Accommodations: Condo, 2 Bedrooms + Office, 3 Baths (Sleeps 7)
Keywords: Condominium, new, beautiful views
As you open the door to “Los Pelícanos” building at Punta Marina, you will feel an overwhelming sense of beauty and peace. Located in a private, hillside complex overlooking the ocean, the condo has one of the most extensive views of the Bahía de Zihuatanejo, the town and the surrounding mountains. You can enjoy this breathtaking view from the huge private terrace, dining area, kitchen, open-air living room and 2 bedrooms.
Built in 2008, with 2,500 SF of space, the condo gives you plenty of room for enjoyment. All of the woodwork and decorative elements were handmade by local craftsmen, for a classic and elegant Mexican feel. The condo occupies the 3rd floor of a 5 level building, assuring tranquility and a lovely ocean breeze.
The condo faces north, so the rooms stay nice and cool during the day and offer an unobstructed view of the sunset over the ocean. You can count on the soothing ocean breeze to lull you to sleep, but each room is also equipped with ceiling fans and air conditioning for hotter summer nights. The master and second bedrooms have their own bathrooms with tastefully tiled showers and Talavera sinks. The third bedroom/studio shares a bathroom that is open to the rest of the condo.
A large modern kitchen with a panoramic ocean view makes cooking a pleasure. The adjoining dining room can comfortably accommodate 8 guests at the one of a kind glass and cactus root table. One of the best features of the condo is the folding glass door that joins the dining room with the open-air living room, for a truly unique living space.
The terrace is furnished with a very comfortable and modern couch, a traditional Mexican equipal dining set for 4, and a small soaking tub for two – the perfect place to cool off and enjoy a margarita at sunset. The terrace is also equipped with an entertainment center, complete with CD player, TV and DVD player. The condo is just a 3 minute walk down stairs to Playa de Ropa beach – so close that you can actually hear the sound of the waves on the beach. On the way to the beach is a large waterfall pool surrounded by a tropical garden. As you continue on the quaint path to the beach, you may hear parrots in the trees or see an iguana sunbathing. The condo is only a short walk away from a number of beachfront restaurants that serve scrumptious seafood, and just across the street from “La Escollera”, a 5-star restaurant with a beautiful view and an infinity pool. A 5-minute drive takes you downtown to Zihuatanejo, where you will find a classic old Mexico style atmosphere with pedestrian-only streets, a wide range of eating/dining experiences and numerous “Tiendas de Artesanías” Mexicanas (Mexican handcraft boutiques/stores).

My partner and i have rented condos in many places. THis place was wonderful and the owner could not have been more helpful and accommodating. you feel like you are staying in someone's well appointed home, not a stripped down investment property. While not really walking distance to town, the area is very quite and the walk down to the beach did not take long ( a lot of steps, though). Dulce did a nice job and she even did some food shopping before we got there, and was waiting for us when we arrived.....ON CHRISTMAS DAY. The place was super clean and the photos were indeed very accurate. The view was truly spectacular and we can't wait to return.

I couldn't have been more pleased with this condo for our stay in Zihuatanejo. The spacious rooms are light, airy and tastefully furnished, with a fully equipped kitchen. The view of the bay and the beach from the terrace is not only spectacular during the day, but at night the lights from the town across the bay are equally breathtaking. We [I, my daughter, her husband and my grandchildren] are looking forward to staying in this condo again next year.

Great Condo on La Ropa Beach

My girlfriend and I just returned from a week's stay in Zihuatanejo. It was my first trip, but my girlfriend has been several times. When we began our search for lodging she insisted on staying on La Ropa beach, as opposed to Downtown Zihuatanejo. I was very pleased by the decision to do this. While we weren't walking distance into town, we were just a short walk to the best bathing beach, which had plenty of restaurants and several little markets. Downtown is just a short ride, maybe 5 minutes, but we only went into town a few times for groceries and shopping. We preferred the peacefulness and tranquility of the condo and La Ropa beach. The condo itself is really nice and new. It looks exactly as it does in the photos and was impeccably clean upon our arrival. We were impressed by the tasteful blend of modern and traditional Mexican decorations and furnishings, which looked classy and clean. We also LOVED the open air balcony overlooking the bay, and spent many many hours lounging on the sofa with our books. The showers were also a favorite feature. They are big walk-ins decorated with pebbles. There are new a/c units in each room, but we opted to keep the huge balcony sliding doors and every window open instead. The kitchen is also fully stocked with utensils and appliances, and there is a washing machine in the back room. We are looking forward to coming back with several our close friends.

2 friends and I stayed at the condo for a week and it was the best vacation we have had in years. The living arrangements are ideal for families, a couple or 3 singles like us. Because the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our own meals and after a trip to the market on the first day, we cooked almost every night. Nothing will come close enjoying a fantastic home cooked meal with a breathtaking view of Zihuatanejo. Also, anytime we wanted to leave the condo, it was either a short walk down to the beach or a quick taxi ride to downtown. I know I will be back soon; I just hope the condo is available. Thanks
Owner response:Daniel . Thanks for your review, from what I heard you all had a great time. Jaime

My family and I had a great time in Zihuatanejo. The condo was very bright and spacious and the views were just incredible. The condo had all of the amenities we needed and then some. It’s nicely decorated in a modern Mexican style and was very comfortable. We had a nice experience with the reservations. The owner was very responsive, the onsite housekeeper, Dulce, was very personable and had good energy. I will definitely plan to be back here again next year.

I stayed in this condo for about a week with friends, and had a fabulous experience. The condo itself was roomy and spacious enough for our group of 6, easily. There are two bedrooms and an office that could easily be a third bedroom; as well as three full bathrooms and laundry. The condo has a fantastic pool just down a few flights, and was never crowded or noisy. Playa La Ropa and several bars/restaurants are just a short walk down a private drive, and it’s very easy to walk to Playa las Gatas from the condo. I’d recommend the condo to anyone looking for an easy, relaxed vacation. The kitchen and dining area were great for dining in, and the main town of Zihuatanejo is just a short drive away for a night out in town. My favorite part was the hammock chair on the porch- what an amazing view! It makes for a great, lazy afternoon of reading, sleeping, and enjoying the ocean air.

I have been there two years in a row and am already planning my trip for next year! Zihuatanejo is a lovely little town, and this condo is very nicely done. I love falling asleep to the sound of the waves and eating breakfast on the balcony overlooking the bay. The beach is just a short walk down the hill, but you have to take a taxi to get into town. All in all, not the kind of place you'd want to go to for college spring break, but the perfect spot for relaxing in style!
