Located in a quiet residential neighborhood south of Rte. 28, this home is just 7/10 mile walk to popular Red River Beach; 1/10 mile walk to Skinequit pond for canoeing, kayaking or exploring; and a 5 minute drive to both Harwich Port and Chatham for boutique shopping and casual dining.
A beach vacation shouldn't mean 'roughing it'! Laughing Lobster Cottage has all the amenities you desire: central a/c, fully equipped kitchen, full-size washer/dryer, gas fireplace, cable and wireless Internet access, super-comfortable beds, high-quality linens (provided!), basement game room/media center with flat panel TV, pool table and more, outdoor h/c shower, large (6-person) Jacuzzi and grill in private backyard. Harwich still has that quintessential "Old Cape" feel - wild roses and hydrangeas in summer, weathered clapboards, homemade ice cream and friendly shop owners. We arrive and instantly feel like we've been transported to a simpler time.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Laughing Lobster Cottage is tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood in South Harwich. We awaken every morning to the sounds of birds who nest in the Conservation land across from our home. Shell-laden Red River Beach is just a 12-minute stroll down the road. At the end of the day, we return home to soak in the Jacuzzi, grill dinner and enjoy a family movie or pool game in the basement media/game room.

My family had a wonderful experience at the Laughing Lobster Cottage. It had ALL the amenities you could imagine and more. It was VERY clean, too. We are looking forward to our stay next year.

We had a great time at the Laughing Lobster! A beautiful home, absolutely immaculate, well equipped with everything we needed. The pool table was lots of fun! Well located, within just a few miles there were many fun things to do. There's a great beach very close to the house; also try Hardings Beach in Chatham, there's a beautiful one mile beachy walk to Stage Harbor Lighthouse. All amenities were high quality, beds, towels, etc., we were very comfortable during our entire stay. The kitchen was so well equipped we didn't have to go out to pick up a single thing! It was fun reading the guest book, about all the good times other families have had at the Laughing Lobster. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This nicely decorated home provided us with a lovely, comfortable space in which to enjoy the ambiance of Cape Cod. It is close to a delightful, clean, white beach (Red River) that had adequate parking and facilities right there. The Laughing Lobster provided beach toys, towels, an umbrella, and even a beach cart to take to the beach. In the evenings, we enjoyed the hot tub in the yard or used the game room pool table and foos ball table. There was so much to enjoy, that we hardly had time to view the large flat screen TV in the basement media room. The location is easy access to main roads, yet off on side road that is quiet and peaceful. It was perfect to have a separate master bedroom suite for our privacy and quiet, while our niece, nephew and their children could be together in their rooms. The 4 year old loved the bunk beds and chairs and toys and spent hours playing in there. Laughing Lobster even provided a crib and high chair which made it so nice for our relatives who had traveled across country for this vacation. They could never have brought their own. Provision of the towels and linens and use of the washer/dryer was so appreciated. In past rentals, we had to bring this all and pockets of quarters for the machines. Whether we chose to enjoy the dining space indoors with well equipped kitchen or dine on the deck, it was most enjoyable. The owners thought of everything and more. It was a great vacation thanks to the Laughing Lobster. We definately would recommend this home.

We had a wonderful relaxing week at the Laughing Lobster Cottage over New Year's. Lots of reading by the fireplace, soaking in the tub, and cooking great meals. The house has everything you need and was very kid friendly. Thanks!

It is sometimes the case that properties fall short of what is presented online but not so with the Laughing Lobster Cottage. We were impressed with how up-to-date the accommodations were and with the cleanliness of the house. The hot tub is a great feature and the basement entertainments rooms make it easy for adults and children to enjoy this home. A well stocked kitchen made it easy to cook in. Amenities such as plush towels and washer/dryer were appreciated. An easy walk to a beautiful, family friendly beach was a highlight. You cannot go wrong with this rental!

Having not been to Cape Cod for over 30 years, we were apprehensive about finding the right place over the internet, but the Laughing Lobster fit our needs perfectly. It is near the middle of the Cape, so it is as easy to get to Provincetown for whale watching as it is to get to the Woods Hole for the ferries. The ocean beaches and Wellfleet are even closer. The cottage itself is newly decorated and equipped, and I can't think of one thing we needed that wasn't provided. We had perfect weather and didn't stay inside much, but there are TV and game rooms in the lower level, and toys and games available if needed. And after a busy day doing whatever you like on the Cape, relaxing in the hot tub is just the icing on the cake. While there are other cottages around, the lot is fairly private, and the area is quiet and relaxing. Groceries and such are close at hand, as well as a couple of great ice cream shops that make their own. The Mason Jar in Harwich Port has great sandwiches for lunch, and if you make it to Provincetown, don't miss dinner at Napi's. There is a really good place about 6 miles West on Route 28 on the Swan Pond River that rents kayaks, canoes, and paddleboats, and you can go down the river to Nantucket Sound. The owners have a lot of information on other activities available by e-mail when you rent, and there is a book with lots more in the cottage to make your stay enjoyable.
