The "Eel Skin Inn" is a historic beach front cottage on Smith's Point in the village of Madaket. This is the western tip of the island. The sunsets here are the best on Nantucket. The cottage is nestled behind a dune and you are literally steps from the beach. You are only several hundred yards from Madaket harbor with warmer calm waters that younger children can enjoy.
You can sip your morning coffee from the front deck overlooking the ocean or from the back deck that is protected from the wind. The sun/sleeping porch is another great area to enjoy a meal. The only classic bedroom with a queen bed contains a claw foot tub in room guarding the window that overlooks the ocean. The kitchen,despite all the amenities such an Aga stove and Meile dishwasher will make you think you are in another time with the no wasted space and the 4 foot door out to the front deck.
The living room off the small dining area has a wood burning stove that sits on MacKenzie-Childs original tile design inlay. The TV/sitting room has a large pull out couch and full mahogany ships bath (considered the 2nd bedroom). Both rooms open directly onto the sun/sleeping porch.

PEAK SEASON (Memorial Day through September): WEEKLY ONLY - $3750/week
NON PEAK SEASON (May & October): 2 NIGHT Minimum - $450/night or $2800/week
OFF SEASON (Nov-April): 2 NIGHT Minimum - $350/night or $2200/week
Dates are reserved ONLY after we receive your deposit via Check or Credit Card.
Weekly (is Sat-Sat) Memorial Day thru Sept. 2 night Minimum the rest of the year.

We were a little nervous visiting Nantucket in February but your cottage made the stay worthwhile. It is a step back in time with all the modern conveniences of home. We loved the "ship's bath" what a cool idea for a beach home. We loved sitting on the sun porch wathcing the waves and the wind while having our coffee. The hanging utensils in the kitchen gave us a few laughs as we searched for different items. We loved it!

What a beautiful setting! We enjoyed celebrating our anniversary at your charming cottage. The walks on the beach, the incredible sunsets and the tranquility of reading next to the warmth of the quaint wood stove made our long weekend that much more relaxing and special. We'll be back again to enjoy the Eel Skin Inn!!
