The Unique Benefits at this House
We are located with in a 12 mile radius of some of the best wineries Oregon has to offer with tasting rooms and vineyards all around us. The views of the valleys are wonderful, and the night sky to enjoy. Summer brings Hot Air Balloons into view as you sit on the deck or relax in the hot tub. Deer, squirrels, birds, owls, hawks, fox, come through the property.
The menu is based on the foods that our farmer/neighbors grow: seasonal, and regional. Many of the wines that we feature come from just down the road. We are committed to using the best ingredients, and our menu changes as we move through the seasons of the year. We also believe in using the highest quality and most healthful ingredients available and to that end use organic, free range and chemical free products.

My wife and I bought this property and built our beautiful home in 1998, we enjoyed living at this property for 10 years. We have put a tremendous amount of thought, time and effort in creating a property that we called our home. We recently made a change of where we live and thought we could now share this property with others for their enjoyment. With the close proximity to some of the best wineries in Oregon we thought it a great place to stay for people coming to the area. Please remember this is our home and you are guests, we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Three couples for a 5-day stay. Toured wineries two days, spent a morning in McMinnville, went to Pacific City and the coast for a day and a day in Portland. Also, great dining close by. This was the perfect house -- large, conveniently located, quiet, all the amenities you would ever need and great owners to work with. Perfect for 3 couples to enjoy a trip to the wine country and Portland area.
Owner response:Thanks Terry and guests, I am glad we got to meet you and it sounds like you took full advantage of our beautiful area. come back anytime ! Debbie and John

My family and I were lucky enough to find such a wonderful place to stay. We stayed at Hoot Owl Hill for a total of 10 days. We came to Oregon for our daughters wedding and needed a spacious home to accommodate our family members, we got more then we expected. The property is beautiful, the home is clean, welcoming and gave us a feeling of warmth. We enjoyed the hot tub every chance we had. We were also surprised at how quiet it was there. We got to see deer roaming through the property and got to see different types of colorful birds. I got to enjoy cooking most of our meals in the spacious kitchen which by the way had everything that was needed to prepare a meal. We even got to harvest some of the vegetables from the garden for our meals. Would I stay there again? Definitely YES. My family and I would like to Thank you Debbie and John for allowing us to stay in such a wonderful home. We look forward to coming back and staying in your home in the near future. . You have such a beautiful house and the landscaping is amazing. We "harvested" some tomatoes, beets, onions, and strawberries from the garden. We had all our dinners at the house because we figured we couldn't get a better view than the deck. The last night we had a campfire at the fire pit and it was perfect. Every day we were discovering something new about the house or the yard. Our friends could not believe that I found such a wonderful rental and neither could I. Not too many of our friends think of vacationing in Oregon wine country but I plan on promoting it and especially Hoot Owl Hill. Once again thank you for the use of Hoot Owl Hill - I wish I was heading back tomorrow! Ken and Jean

Our family stayed at Hoot Owl Hill for our son's wedding which took place at one of the vineyards. Debbie and John could not have been better hosts; Debbie helping with many needs in setting up our rehearsal dinner Crab Boil, which we held in the gym area on the property. Anything we needed, John & Deb were more than happy to provide, including purchasing extra chairs. The house itself is beautiful, the view is stunning, especially with the hot air balloons every morning, the peak of Mt. Jefferson, and all the humming birds. We were welcome to everything in the garden and used the fire pit and hot tub many times. The master bedroom was more than large enough for the Bride and Bridesmaids to prepare for the party. We fit 10 people quite well using the aerobeds which were also provided. We would highly recommend the property to anyone who would like to have a small party or wedding; as well as a lovely home, centrally located, if just visiting the vineyards.

We rented this house for a week in early October. There were three couples in our group and the house was perfect. The home is spacious, with comfortable living and sleeping accomodations, and a very nice kitchen and grille on the deck. The location is ideal for trips to vineyards and surrounding attractions. From here we did day trips to the Oregon Coast, Portland, and Hood River. The owners were kind enough to let us enjoy the vegetables from the garden on the premises - a generous and unexpected touch by them. If/when we go back to the Willamette Valley I hope we're able to find a place as comfortable and enjoyable as this.
