Luxury Condo in the Heart of the Byward Market
Year Purchased: 2006
Why the Owner Chose Ottawa
We bought this condo as part of a retirement plan because it was in the heart of the action in our city. Close to everything, with a view on the City and the Gatineau Hills. The perfect place to just step out and participate in life around us when we grow older.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
This is one of the most sought after and prestigious addresses in Ottawa. The building was conceived with luxury and comfort in mind close to restaurants, shopping and all major tourist attractions. We furnished it to reflect elegance and youth.
Owner's Map of Ottawa
My husband and I are both business owners and have two sons. We have always loved travelling and in recent years have used VRBO to rent apartments with great success. We love the idea of shopping at foreign markets and cooking or buying prepared local delicacies to eat-in. When the children were young it was so much easier to be in an apartment with full kitchen than a small hotel room. I suppose that is why we purchased this unit in the heart of the market and stocked the kitchen with everything a cook needs.

Just got back from Ottawa where we went to see the Tulips. They were spectacular as was the Condo. It is a perfect spot for browsing through the Byward Market and is within walking distance of the museums and many restaurants in the area. The Condo itself was very clean, well appointed with everything needed for an extended stay and the people and staff were very friendly and helpful. We would not hesitate to return.

Catherine and Murray truly have a home from home and you feel it as soon as you walk in the door. No detail has been forgotten. We have been to Ottawa before and stayed in a very nice hotel suite, never again. We will return to our home from home from now on. Thanks to you both and the concierge for everything. Kathy and Cliff.

We weren't sure that we would like such modern, chic surroundings but this apartment is fantastic. Murray did a great job of welcoming us and made it easy for us to settle right in. The furnishings, kitchenware, beds and linens are first rate; the apartment building is luxurious and, although we didn;t have time to take advantage of them, the fitness and pool facilities looked very inviting. From the apartment to the parking lot - everything was neat and CLEAN. The underground parking was a godsend as parking in Ottawa is a bit of a challenge and Michael, the concierge, just can't do enough to assist you. He's a professional! The location of this apartment is absolutely perfect - right across the street from the Byward Market (and a Beavertail concession - the busiest concession we've ever seen) and walking distance to the Parliament Buildings, National Gallery, the Canadian Museum of Civilization, the Mint, Rideau Centre and Rideau Canal - even Rideau Hall, if you want to stretch your legs a bit. Or, if you are travelling by car, it's easy access to pretty much anywhere from here. In addition to the usual tourist attractions, we would highly recommend a drive across the river to the Gatineau Park and a visit to the estate of William Lyon McKenzie King. It's an amazing place and gave us a new appreciation for Mr.King - a man of considerable vision. While in the Gatineau, be sure to drop by Chelsea, a charming village with a great pub (try the fish and chips). In all, we were so very impressed by our nations capital! Many thanks to Katherine and Murray for providing us such marvellous accommodations; we would highly recommend this apartment to our friends.

My wife and I found this condo to be very central to almost all the key highlights that Ottawa has to offer. Very private and secure building with a concierge that is second to none and help you out with anything you would like to do and/or see. Highly recommend to all discerning travelers.

This is one of the best condo's we have stayed in; the location is superb-- close to the market, restaurants, the canal, river and Parliament. We were able to park the car in the convenient underground secure garage and walk everywhere. The unit is very clean, nicely decorated with lots of nice light spilling in the windows; the kitchen well equipped with a gas stove and large refrigerator. And the bathroom is well lighted, good size and the shower is large with great shower heads. We would definitely rent this one again. Art museum and Canadian Mint are fun things to do too. And biking along the Rideau is pretty, peaceful and fun.

We had a wonderful time in the market. Went for a great bike ride down canal, the art gallery was great and the walks were wonderful. We had great meals in the market but it was all centered around our lovely home in the condo. Many thanks, we hope to come aback again.

View was incredible and Canada Day fireworks amazing to see from this location. Thanks for that tip Catherine. We walked everywhere, Canadian War Museum, Parliament Hill, Museum of Civilisation - the location fantastic. Drive into Gatineau Park very easy from George St. nd worth the day trip. .... Otherwise, the flexibility of eating in and packing lunches to go allowed us to maximize our time in Ottawa. We had a great trip!

Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful condo. It served as the perfrect launch point for all that made our week a wonderful stay. The Market, Beaver Tails, the Metropolitain, tea at the Chateau Laurier (where we were married in 1997) and the Museum of Nature. We were able to see our friends here in Ottawa and come "home" to your place each night, relax and get ready for the next day. Michael (the Concierge) and the desk staff were superb - directions, tips and friendly conversation! Summed up, our stay here was delightful and your condo and hostpitality made it all happen for us, Thanks again.
