From Lihue Airport drive straight out through two lights and turn left when the road ends. Stay on this Hwy. 50 for 10 miles to the KOLOA exit (520) through the tree tunnel. Turn left at the sign for POIPU RESORTS. Go straight through the stop sign on to Pee Road. Go over three speed bumps and turn left at LINAKA. The road ends in one block and the house is on the left corner. The large two story blue house with white trim. The address is 1707 Kelaukia.

This property is in a wonderful location as it is within walking distance of Poipu Beach and excellent trails in and around the Hyatt. The suite, though, is in need of maintenance and TLC. On a very rainy day, there was a serious leak in the closet which wet our suitcases and clothes. The problem had to have been ongoing because the baseball-sized hole in the ceiling near the light fixture was covered by duct tape and the metal around the fixture was rusted. There were also multiple leaks in the ceiling of the lanai (the kitchen!) The screened in porch were the appliances were located was not clean. The dishes and silverware would need to be washed before using. The floor around the stove was filthy. Significant portions of the grout were missing from around the tiled sinks in the bathroom. There were many extension cords all around including one that went between the bedroom and the lanai making it impossible to close that door. I am not sure that the vent of the dryer was correctly installed as there were inches of dryer lint to the side and behind the dryer, a potential fire hazard. I can not recommend this place.
Owner response:Our guests from Michigan were correct in that the Neighborhood location here at Lanai Villas is wondeful as all our guests attest. Normally here on Kauai the tropical trade winds come in from the North East, but while our senior guests where here in late January we had the worst South wind storm in recent history with flood warnings throughout the island. The lanai area is screened in and the powerful winds and rains required an immediate move for our guests. However bad the storm, a house should be leak proof even an older former bed and breakfast house like this one. We had a few leaks where some older repairs failed... so the guests were quickly moved to another Suite. There were no complaints about their new accommodations as they were secure, safe and very comfortable. The owner and handymen were here the following day, repairing above decks and ceiling, calking and waterproofing. The floor in the Lanai area is always clean, even though it looks older and crusty. I know, I clean it myself. Recent additons include an overhead light and fan in the Lanai area though at one time an extension cord was necessary for a table lamp. i think everyone uses extensions cords... The washer and dryer are free for the use of our guests and have been operational for a number of years with no complaints. Both electricians and plumbers have been here since their review was written and to say there is a fire hazard is an extreme and unnecessary statement. We enjoy all of our guests and it is unfortunate that these nice folks could not add how generously they were cared for once they had their new suite... Cam Floria, property manager

We had a wonderful stay. The location couldn't be better, with gorgeous beaches minutes away. The rooms were very comfortable, outfitted with thoughtful touches. Neighborhood with lovely homes. Photos don't do justice to the soft sound of doves and the whisper of the breeze, but certainly show the comfort of the rooms. The owner was gracious, helpful in answering questions and suggesting destinations. We enjoyed shopping at the farmer's market and cooking with local produce. Great restaurants, snorkeling, hikes, swimming, tennis courts and shopping within minutes drive. No "touristy" feeling, the atmosphere was laid back . We went home thoroughly relaxed, having had the opportunity to spend precious time with our family. We would recommend this property and would enjoy returning.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Great amenities. Everything you would ever need for a vacation is here (kitchen, refrigerator etc...) Minutes away from the beach and the Grand Hyatt! Overall, we had an excellent experience. Owner was friendly, and very helpful. ++
