easy to use. We had some concerns in the beginning that a condo might not be good with a big group because of the noise, but we never heard anything from any other condo in the building. The owners were extremely helpful in answering all of our questions and helping us to make the most of our vacation. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to any big family or group. There is something for everyone in the area and the day pass available at the Spa and fitness center next door was a great asset as well.

Owner response: Thank you for your kind words! We cater to large groups such as this one for holidays, weddings, family reunions, ski trips, corporate groups--you name it. The spaciousness of the condominium permits large groups to interact in one home and the proximity to Vail enables you to experience the village without being right in the heart of downtown. Why don't you ask for our on-line brochure so you can see what a fabulous venue we can offer to you! Hurry, the snow is great and the ski season is already underway!

Our group wanted to take a trip to the mountains for our winter getaway from southern California. We could not have picked a more perfect home with a more gracious owner. Our trip was stress free and was everything we hoped for and more. Our entire group was able to fit comfortably and the location of the home enabled us to split up and some hit the slopes while others could go to town and we could all meet back up. The home itself had everything we needed in more. The owner made setting up the trip a breeze she was able to make recommendations for travel accommodations and dinner reservations as well as festival information as to what was going on the weekend we were going to be there. We had an amazing trip and would stay there again without a second thought.

Owner response: The most enjoyable part of renting our Mountain home is getting to work with groups like this one. We endeavor to go beyond your expectations and help with whatever it is you need assistance with whether it be a special dinner for a large group, how to handle guests coming to Vail from every direction, or what to do once you get here. It is our goal to go beyond what you perceive is great customer service, and hopefully you experience great personal service on your Vail vacation!

My first impression was “Wow!” and, after a week’s stay, my lasting impression was still “Wow!”. Months later, I can still see the great room’s elegance, spaciousness, warmth. I can still hear the laughter and see the breathtaking view. Everyone in our party was comfortable and ‘at their best’ because they were surrounded by the best of everything. I can still hear the calming sounds of the Gore Creek immediately below us and still relive time spent on the spacious decks, basking in the sun. Everyone boasted of having the best bed, the best sense of privacy and the best bathroom. I would go back in a heartbeat. And I will go back. Anything or any place that is so deliberately and masterfully designed needs to be revisited and re-experienced. My forever words are “Thank you!”.

I am incredibly fortunate that I found this Vail Cascade condo for two reasons: first, the condo far exceeded my (high) expectations. The pictures don't (and cannot) do this condo justice. Every detail, from the commercial quality kitchens with high-end fixtures, to the equisite bathrooms, to the very comforting outdoor jacuzzi, was more than I expected. For my group of nearly 20 adults, we had more than enough space so that we weren't on top of each other! Secondly, the condo owner was such an invaluable resource to me (especially given I had not planned a large trip to Vail previously), and took such care in making sure our stay was flawless (not to mention the poinsettia's and Christmas decorations...a very nice touch!), it was a huge stress-reliever given I was hosting such a group. A few other thoughts. The owner indicated it was only a 3.5 minute walk to the lift...I have to say, it felt like 30 seconds. This is as good as slope-side, and with the accessabilty of the Cascade lift and ski conceirge, the mountain could not have been more accessible. Next, for those not familiar with the Vail area, I found Cascade to be a fantasitc place to retreat to. While extremely accessible, it was tranquil at night and extraordinarily relaxing. Certainly, the condo contributed to those feelings. Lastly, the layout is great for large but intimate gatherings. We had a catered dinner one night--and this condo was the perfect setting for a large-but-intimate gathering. It made for an enjoyable night I certainly won't soon forget. I am enthusiastically looking forward to returning to this rental, and I simply have no reservations whatsoever in recommending this condo to the most discerning of visitors--a sentiment I'm sure each of my guests would echo.

I was in charge of finding accommodations for a group of ten ladies from all over the country who wanted to get together for a high school reunion. I found the perfect place for us in this unit at the Vail Cascade Resort. It is beautiful!!!! It has plenty of beds and baths so we could all have some privacy and yet gather in the spacious living room area for meals and gab sessions. It was even nicer than the pictures I had seen online. The deck is spacious and has a spectacular view. Some of the ladies took advantage of the hot tub on the deck....a great place to share a glass of wine. I have just secured it for a second year as everyone wants to come back. The setting is beautiful, the amenities are wonderful and it is close to everything. There is a shuttle bus that takes you into Vail so no need for a car to go to town. I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone planning a family reunion or any large gathering. I was there during the summer but I am sure it is just as wonderful for skiers in the winter. I cannot think of one negative thing about this place....it's perfect!

Owner response: Thanks so much for the great review! And you are so right--what a great venue for a class reunion or family get together. We have 22 separate beds so you have the ability to have a large group in one location. That's an amenity that is hard to come by in Vail. Also, the proximity to Vail Village is wonderful but you have tremendous privacy with our unit's location as well. Thanks for coming a second year!

