The suite is located in a nice neighborhood. If you're looking for a place to crash it works. We were disappointed in the kitchenet. No sink, no water, no cutting board, and no toaster. the cable tv did not work. The property managers son loaned us dvds . When you enter she suite the floor drops down 2 steps and i fell into the roon twice at night. the property manager said to shut off light when not in the suite. returning at night i forgot the floor drops down and didn't see in the dark. I suggest leaving a light on if returning at night. The suite has lots of room but is a bit run down. One of the blinds fell off when I tried to close it . Couldn't find anything to clean the barbaque so didn't use it . The lawn furniture needed cleaning and the landscaping hasn't seen work in a long time.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: Our guest is correct in that we are located in a lovely neighborhood. We like very much to make ourselves available to our guests and many have become livelong friends over the years. We are sorry to say this guest never asked for our personal assistance as all of these issues were solvable. The kitchenette has an apartment sized fridge, a double cook top, blender, coffee maker, electric fry pan, rice maker and a new, modern TOASTER OVEN, which was there at the time and you can see it in our picture #5. We are happy to provide normal toasters for any guest who asks for one. There are two sinks in picture #10 with plenty of hot and cold water and there are washing tubs, drain unit, dish soap and towels there for those who like to cook in the Suite. The cutting board is a small white one 11” by 6” and is kept in the white wooden pantry near the silverware. The cable box has a remote provided by Oceanic Cable and the flat screen TV has a remote as well that is kept on channel 3. If a guest inadvertently changes the channel on the TV remote it renders the cable useless. We don’t advertise that we provide DVD’s, but we keep 22 movies on hand that our guests can use free of charge if they ask. There is ONE step down into the Suite. We are sorry to hear this guest fell down and are relieved to know he is fine. No one else has ever fallen into that room in the past 3 years. There are two lights in the hallway and one is always kept on. There is also a night light near the floor and the step that any guest can keep switched on if they want to. We are very near the beach and maintenance is always an issue. We replaced all of the kitchen curtains in 2012 and obviously one blind in the living room recently! Our beautiful Garden Island has had many big storms and rains this spring as noted on National T.V., fourteen inches alone while the guest doing the review was here. We do our best to keep up with the landscaping when it is possible to get into the back yard. There is a steel cleaning brush for the propane grill in a drawer on the right hand side. We suggest guests clean their grills when finished. If asked, we are always happy to provide assistance when needed. It is our desire to make sure every guest has a great vacation.

Unfortunately the pool included was being fumigated during our stay so we were not able to enjoy that. I wish we had been notified by the owner ahead of time so we could plan our activites appropriately. Also, the snorkel equipment advertised was mismatched. Of the 8 or so flippers available, not one pair was available. So even if they had one in your size- good luck finding it's mate! Property was relatively clean, but the closet stunk. I would guess it was from the old carpet in there but I would advise them pulling it out. several of the windows and blinds did not function, so we had quite a bit of light sneaking in but that was ok since we were up early. It would have been nice to have functioning windows though to let fresh air in. I did appreciate having the laundry facility available but the manager did not empty his towel loads on several occasions which complicated issues as for where to put things. Was I supposed to fold an entire load of towels so I could dry my swimsuit? We did not have any in person contact with the owner/manager so I did not have a chance to ask him this. Wi-Fi was not very strong signal and cable was intermittent. Location was nice, we walked to the nearby Hyatt and enjoyed it's bar. Beautiful beaches are not far away. Car rental is a must. Manager was friendly via email. I would recommend this property to someone traveling on a budget.Recommended for: Sightseeing.
Owner response: YOU GET MORE THAN YOU PAY FOR! Over the past few months, we have had 99 guests from all over the world who stayed here and many are returners. We really enjoy our guests and our job is to make sure they have a great affordable vacation in the high rent district. We are just a block away from the 5 star Grand Hyatt Hotel. This guest requested room reimbursements because her airline had mechanical problems that caused her to lose one night and the pool was closed for cleaning, either for a lose diaper emergency or a regular schedule. The association does not notify us of this. Unfortunately we were away when this guest came and have an alternate pool she could have used had she contacted us. Our cell and email information is in every guests welcome note. The ocean beaches are nearby and are swimming is possible year around. We used to mention our free snorkel gear but for sure they are not all the same color or model though there are plenty of each size. We did offer to reimburse her the $2.00 for the day long rental from Snorkel Bob's, but there was no response. Although you won't find it any longer in the amenity section, we still keep the box of gear there for guests along with body boards. Closets are sprayed often for insects and we also provide room refreshers and easy to open windows with great ocean breezes. No other guest ever complained about closet odors. The Wi-Fi is Oceanic cable who also provide hundreds of T.V. channels and it all works great. We also have free parking in the driveway. There are fifty folded towels and plenty of sheets in the laundry room along with two baskets for dirty towels the cleaning crew gets to a couple times a week. No guest is ever expected to wash or dry anything. We are in the center of the Poipu area. Our suites are clean and well supplied and we are available to make sure every guest has a great vacation.

Just stayed here for a couple of nights, and it was convenient for everything I wanted to do. A short and nice walk to the beach- a must do while you are here! It's also important to realize that this is located within the Poipu Kai neighborhood- which means you get to use their pool if you'd like. They also have very nice tennis courts you can use either on a daily or monthly basis for a small fee. The property host, Cam, was very helpful and welcoming, and made sure I had access to a couple of movies he'd purchased for viewing, etc. While not fancy, this is a very comfortable stay, clean, very roomy, and definitely a good value!Did you find this review helpful? We stayed a week. We loved this place. You can stay at a fancy hotel anywhere, but while in Hawaii, why not live Hawaiian style. A very comfortable portion of the home, well equipped with all you need. We shopped at Costco and made most of our meals there. Simple and easy with all you need to cook. Sure we had to adapt for kitchen sink uses, but hey it was well worth it. Management were great people, easy going and polite. Lots of beach toys available. Comfy bed and stocked with towels and anything you might need. Walking distance to 2 great beaches, swimming pool and hot tub. Close to many great restaurants and walking to some. (I would recommend Keokis). When we come again this is where we will stay for sure. Peaceful and relaxing!!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: Sharon and her husband were wonderful guests... they are welcome anytime... mahalo

Owner and Sons couldn't have been more helpful in getting us & our luggage (2-ladies don't travel light) settled. Very well appointed (more than just a bedroom) set up and nice little table in Kitchen for morning coffee/lunch (packed for our walk to pool area) which was a lovely stroll. Bathroom was a perfect set up with a nice sitting area off of it. TV for those that enjoy and a great set up on lighting for those that read. Very quiet as well. More than just a room to rent and well worth the reasonable cost. Thanks Cam!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
