We were a group of 12 adults (including 5 couples) and 1 baby. This house worked really well for us all to get together and enjoy each other's company for a week over Christmas. We rode the bus to ski at Winter Park which worked well, but we decided that, for us, it was more convenient to drive to the resort. I think that the whole group would also recommend tubing in Fraser - no skill required, and much more exciting than I was expecting! There are plenty of cross-country skiing or snowshoeing options nearby too; we hiked up Jim Creek and skied around St Louis Creek, but there is much more to explore. Ski Broker (opposite Safeways) had very reasonable alpine ski rentals, and Icebox (further west on highway 40) rented us cross country gear. Our group made little use of the nearby restaurants, finding it more fun and affordable to cook for each other (the well equipped kitchen made this feasible), but I can recommend breakfast at Sharky's. I had expected to offer reports on the hot springs at Hot Sulphur Springs, but in the end the immediate gratification of a gin and tonic with a mince pie in the hot tub proved difficult to overlook for the soakers in our group. With regard to the specifics of the house, the description is accurate and the owner is very easy to work with (even cutting a Christmas tree for us to decorate). Things that I think are worth highlighting: there's a high quality pool table in the recently refurbished basement; the bed's are comfortable; there is a second kitchen in the basement which is very helpful for preparation or if more than one person is contributing to a meal; it was possible for all 12 of us to eat together by pushing two tables together.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Lots of space for large groups. Well equipped kitchen. Owners easy to work with. We would definitely stay there again!
