My husband and I came to Cabarete on our first date for a fun long weekend and found a secret Caribbean Telluride. We extended our first date 4 more days and I came back the next weekend on my own! We fell in love with the Kitesurfing, the surfing, the multiple languages, the people, the music, the nightlife, Mountain biking, Waterfall climbing, whitewater rafting and started planning how we could get back as soon possible and as many times a every year as possible. We decided this was a magical little town that we had to have a home in and decided to go for it! It was one of the best decisions we have made as our family has grown to include a 2 year old and another one due in October. All this and we still room for our friends and family to come and enjoy all the activities that made us fall in love with Cabarete in the first place. Fantastic water sports or just relaxing and enjoying the horses run free up and down the beach over our morning Dominican coffee or Cuba Libre by the pool at sunset made by our Dominican cook and Nanny Sadia.
In choosing this property we stuck to the old real estate adage of "location, location, location". We wanted breath-taking views from every possible place in the house and to be directly on the beach. Not near the beach but ON the beach! We wanted to be able to walk 5 minutes up the beach for a good breakfast at Lo-Lo's or lunch at Kiteclub and at night, to be able to be in town for dinner or the nightlife in under a 5 minute ride on a moto-concho. Most importantly, we wanted to be able to enjoy the nightlife that Cabarete has to offer, but be able to return home and hear the ocean and not the bass from the disco going till 4 in the morning. This is a big difference in making your decision on where to stay in Cabarete-on Kite beach vs Cabarete Beach or Bozo Beach. You get the best of all worlds on Kite beach.

- Oceanfront: As you can see from the pictures, our home is on the ocean. The only thing separating you from the waves is the pool, the palm trees and the beach. If you kite, you can land and launch right from the property. Hose provided for washing kites at end of the day.

- Cabarete is one of the few year round Professional Kitesurfing and surfing locations in the world. It is an amazing place to learn the sport (from Audrey at Daretofly-Audrey is currently third in the world and 50 yards down the beach). If taking lessons doesn't interest you, you can watch the pro's practice for the next World Cup while you enjoy a front row view from the pool, beach or our balcony while you read a book, lay in our hammock or enjoy the National Dominican Drink, a Cuba Libre. Pick up and Drop off by Marcos for world class Surfing/Surfing lessons at Encuentro (5 minutes away) from 123 takeoff every morning and Poolside Massages available from Michelle at Cabarete Massage. RIght next door, MiGym offers Yoga, Spinning, A skateboarding park and gym right on the beach.

Why the Owner Chose Cabarete

The Unique Benefits at this Penthouse Condominium
When you first walk into the house you will taken aback by the expansive view of the ocean and the great room with it's vaulted ceilings. In furnishing the great room sitting and TV area, I worked to pull the colors of the ocean and the trees into the house so that even if you were inside, you still felt like you were experiencing the beauty of the outside. The custom L-couch can comfortably sit at least 10-12 people. All of the pieces I have chosen represent our love of travel, color, and the countries we love. The dining room table can sit up to 14, the bookcase came from Thailand, a hammock from Colombia, and many of the other pieces from Bali. Festive is the best word I can use to describe the style. All of the bedrooms have Sheets and pillows I brought from Pottery Barn or the "W" hotel because to me, it is not a real vacation if you aren't sleeping on one of the most comfortable beds you can remember. The Expansive balcony that can be entered off of by way of the Great room or Den runs the length of the top floor and provides a hammock to lounge in or a great teak table to play monopoly, stratego, or whatever your favorite game may be. The picture of the pool and the beach speak for themselves. Saunter down whenever you like and spend as much time napping in the bean bags, tanning, or walking on the beach. Best yet-we added a lock off so you can rent the Penthouse as a two or four bedroom depending on the type of trip you have planned.

We found Cabarete and fell in love with it and it has provided everything we wanted for a short weekend get-a-way or a more extended relaxing vacation.