Accomdations were amazing. It reminded us of many of the luxury places we stay in Europe at, only with more room and a kitchen to die for! We had a group of 16 and never felt like it was crowded. Views are incredible from the windows and balcony. We went walking on the trails along the river and it was great to store our skis right at the bottom of the Cascade lift. We also used used the free spa at the Cascade Resort right next door. Truely we can't say enough about the place.

Our family had the pleasure of staying at this unit last March during our Spring break. We have stayed at several other properties in Vail, Beaver Creek, Steamboat and Whistler and this is by far the best we have experienced. Travelling with kids is no easy task with all the equip. the use of the ski drop was awesome. With the lift as close to the unit as it was it was even easy to ski down for lunch and head back up with no waiting in a line. The rooms were clean, the unit was comfortable and the attention to detail was evident. We will be back I'm sure. Thanks for allowing our family to have a wonderful time in your home.

We have stayed here 4 times. Winter, spring and even for 2 weeks in the summer. From the moment we walked in the door it was the most impressive real estate experience of our lives! The mountain view is just awesome, especially the sunsets and stars on a clear night. Equally impressive is the interior. It is so spacious and you can tell the quality in every detail (VERY expensive furnishings). The deck is very large, also capturing the lovely mountain views and Gore Creek. Also on the deck, the hot tub is sparkling clean every time. The hot tub servicing people do a great job. Grilling out is fun! Indoor parking is easy & convenient and you are close to everything. We usually just park the cars and use the free Vail Cascade shuttles. Drivers are always friendly as is everyone at the resort. Do make sure to enjoy the resort while you are there. It's just steps away and the have a beautiful heated pool, ski lift, ski shop (Good rental skis), rental bikes in the summer and a very nice restaurant right there. To sum it up, everything about this beautiful condo is truly, "Knock your socks off" amazing. They didn't spare a nickel on the construction and furnishings. Wait until you see the doors, floors, and woodworking ! I guarantee you will remember this vacation !!! ENJOY-- We will be back later this year or for sure in 2012. Sorry about going on and on as my wife just said...but I really wanted to share our experiences so you can hopefully have the same. Blessings from Saint Louis

Owner response: Thanks so much for the review. Summer is a fabulous time to enjoy Vail. This guest took advantage of the low rates of "off-season" and came in June this year (this guest also came out with a group skiing in March) which is glorious in Vail. There really is so much you can do with hiking, biking, horseback riding, fishing, and all the local events like the Teva Mountain Games which were going on when this guest came. Come watch competitive rock climbing, kayaking, mountain biking and more!

There is nothing that you would want out of a Colorado vacation that I did not get staying at The Vail House. Our large group did not feel cramped at all, even though we had 20 people in one condo! We took full advantage of the beautiful kitchen making many dinners that we enjoyed at the large dining room table. I have been for ski season and in the summer.... it is a shame more people don't take advantage of Vail in the summer! Owner info

                  Year Purchased: 2007

About the owner: Raised in the Midwest, both my husband, Gary, and myself love to ski and participate in many outdoor activities and this is the ideal location for those that love the outdoors. We hope to spend our retirement here with our five children and their children visiting often--hence, why the large number of beds! There is so much to do here that you just cannot get bored. We both enjoy hiking, biking, fishing, skiing, and whatever else the outdoors can provide.

                  Why the Owner Chose Westhaven:
You could not ask for a more convenient location. To get to the ski lift, you simply cross the street and pick up your skis and boots at the ski concierge and away you go--it's that easy to get to the lift. The Vail Cascade Resort is across the street as well with its newly remodeled four-star facility including two fabulous restaurants and a beautiful bar and additional rooms if they are necessary for your party. The Vail Cascade Spa and exercise facility are literally next door so that after you recreate, you can enjoy a message or jump into a pick-up-game of basketball--whatever you are in the mood for. It is within walking distance to Lion's Head or Vail Village, we do that everyday we are at the condominium to start our day. Yet, it is not as hectic or noisy as the Village so that you can even nap on the outdoor decks. With the resort's shuttle system and the Vail bus system, a car is not necessary to get to the shopping areas or your favorite restaurant. I will walk to the grocery store and take a cab home so that you need not hassle with renting a car if you come to our condominium.

The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
It's hard to begin there is so much available. Our unit overlooks the Gore Creek Trail, a fabulous biking/running/walking trail that runs along Gore Creek. If you like to fish, you can do so by just walking out the condo door-Gore Creek is full of trout. Tennis courts are next door as well, located in Donovan Park with a great playground facility for children. Then there is the Vail Cascade Spa, the exercise facility, the Vail Cascade Resort across the way with it's great restaurants. Or, just stay home and sit on one of the two outdoor decks and enjoy the view of Vail Valley. You can do that in our outdoor hot tub and watch the moon rise over Vail mountain. Don't forget the skiing in the winter and the hiking and mountain and road biking in the summer.
