Location: Interlochen, Northwest, Michigan, USA (15 minutes to Traverse City, 25 minutes to Lake Michigan)
Accommodations: Log Home, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths (Sleeps 5-7)
Nature flourishes at this quaint, rustic log chalet just steps from a private beach on Green Lake and minutes from Interlochen Center for the Arts. The Summer Festival brings international artists and talented young summer campers from around the world together for an exciting arts and music celebration. Spread your picnic blanket before the show and drift in the sounds of music and nature.
The Traverse City area abounds with delights for all the family. Crystal Mountain, Arcadia Bluffs and Grand Traverse Resorts provide just five of the superb golf venues in the area.
Don't miss touring Leelanau Peninsula, climbing the dunes at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Seashore, finding petoskies at Lake Michigan's Pyramid Point or Good Harbor beaches, discovering art and antique shopping in Glen Arbor, Suttons Bay or Traverse City, sailing on the Malabar or the Madeleine in West Bay, kissing the moose at Sleder's Tavern, or finishing the day with cherry delights at Cherry Republic in Glen Arbor.
And don't forget river-rafting on the Betsie just minutes away, touring the wineries of Old Mission and Leelanau Peninsulas, eating amazing ice cream with the cows at Moomer's at sunset or fishing just about anywhere!
Green Lake is a 2000+ acre lake, 103 feet deep, noted for good trout fishing but excellent for smallmouth bass. Also good for Northern Pike, Rock Bass and Trout. All kinds of boats are welcome, pontoon, speedboating, sailing, canoeing and fishing. Shallow launch very near property. State maintained cement launch with dock within 1 mile. Because much of the lake is taken up by State Park, a nature preserve and Interlochen Arts Academy, boat traffic on the lake is very light. Listen for our loons as you traverse the lake!
We are just 151 steps from Green Lake where we share a large waterfront park with our small association. The park includes 220 feet of waterfront and a swimming dock with a large shallow area for swimming with a sandy bottom. Our boat dock allows for loading and unloading, as well as in-water anchors in a very shallow area for your boat. The park also includes benches and picnic tables for your use.
Crescendo Chalet is fully furnished with a queen sized bed in the master bedroom overlooking the deck on the second floor, a second bedroom with a full and single bunk, also on the second floor, an upstairs bath, a queen-size futon in the living room on the main floor and a full downstairs bath with washer and dryer. The cozy, full-service kitchen provides everything you will need: refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, blender, dishes, silverware, cooking utensils and gourmet pots and pans.

Jane, I wanted to take an opportunity to tell you that we had a wonderful time at your cottage! It was nicely decorated, comfortable, roomy and had everything we needed. The boys loved take the canoe(thank goodness they learned how to paddle and navigate last year iat 5th grade camp) and being the water was shallow out to a certain point made me feel very comfortable with them using it by themselves (with supervision). We had a bonfire each night and toasted marshmallows for s'mores and hotdogs. We made an effort to get out to Moomers. That was the best tasting ice cream I have ever had! Weird location (out in nowhereville), but worth the trip! We were busy everyday. We got a chance to get to Sleeping Bear Dunes and up to Glen Arbor. Nice little town. Also, thank you for the complimentary wine.

Hello, Richard & Jane, The Elliott girls (Abigail 5, Margaret, 4 and Emma 2 1/2 yrs) all had a marvelous time. The cottage was located just perfect. We all spent lots of time swimming at the Platte River, Interlochen State Park, and TC. We went tubing down the Platte River -- what a blast! (Margaret was a little scared and shared rides with Mom & Dad). We roasted marshmellows & hot dogs over the fires. The dog enjoyed swimming every day while Abby, Margaret, Emma & Dad enjoyed canoeing and trying to fish (just the two big sisters -- ha! ha!) We can't wait to return again for our next vacation in 2006.

"Birds are coming, squirrels are running, we all had fun in the lake today. And when we are cold, we'll get out and then we go back to the cottage. Then we have a bonfire and a fright!. Then we all say goodnight!

A beautiful morning on the lake. I layed on the dock this morning and listened to the music from across the lake. It was like heaven on earth. This morning we paged through the Interlochen Book. All the kids would like to go to school here. We've spent a lot of time in the water and visiting the local sites. What a wonderful area. Can't wait to come back!

We had a GREAT time. One rain day on the 4th of July so we went to TC and took another cool day to enjoy Fun Country! The rest of our days were spent relaxing in the sun, in the water and making campfires. We had a friend visit for a planned couple of days. They ended up spending an extra day. They just couldn't pass up the wonderful times here. We and my friend plan on booking again as soon as we get home; for this is a vacation we want (and need) each year!

July 20, 2003 We came, we read, we swam, we hiked and we relaxed. This was our first experience staying in a chalet in the woods. We didn't know exactly what to expect and feel we were blessed the entire week. We even had a rain day that allowed time for quilt shop hopping. We completed a project----that may be why you find stray threads. We toured the Interlochen campus and enjoyed the many talents of the young people. Erica lost two of her teeth----it was a week we will never forget! Nancy, Emily & Erica Keith & Grandma Lois

August 10-13, 2003 My husband David and I enjoyed our stay here very much. Especially because it allowed us to spend all this time with our daughter, son-in-law, and our three grandsons. It's a nice clean place, very convenient to drive from to the surrounding towns. What a beautiful cabin and set-up.
