Owner's Profile

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 2007

Hello,
My name is Carlene Taylor and my husband and I, Ron Smith (not pictured :-))and Aslan (pictured), invite you to be our guests. 305 East Conyers Street is a piece right out of history. It has been our home for 3 years and we are choosing to share it with visitors as we have moved up the street to a loft apartment over my business. The property was to be my "semi-retirement" home or our personal permanent "vacation" home. However, when I moved here I had no idea how my business would grow, so I am not "semi-retired" for several more years, but it is still a wonderful peaceful place and so deserving of those who need a break from the stress of the every day grind. It will help you relax and rejuvenate as it has for us.

Why the Owner Chose St. Marys

As I said above, I bought it for my own personal permanent vacation home. St. Marys is like no other town. It is a place where it is quiet after dark and you can hear the birds sing and smell the salt marsh air. Downtown looks like the hometown everyone dreams of. The people are friendly, the weather is great. We literally drove into town for the first time and bought this house before we left. Our story is not that strange around here. There are lots of people that live in St. Marys that came and fell in love with it so deeply they returned.

The Unique Benefits of this House

Sitting on the front porch in the morning with a cup of coffee and smelling the air, watching the ferry go over to Cumberland Island or the sail boats going out at the same times the Ibis from the rookery about a mile away flock out by the 1,000's, or watching the wood storks walk up the street or the otters play in the marsh creek at the end of the street. Of course, watching all of the above return in the evening on the same porch is just as lovely with a glass of wine. There is much time to watch, reflect and breathe.
