This is by far one of the most amazing condo's you'll come across. We own at the Westin just down the beach, and found this because we had used up our timeshare for the year. You really don't need to bring anything but your swimsuit. The condo is stocked, The resort is beautiful, and while the owners advertise this as an Island view, you can see the pool and ocean from the large lanai, and the sound of the waves lulled us to sleep every night. I am able to give this 5 stars.. but if I could, I'd give it 10.

Well, we are back from our trip and I have to tell you, your place is absolutely WONDERFUL. The location was perfect and with a great market right across the street and a restaurant right on the premises, if you didn't want to leave the resort, you wouldn't need to!!! The space was very, very comfortable and spacious and the views were AMAZING. We ate every meal out on the lanai and were mesmerized by the views each time. The resort is also so beautiful, and the pool area is enormous...we would definitely stay here again. Thank you so much for sharing your place with us. It is a vacation we will never forget!!!

We stayed in this property this past Christmas (Dec 2010) for 7 days. I highly recommend it and must say that all persons in our party had nothing but good to say about this suite. It was very spacious, and has a wonderful hugh balcony that adds a tremondous amount of living space. The property was just as described in the add on VRBO and the owner answered all of my many questions. It is immaculate, and included everything in the kitchen, all bedroom linens and towels that we needed. It is definitely a place that I would return to on another visit to Maui. The view off the lanai is beautful. The Honua Kai is a top notch resort and did not disappoint. It is a great place for people with little kids and teenagers or just adults. There is a grocery store, within walking distance of the resort, and the boardwalk along the beach winds in out of Kaanapali taking you all the way to the Whaler's Village.

I must say, I don't write reviews often. However, our stay at this 2-bedroom unit at the Honua Kai was absolutely perfect! We arrived and could enter right into the suite with our keypad lock combination that was provided and settle in right at home. The condo itself has a fabulous ocean view and the lanai is enormous. The lanai doors completely open up for the majority of the condo, including one of the bedrooms. The lanai also features beautiful patio furniture complete with a dining table for six. That is where we ate many a meals and shared a drink or two. The suite's two bedrooms and baths are gorgeous!!! They are very high-quality furnishings and the air conditioning and ceiling fans were so quiet and cooled the unit down completely. Like an ice box if you want it to be! The sound proofing from the other units is great, didn't hear a peep from next door. It is a corner unit, so only one neighbour, which is a bonus. The appliances in the kitchen were top notch, as well as the 3 flat-screen televisions complete with movie channels. The unit is in the best location within the Honua Kai. It has a great ocean view and a great mountain view. It does not feel closed in, as some of the other ocean-view units in the complex can feel. It has a huge grassy area in front of the lanai. The grounds and pools are absolutely stunning. They are kept immaculately clean. We toured other resorts in Kaanapali and this was the cleanest by far. The pools are great for all ages and are situated in such a fashion that there is lots of privacy to be had. The restaurant Dukes is delicious ! All in all, you can't go wrong with this condo. Hoping to go back again next year!

My husband, daughter and I stayed in this condo for our 20th Anniversary. We booked it for 6 nights and when we arrived at the condo we loved it so much that we cancelled our 3 night Oahu visit to say there for the full nine nights. It was the right decision. Karen, the owner, along with Kaanapali property managers, were both very accommodating. The condo was gorgeous: a corner unit with a huge wrap around balcony with sliders that opened up completely and gave a marvelous view of the ocean and the daily rainbows, a fully equipped, modern kitchen, which was supplied with starter coffee, linens and soap. The two bedrooms, both masters w/ comfy king beds and large, luxurious bathrooms were large and both had TVs. Nice Family room with TV for relaxing. There was plenty of closet space in the bedrooms and large hallway, which was great for all the beach gear. As for the resort, it was in a great location, beautiful beach, two pools, waterslide, hot tubs and plenty of chairs. The resort / pool area was never crowded, so no worries getting pool side chairs. The deli / store downstairs was very good. Two of the days we ordered sandwiches and ate them pool side for lunch. One of the best and most relaxing dinners we had was at the on-site oceanfront restaurant. Our stay at this condo made it one of the best vacations we've ever had! I wish it were closer - we'd go every year!

We had a great stay at this Honua Kai condo. The condo is beautifully decorated with a very nice full kitchen. It was perfect for our family of 4! The kids loved the water slide and lazy river pool. The beach is beautiful and great for swimming. Duke's is right downstairs- food is great (especially the fish tacos) and being able to order drinks/food poolside makes it feel like you're at a hotel. There's a nice little market in the lobby for light fare- snacks, salads, sandwiches, etc. The adjacent building has a coffee shop. Shops at Kaanapali are within walking distance- 20-30 minutes along the beach. Next door is the Westin timeshares and they have a great pirate ship pool area for kids... we crashed that a few times and the kids loved it. Overall, we had a great experience and would go back. Aloha!

Having been to Maui a dozen times, I must admit that our time spent at this location was the best by far. Our family of six loved the the beautiful accommodations and especially the deck, where we ate dinner every night (using the BBQ's next to the pools) or enjoying coffee every morning. The beach, the pools, the walking paths, the proximity to the grocery store, the views and even the key pad entry into the unit so we did not have to carry around room keys, all put together to make this one spectacular place. We plan on returning here again.

Spent four amazing nights at Honua Kai in May with my wife and kids, celebrating our 25th anniversary. This place is everything they say about it and more. The pictures of the resort and the condo show how amazing it is and it is even better when you are there to see it. The condo is fantastic and has everything you could possibly need. The deck is even bigger than it looks in the pictures and is a great place to hang out and take in the beautiful Hawaiian scenery and weather. This resort has to be the best one in Kaanapali. It has everything and is so beautiful.It is very close to so many great beaches and places to visit. We will go back there again and again.
