We stayed in Moonshine Cottage for 5 nights (4 days). We loved the place. Highlights were the lovely wood and high ceilings, the hot tub on the deck, and the view. Since it was Christmas season, we were appreciated that the place had a small Christmas tree set up, along with some lights on the balcony. We had two grandsons ages 18 and 21 with us - they enjoyed the pool table and foosball, as well as the game setups. The kitchen was quite well equipped, the wireless worked fine, and we appreciated the fireplace and nice supply of firewood. We also enjoyed walks up and down the exceptionally steep hill, and the birders among us saw some nice birds. Our family members came from Utah, Chicago, Massachusetts and TN for our pre-Xmas reunion.Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, age 55+.

The cabin was in a great location, close enough to everything in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburgh, but far enough out of the hustle and bustle and traffic. There were six of us in the group and the cabin was big enough for us to enjoy our time there. The cabin had wonderful views of the surrounding mountains and beautiful sunsets. The only negative for the cabin was heavy dust collected on the blades of the ceiling fan made it non operational. We will most likely look to stay there again next year when we take our annual Thanksgiving Vacation in Pigeon Forge.Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

We had such a great time. The weather was perfect. The drive up the mountain was a little scarry first time up, after that it was a breeze. We saw a bear cub just out the back door. The cabin was awesome it was clean and still had the lived in effect, it did not feel like you were going into a show place but you were going into a home, this is a home where your feel comfortable and welcome. The game area was not what we expected but we were able to work with it. The owners were exceptionally easy to work with.Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, age 55+.

I took four generations of women in our family (ages 5 to 75) on a recent "getaway" here, and we had a ball! The view is spectacular, and the cottage has everything you could ask for and more. The cottage is located so close to everything, but has the feel of being "removed" and secluded in mountainous beauty. We enjoyed our daily excursions, came home to cook supper, then relaxed in the hot tub. What a week! We didn't even mind the rain! Thank you for providing such a nice place in such a beautiful setting. We hope to return soon!Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, age 55+.

We really enjoyed out stay here. Great location - remote enough yet a short drive to the action. There is wildlife everywhere and a great view! There were some small maintenance issues, such as a empty propane tank and broken plunger, but I purchased these during my stay and the owner reimbursed us. We reported some minor maintenance issues and the owner responded positively and actively to fix them. Kudos to the owners for being dedicated to having a good and safe home for others to enjoy. I will gladly stay here again.Recommended for: Families with young children.

Had a great time at cabin.. The views are amazing! The drive is alittle steep but worth it and you get use to it. The kitchen is fully stocked.. The owner is very friendly and willing to help if you have any questions. It has a very homey feel and the decorations and amenties are great with no problems.Had a great time there and will stay there again...I would recommend Cades Cove! a must to do.. we seen 5 bears while there... and Bennetts BBQ has great food and Flapjacks are good tooRecommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

My family stayed at Moonshine 3/23/12-3/29/12. We had the most wonderful, memory-filled vacation in the Smoky Mountains! The cabin is absolutely perfect with an exceptional view -from the balcony, and the living area inside (floor to ceiling windows face the mountains). Waking up every day to the expansive view of the Smoky Mountains is incredible to say the least. The decor is lovely right down to the last detail which made our stay feel like we were right at home. All of the rooms were very spacious and the beds were super comfortable. My daughters, 14yrs and 8yrs, had a blast with the WII, foosball and pool table. The location was perfect for us- we love Dollywood- and the cabin is 6 minutes from door to Dollywood tram. We also love hiking in the Smoky Mountains, Gatlinburg and all of the fun in Pigeon Forge. Moonshine is perfectly located to access all of our favorite things. The drive up the mountain is very reasonable - even for flatlanders like us! Genia was a pleasure to deal with, immediately responding to any questions we had. We can't wait to return to Moonshine!Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, age 55+.

My family and I stayed the week after Christmas and this was the perfect place to stay. There was plenty of space for everyone. The cabin was well supplied with everything we needed. There are two decks, one right outside the living room with chairs to overlook the beautiful views and one split level outside the downstairs bedroom, one level with the hot tub and the other for sitting in the rocking chairs or eating breakfast at the table. At night there are candles in the chandeliers and lanterns to light up the deck. In the bedrooms, the beds were firm but comfortable and had plenty of room to unpack our suitcases to feel more like home. We live on very FLAT land so we were a little concerned about the road getting to the cabin, we didn't have a four wheel drive, but there were no problems. The road was a little steep but we put the car in a lower gear and there were no problems. The cabin is very well maintained, and has a homey feel. It was close to everything, we were in Gatlinburg within 20min or to the Old Mill within 10min. We have stayed in several different cabins in the Pigeon Forge area that were ran by agencies and they were fine and clean but MoonShine Cottage was like a home away from home. Thank you Genia for sharing your cottage with us, we plan to keep your information to stay again.Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, age 55+.

What a wonderful cabin with a fantastic view! Easy to get to & close to attractions but you feel miles away! The beds were so comfortable, the kitchen well supplied with cooking necessities, the hottub felt wonderful after a day of hiking, the multiple tvs crystal clear, games & movies for your pleasure. I felt like I was a guest being pampered in someone's home! We saw a bear at Clingman's Dome, elk and wild turkey at Oconoluftee Visitor Center, and even some shooting stars while gazing at the sky from the deck of this beautiful cabin! Thank you Genia for allowing us to stay here. It was a great vacation we will never forget!Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, age 55+.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2008
About the owner: I am a married, 59 year old business woman. We own another home in this area that we do not rent and use only as a vacation home. We have several businesses and would love to move to the area except for our businesses. I have personal friends in the area to do house cleaning and repairs and maintenance that are reliable and dependable.
Why the Owner Chose Pigeon Forge:
We chose to buy here because we have another home here. This property is unique and has one of the best views of the mountains that can be found in the area. We love the peace and quietness
of the area and the proximity to all the things good about this area. We added touches to Moonshine Cottage that you don't ordinarily find in overnight rentals so our renters can really
feel at home and safe. No crowded complex with noise--just nice family atmosphere. God added the beautiful view!
