Our family of ten adults held a reunion at this location for three nights. The home is wonderfully decorated, well-stocked and comfortable. We had no problems accomodating five couples with a private sleeping area for each. The amenities of the home were spot on fantastic.... a great hot tub, fire pit, water feature, deck, TV, computer, and wi-fi. The home is geographically perfect for touring wine country which was our primary focus. Our only disappointment was with the outside traffic associated with the separate gym/recreation building. We felt "infringed" upon several times with its proximity to the home and the number of people coming and going. The closeness of the gym/recreation building to the home is not reflective of the "private setting" description on VRBO. We would rent this home again if the opportunity arises but only with limitations regarding the separate gym/recreation building.
Owner response:Darlene, I am glad you enjoyed your time hear and I really sorry about the traffic to the gym area, we normally don't have anything going on down there while we have guests and I am truly sorry, they were told that we have guests at the house and there shouldn't have been cars going back and forth during your stay. I will make sure that we don't have that happen again, please feel free to give us a call and when and if you come back to the area we will be glad to discount your rates for you or a friend you refer to us. Eight of us stayed at this wonderful home over the weekend. The home was clean, extremely well stocked, everything we needed was provided. This house is centrally located with easy access to many of the local wineries. We spent most of our Saturday visiting local wineries like Argyle, Solena, Bergstrom, Lange & Lamelson. Of course there are many more but we didn't have time to visit. A special THANK YOU to Debbie, everyone had a fantastic time.
Owner response:Wow thanks so much for the great review Uschi, we are so glad you enjoyed our home and that you were able to use the comp cards at the wineries. Have a great summer and think of us again when you come back to the area. Debbie and John Grimm

Beautiful home, beautiful setting! A wonderful get away in wine country. The hot tube and fire pit were a great hit.

My husband and friends arranged this rental as a 30th birthday surprise for me, and it kept surprising me over and over. We all went away together, and were so impressed with this property, it was well kept, clean, had everything we needed. The views were stunning, especially from the hot tub which along side the fire pit were big hits. There was plenty of space for everyone with linens and blankets to go around. The location is perfect, so close to many of our favorite wineries and restaurants making the wine tasting weekend complete. We loved the house and highly recommend staying there!

Three couples for a 5-day stay. Toured wineries two days, spent a morning in McMinnville, went to Pacific City and the coast for a day and a day in Portland. Also, great dining close by. This was the perfect house -- large, conveniently located, quiet, all the amenities you would ever need and great owners to work with. Perfect for 3 couples to enjoy a trip to the wine country and Portland area.
Owner response:Thanks Terry and guests, I am glad we got to meet you and it sounds like you took full advantage of our beautiful area. come back anytime ! Debbie and John

My family and I were lucky enough to find such a wonderful place to stay. We stayed at Hoot Owl Hill for a total of 10 days. We came to Oregon for our daughters wedding and needed a spacious home to accommodate our family members, we got more then we expected. The property is beautiful, the home is clean, welcoming and gave us a feeling of warmth. We enjoyed the hot tub every chance we had. We were also surprised at how quiet it was there. We got to see deer roaming through the property and got to see different types of colorful birds. I got to enjoy cooking most of our meals in the spacious kitchen which by the way had everything that was needed to prepare a meal. We even got to harvest some of the vegetables from the garden for our meals. Would I stay there again? Definitely YES. My family and I would like to Thank you Debbie and John for allowing us to stay in such a wonderful home. We look forward to coming back and staying in your home in the near future. Mahalo and Aloha from the Botelho's
Owner response:Kathleen and family, Wow what a great review, we are so happy that everything went well and you enjoyed your time here in Oregon. Glad you were able to use our garden for your meals too, come back anytime we appreciate your business. thanks Debbie and John

. You have such a beautiful house and the landscaping is amazing. We "harvested" some tomatoes, beets, onions, and strawberries from the garden. We had all our dinners at the house because we figured we couldn't get a better view than the deck. The last night we had a campfire at the fire pit and it was perfect. Every day we were discovering something new about the house or the yard. Our friends could not believe that I found such a wonderful rental and neither could I. Not too many of our friends think of vacationing in Oregon wine country but I plan on promoting it and especially Hoot Owl Hill. Once again thank you for the use of Hoot Owl Hill - I wish I was heading back tomorrow! Ken and Jean

Our family stayed at Hoot Owl Hill for our son's wedding which took place at one of the vineyards. Debbie and John could not have been better hosts; Debbie helping with many needs in setting up our rehearsal dinner Crab Boil, which we held in the gym area on the property. Anything we needed, John & Deb were more than happy to provide, including purchasing extra chairs. The house itself is beautiful, the view is stunning, especially with the hot air balloons every morning, the peak of Mt. Jefferson, and all the humming birds. We were welcome to everything in the garden and used the fire pit and hot tub many times. The master bedroom was more than large enough for the Bride and Bridesmaids to prepare for the party. We fit 10 people quite well using the aerobeds which were also provided. We would highly recommend the property to anyone who would like to have a small party or wedding; as well as a lovely home, centrally located, if just visiting the vineyards.

We rented this house for a week in early October. There were three couples in our group and the house was perfect. The home is spacious, with comfortable living and sleeping accomodations, and a very nice kitchen and grille on the deck. The location is ideal for trips to vineyards and surrounding attractions. From here we did day trips to the Oregon Coast, Portland, and Hood River. The owners were kind enough to let us enjoy the vegetables from the garden on the premises - a generous and unexpected touch by them. If/when we go back to the Willamette Valley I hope we're able to find a place as comfortable and enjoyable as this.

