It was a such a charming cottage! My husband & I would recommend it to anyone looking for more of a homey feel. We actually spent a lot of time relaxing in the cottage. And we loved having our morning coffee at the little table overlooking the palm trees. If we visit Folly again we will stay here!!!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

We had a amazing time at the secret cottage. It was renovated in great fashion, and they made an excellent use of the space. Eventhough it is small, it was fully equiped with everything that we would need and did not feel crowded. The location is amazing, a very short walk from downton and from the beach. The house manager, Ginger, was very friendly and took care of all of our needs. We can't wait for our next trip back to the secret cottage in Folly!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I love Folly's Secret cottage!! I am local and just wanted to hide out for a weekend and it was perfect. I got up early and walked to Black Magic Coffee for a Zippy Bean and almost had a mild stroke from the caffeine. Then I walked to the pier and watched the surfers. The cottage is next to Beachside Bed and Breakfast and when I returned from the beach Ginger (Innkeeper) and some of the guest were going to Art in the Park, so I went too! Then we hit Crab Shack for Bloody Mary's. I hated to go home even if home was just 20 minutes away!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you so much everyone for all the great reviews and comments! We had a successful first summer with this cottage rental and hope that everyone will keep us in mind for future travel plans and tell all your friends too! Rates go down November 1st but we can be flexible in October as well, just request a quote and we will see what we can do for you.

Listing description is accurate; this cottage is very clean, has every basic kitchen tool, and is right in the middle of downtown fun without being noisy. The only sound at night is the tree frogs. Oak and palmetto trees surround the windows, the beds are very comfortable, and the parking is right in front of the entrance gate. As others have mentioned, Ginger is very wonderful; she greeted me and quickly checked me in, then left me to start my vacation. Overall, this is the best place to stay is you need a small, efficient space.Recommended for: Girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway.

Very cute place. Would go back in a heart beat. Wouldn't suggest more than 3 people tops. I might eliminate a few of the decorations to allow for a bit more space for travelers items. Nicely done.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway.

This cottage was the perfect retreat for a quiet, relaxing get-away. The proximity to the beach, shops, dining makes the cottage a perfect place - once you arrive - you never need your car. The only thing I would change is perhaps the old fashioned sink in the bathroom. Otherwise we found the place very qaint and cozy with a very well stocked kitchen & creative use of such a small space.Recommended for: Girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

My husband and I were thrilled to find this pet friendly cottage, only a 2 min walk to the beach. Our favorite aspects: modern, clean design; cozy "hobbit-like" feel (I am a LOTR fanatic!!); super-friendly owners live on the property and made us feel very welcome. The kitchen is well-equipped and European shower/bath room is awesome (the sink is way too small but otherwise we loved it). We especially appreciated being only 1 block away from downtown. We walked over to Black Magic Cafe every morning for iced lattes and yummy food. As far as Folly restaurants go, we liked Black Magic the best by far. The sandwiches are healthy, fresh, and not overpriced. We did not get to try Lost Dog but heard it is also highly popular. We do not recommend this cottage if you are a hardcore TV/movie person. During the day we were at the beach of course and since we knew there is no cable TV, we brought several DVD's. The TV is very small, located up high in the top corner of the room, and the sound could not compete with the A/C window unit noise. We just kept turning off the AC intermittently. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it was lovely to visit Folly!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway.

My wife and I stayed at this cottage for the first half of our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect. The managers and owners were extremely nice and accommodating. The location is awesome and the amenities are all brand new. We had a terrific time and highly recommend this cottage. It's a nice example of green design as well. We will be back!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

How to begin.. Seacret Cottage is an extraordinary hideaway on the owner's extensive Folly Beach property located close by Center Street, Folly's entertainment and cultural center. Seacret Cottage is small in footprint and way huge in amenities, architectural details and classic cottage style. For an urban cottage it's nicely situated well above the front street so any concerns about traffic noise and celebrating folks were never an issue for us during our stay. A crucial aspect of this rental is the lawn with hammock and an adjacent deck (newly constructed) with very comfortable table and chairs. Really great for daytime relaxing with our daughter and bfriend who visited several times from College of Charleston. We love inventive urban/vacation spaces and this cottage property is exactly that. The interior details and amenities are brilliant. Mike and Christy have clearly put much thought and effort into guest's needs and I can't recall anything lacking. The kitchen is excellent with a full complement of cooking and dishware. Finding four frosted beer mugs in the freezer may have contributed to our positive impressions of course. The small bath is an adventure in itself for anyone who's never used a euro-style "all-in-one" space.. trust me, it works. We slept well on both the loft bed and downstairs futon and the linens are nice. The neighborhood is amazing. We enjoyed long walks with Scout and met so many great folks out and about. The local homes and landscaping are highly personal and inspiring for anyone who loves creative expression and honest building. Lastly: this is not merely a rental, but includes the considerate services of the housekeeper/concierge Ginger, who may very well be the seacret ingredient to this cottage experience. She and the hosts were always accessible and friendly, and we are so pleased to call them new friends and to look forward to another visit. Very sweet cottage! Great use of space! Nicely decorated. The location is super!! It was perfect for us (two adults and a five year old). It is all you need! The owners are super nice as is Ginger. Use Ginger's picks for choosing a resturant (you will be glad you did).Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had a fantastic stay in this sweet little cottage. Great spot for the dogs as well with a lovely little fenced in yard. Very tastefully done, a piece of art, with a super kitchen to work in. The hosts were wonderful. Loft bed comfortable but a little short for a 6 footer. Definitely would recommend this property to any visiting the area. Also the B&B, very interesting with theme rooms. Lost dog restaurant is great and so is Rita's for tuna taco chips.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
