"The house lived up to all of our expectations. It is very close to town, and yet far enough away to provide a quiet retreat when you need it." That's from the latest review!
Walk 2 blocks to the heart of town then rest and relax out of the traffic and noise on one of Saugatucks best blocks.
2 bedroom newer home with everything updated. You'll enjoy new appliances, furniture, decor, carpeting and beds. It's not chabby chic, no cob webs, squirrels in the attic, creaky floors, dust or dead mice, it's clean, newer and everything works.
Sleep 4 in the two bedrooms and 2 more on sleeper sofa.
Park at the house and walk to Uncommon Grounds, Phil's, all the parks, shops, ice cream and the famous Chain Ferry. Get to Oval Beach by foot, bike or car. Inside you can chill out in the "garden room" with walls of windows ideal for reading, writing, napping or contemplating what you're going to do when it's time to go, ugh! The floor plan is open from the kitchen to the dining room and living area with vaulted ceiling and fireplace. Two bedrooms with closets and new queen beds are quiet and tranquil, both open onto a secluded back porch. Your home is on a very quiet street with vacant lots to the west and north. Your neighbor's are a retired artist, a cool family of 3, a local singer/song writer and the Mayor!
If you need us we're just down the road but we won't be driving by checking on you...creepy! We greet all visitors personally and offer a guided tour of the area along with suggestions and insider tips. We can get you a baby sitter and introduce to the bartenders, whatever you need! If you don't have a good time it's not going to be because of your accommodations.
Pets require permission.
See ya at Phil's!

This property met all of our expectations and then some! Nick was an excellent source for local recommendations and those we experienced were spot on. The home is very close to many shops and restaurants all within walking distance. It was so inviting we decided to "dine-in" each night we were there. I would highly recommend this property to others. It was perfect for my wife and I along with our 4 year old daughter and our golden retriever. We hope to come back again! Thanks again Nick!
Owner response:Hey Mike, glad you enjoyed the house and your time in Saugatuck and thanks for the wonderful review. Sophia's little work of art was a treat! Good luck with your classes and career. Best to you all. N

We had a great weekend in this charming, comfortable and spacious home. It's a very short walk to the middle of downtown Saugatuck. The home is open and welcoming, even nicer than the photos can show. We loved the back yard and porch as a nice quiet get away. The owner was very easy to work with and provided information about the area and suggestions about things to see and do which made our time all more enjoyable. They even provided four bikes for our use. I highly recommend this home!

WE LOVED IT! We met our two adult daughters at Nick's place and had a great 3 days. Nick met us at the house and gave us tips on what to do and great restaurant recommendations. The house was much larger than shown in the photos. Everything was clean and beautiful. Nick put fresh flowers in every room! What a host! Lots of beautiful dishes and glassware which really made it seem more upscale. Location was perfect on a quiet street only 2 blocks from town. The gas fireplace was a nice treat to use in the evening. A surprise was that there were bikes to use. . . although it was a bit rainy and wind gusts of 45 miles an hour. Would definitely stay there again. It was PERFECT! We've been to Saugatuck before staying in B&B's, but this was perfect (and less expensive) for the family!
Owner response:Hi Marcy, so glad you enjoyed the house and your reunion with your daughters. Did you guys wind up taking the music CD? I logged on to your website the other day and really like your designs a lot. Maybe one day I'll be your customer! Hope to see you and your family in the future. Best, N

We enjoyed our stay at this home. Good location in a quiet neighborhood with a short walk to town. Nice, open kitchen and living room. Rainy weather did not allow for time to enjoy the fire pit but that would have been a plus. We also didn't get the chance to use the bicycles that were available but that also was a extra benefit.

The home was immaculate and welcoming! It was rainy during our stay, and the fireplace made the room cozy and warm. Nick is a wonderful owner and host -- the restaurant recommendations (Phil's and Ida Reds) were fantastic. The location is ideal to walking to town to shop and/or enjoy something to eat or drink; as well, as walking through the neighborhood to enjoy the architecture of the homes and the beautiful yards. We hope to visit again sometime. Thank you, Nick!
Owner response:Hey Lori, thanks for the choosing our place for your last minute get away and for the kind words here. Hope your recuperation goes well and we see you again. Best, N

Much more open space in living areas than photos suggest, and a great kitchen with counter seating and an island. Plus two updated baths. I wish I'd found this place when we had preschoolers because it is ideal, open and on one level plus room in one of the bedrooms for a portable crib. As it was, we enjoyed it particularly because our large dog was welcome. Nick is as much host as owner, greeting us with fresh flowers, a bottle of wine and a CD of great music. His recommendations for things around town are spot on. Two blocks down the hill to shops, galleries and restaurants but the house is on a lovely quiet residential street within sight of an historic church. A great base for exploring Saugatuck!
Owner response:Thanks so much for the review Patricia, it was nice getting to know you and Richard a bit and sharing some laughs at Wally's. You were the first guest to leave me updates of your day's adventures....it was very neat and welcome. Hope to see you again. Best, Nick

We have looked a couple times online for homes to rent in Saugatuck, and this one really grabbed our attention because of its clean and open appearance. We were excited that it was available the week we were looking to visit. The house lived up to all of our expectations. It is very close to town, and yet far enough away to provide a quiet retreat when you need it. The layout of the home is great for a family vacation - 2 bedrooms and a large, open living area where the family can meet and hang out. We have a young toddler, and especially appreciated the open floor plan which allowed our little girl lots of room to walk around and explore without ever being in danger or far from our sight. The house gets lots of sun light in the early part of the day, and has plenty of windows in the main part of the house for the house to get in and around. I also appreciated the super fast cable Internet. I ran a couple speedtests and was getting download speeds up to 16 MB per second, which made it easy to handle work matters that arose. The house also has above average AT&T mobile broadband coverage. This house will be at the top of our list for our next Saugatuck visit.
Owner response:Hey Tom, wow, what an awesome review....so glad you enjoyed the house and had a good time. Sorry the babysitting didn't work out, Mary was wiped out from starting school. Don't overlook coming up here this fall for a weekend getaway, it's really nice well into November. Hope to see you guys again. Best, N

My husband, infant son, dog, and I stayed at this fantastic house. The house was clean and neat when we arrived. The location was perfect - it was just a 2 block walk to everything but set back enough that you could enjoy the peaceful, quiet neighborhood. We loved the large kitchen which was stocked with everything we could possibly need (we cooked several times) and of course couldn't tear ourselves away from the fire place. We're hoping to return this fall to see some of the leaves change. Thanks, Nick for all of your help!
Owner response:Hey Jennifer, glad you and Hirsch enjoyed the house and your time in Saugatuck. There's still more to enjoy in the Fall so come back then. Hope to see you again, best, Nick

This is such a great place! The family room/kitchen area is so open. Plenty of room for a family. Also, the location is perfect. It is just 2-1/2 blks from Butler St but yet is still in a quiet area. It was so nice to walk to dinner or the ice cream shop. Thanks, Nick!!
Owner response:Betsy, thanks for the nice words...you guys were the easiest guests! Glad you had a good time, hope to see you next year. Best, Nick

This house was clean, open, airy, and very comfortable. The location is perfect - we were easily able to walk to town for restaurants and shopping. The owner takes great care in cleaning and maintaining the property, and was extremely helpful in answering questions and recommending nearby activities and restaurants. We think you'd enjoy your stay as much as we did!
Owner response:Hey Heidi, thanks for choosing us for part of your vacation and thanks for the kind words here. We now can say we've had a 40th birthday group as guests! Hope the rest of your vacation was good and we see you next year. Best, Nick
