If you feel like getting away from it all - THIS LAKE HOUSE IS THE ANSWER. The house is located on over an acre of beautifully wooded land. There is privacy but beautiful homes are not too far away. The big front porch complete with swing and rocking chairs is where that vacation feeling starts. In addition to a front porch there is a SCREENED PORCH on the back of the house. When you walk in all you see is hardwoods and new carpet with glass sliding doors and decks everywhere (in addition to the front porch and screened porch there are 3 more decks). All of our guests say it's like being in a tree house (the fall leaves are gorgeous and Thanksgiving is beautiful!). It's definitely a vacation home. The living room has a pit coach and big screen TV with surround sound and a wood burning fireplace. The kids will love the spiral staircase that goes upstairs to their rooms with their own bathroom. They all love the way the rooms are decorated with their own TVs, DVD players and Nintendo games and station (each room has bunk beds with full size mattresses). The master is on the main with a king-size high quality mattress and has its own bath (TV and DVD). The decorating is all new, current and up-to-date. The terrace level has 2 more bedrooms (one bedroom has a king mattress - the other bedroom has two twin beds) and a room with a pool table and 2 futons. There is a full bath on the terrace level as well.
Great for family gatherings or families vacationing together.
Outside there is a hot tub (8 person), gas grill, fire pit, tire swing and trampoline. There is a gentle slope and easy walk to the lake. The single slip dock with party deck is brand new. We just got it in June. It's located is a large quiet cove. Catch fish and swim right from the dock. The cove is safe and quiet with plenty of room to play. The sunsets are beautiful. Convenient access to public boat ramp and marina with fuel.
The North Georgia Premium Outlet mall is 6 minutes away. Lake Lanier Islands has a water park and offers boat and jet ski rental with Lake-Side dining. Pan for gold in historic Dahlonega or go on wine tasting tours. Flock to Helen in the Fall for Oktoberfest where they have live music and beautiful fall foliage. The apple-picking, pumpkins and corn mazes are all with in 15 minutes away. Amicalola falls offers beautiful hiking and scenery just minutes away.

Why the Owner Chose Dawsonville
We looked for a house on Lake Lanier for years. We had owned lake property before and knew what we wanted. We just never found the right one. In all of our searching we never really looked in Dawsonville. When the realtor took me to the neighborhood our lake house is in, it was actually to look at another house. The house wasn't the right fit but the neighborhood was. I took my husband back to the neighborhood and he felt the same way. We then decided to narrow our search to that specific area. The area has beautiful homes that have character and a family feel to them. It has such a warm friendly feeling. The location is an easy drive right off of 400 and all the shopping and conveniences are 5 minutes away.
The Unique Benefits at this Lake Home
We bought this lake home for several reasons. We loved the curb-appeal. The big long driveway dotted with trees and landscaping and the front porch is very inviting. We liked the big lot it's on (1 acre). We live in a sub-division with standard lots so this feels more like the country. The house itself is fun! You definitely feel like you're on vacation. The house had plenty of room to entertain and plenty of room for the kids to play outside. It was very important to us to have an easy walk to the lake. We wanted to be in a large cove where the kids could swim safely but we wanted a big water view. This property has it. The view is spectacular.

My husband and I relocated to Georgia from Chicago 9 years ago. When we lived in Chicago we had a lake home on a small lake in Michigan. Before we decided to move to Georgia my husband wanted to check out lakes near the Atlanta area. He knew he would not be able to live in a place without a lake nearby. We had heard about Lake Lanier a few years previous because the Olympics had held their rowing venues on Lake Lanier. As soon as he saw Lake Lanier he knew he could be on the lake for a long time. The beautiful trees, cliffs, and red clay that mark the shoreline had him sold. We started out boating on the lake and finally bought a house three years ago. We have so many wonderful family memories on this lake. It keeps us coming back.