This home has everything you would want. The setting is spectacular, overlooking the valley, with views of hot air baloons every morning. We rented this home for a week the end of Sept/beginning of Oct 2010 with friends from London. We are from Boston and were visiting family who also stayed for part of the time and it was totally comfortable. Great attention to detail inside and the landscaping outside is so natural and lovely. We easily visited wineries close by, especially loved Winderlea right in Dundee Hills. Great restaurants in the area and within reach of the Coast. An exceptional property and lovely hosts. We got used to the always busy 99W and tried to avoid it whenever we could. Once you are off it you are in beautiful wine country. The home is secluded and quiet and delightful.

This home was everything the photo and description said. The Grimm's were so helpful both with where to get groceries, questions on the area and some scheduling issues we caused. The house was immaculate and much more than we expected. There were 6 of us and we were total comfortable in this spacious home. This was a girl's getaway Willamette Valley Wine Country trip and we could not have been better located to visit the wineries. We never had far to go to start our tastings or return at night.. Having the beautiful patio and hot tub made our evenings that much more relaxed. The great kitchen made eating in a treat. Morning runs in the neighborhood were delightful. We loved dinner at the Dundee Bistro and the Ponsi tasting room next door to the Bistro was one of our favorites. I hope to come back later this year with my family.

My fiance and I stayed here for our recent wedding weekend. We've been working with the owners for the past year and a half on the event, and they were unbelievable hosts. They met every question, with charm, know-how, and true hospitality. Their home is everything it's touted to be. It is meticulously clean, and cared for, and the view IS that spectacular. The hot tub, and the gym (which we rented for a day), is also up to date, and with hardly any defects. Better cared than most people's owned homes! You can tell the hosts care about their home and their guests, and if you bring the same spirit to the place, you'll leave wanting to come back every year, like we do. It is a GREAT location for exploring Willamette. The traffic on the 99W can get heavy on the weekends, but with some smart backroading, this isn't too much a problem. The house can't quite house 10 people, though, unless you bring your own air bed. It is, in sum, a great place to stay with a few friends and family, or to hold a small group event. The owners are truly a rare gem, as exceptional as their home, in ensuring their guests have a great time here. All of our event guests were equally stunned by how great this place is.

We loved Hoot Owl Hill! We felt very comfortable, it's a style of home we would own - contemporary but also homey. We stayed for a week and wished we could stay longer! Wonderful ceramic art pieces. The kitchen is terrific, too bad we didn't get a chance to cook - so many GOOD restaurants close by! The master bedroom is great - I slept better than I had in a long time! Two couples shared the house and there was plenty of privacy. Sitting on the deck outside was a real treat! So peaceful. Love the Koi pond at the entrance, enjoyed just watching the fish swim around. The sound of the little brook was soothing. The property was better than the description and the pictures and very clean! The owners were very helpful and concerned about our wellbeing. We had not been to Oregon before - loved the green, the hills and vineyards - prettier than California. We liked the people, the commitment to sustainable farming.....the original shops and the food!. The list of wineries is wonderful and we were able to get private tasting appointments at a select few. We recommend Argyle, Domaine Serene and Bergstrom as our top ones, there are so many to choose from - you have to do research and decide! For Restaurants, Painted Lady, Jory's, Tina's, Dundee Bistro and Bistro Maison provided wonderful food and service (and there is good pizza at Abby's!).All the little towns are easy to access - the location is just perfect. We also took time to go to the Evergreen Museum to see the Spruce Goose - enjoyed that too! Hoot Owl Hill was perfect for us - a wonderful home to live in while exploring the Oregon wine country. I'm sure others will enjoy it as well! We're already planning a second trip in the future!

We celebrated my birthday here and the house offered plenty of room and the most beautiful view from all angles. The hot tub was fabulous and there is a small campfire area where we roasted S'mores. The hosts were easy to work with and very nice. They even offer up the fruits/vegetables from the garden to their guests! The wineries were super close by and it was a weekend to remember. This house was the perfect place to celebrate my engagement and birthday.

Absolutely fantastic home. Excellent and well-equipped kitchen and outdoor gas grill. Plenty of space with a great master bedroom. Gorgeous views of the wine country from the deck and hot tub. Great fire pit to enjoy roasted marshmallows in the evenings as well. Although in a quiet and peaceful, private area still quite centrally located and just minutes away from the wineries and tasting rooms. Would definitely come back again!

We recently stayed in your lovely Hoot Owl Hill home. The house was beautiful, well cared for, and had everything that we needed. On chilly December evenings, it was warm and cozy, AND the hot tub was wonderful! Perfect home for 3 couples and great starting point for sampling from nearby wineries.

We recently stayed in Hoot Owl Hill Vacation Getaway. What a beautiful home - furnished with your every need in mind! The views from the house and the hot tub were fantastic. This home is right in the middle of wine country with wineries, vineyards and tasting rooms close by. The master suite was beautiful with a chaise lounge to watch birds and a master bathroom with a heated floor. It was hard to leave and we would highly recommend it as a vacation destination - plan day trips around the area, buy your wine, come "home" and cook dinner and enjoy the sunset with a glass of wine on the deck.

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful, spacious home. Great deck with views of the valley and we enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. The kitchen was very well stocked and we enjoyed cooking some meals after a day of wine tasting. Very well located - near lots of wineries and not too bad a drive out to the coast or to the Gorge. We would definitely come back.
