Lola's Lake Escape - Birchwood, Wisconsin
The best of both worlds - indoor and out!
Located on Mud Lake, off of Long Lake in Birchwood, Wisconsin
This beautifully decorated 3,000 square foot lake home is located on 2.5 acres of woods. The property is in Washburn County on Mud Lake and is accessible to Long Lake. The town is Birchwood and is approximately 10 minutes away. You can travel to Hayward or Rice Lake in around 30 minutes, either direction.
Washburn County Forest is within walking distance. There you can enjoy ATV trails, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, hiking, biking, camping, hunting, fishing and wildlife.
From the 3rd week of April into the 2nd week of May, Crappie fishing is fantastic right off our dock. We typically limit out every day, but every fisher person is different and there's no guarantee. But you should be pleasantly surprised. Good fishing continues well into June. You should see Lola's LARGE - Large Mouth Bass and stringer of Crappies mounted on our living room wall.
In December, get in the holiday spirit with all its decorations at Lola's. If there's some white stuff and if you have a snow mobile, be sure to bring it. There's lot's of trails close by.
Newly available: 21' Sun Tracker pontoon, with 60 horse, 4 stroke engine, includes portable toilet and has a bimini top. This rents at $600.00 per week. Please mention when contacting us, so we can assure usage. We have available 8 life jackets, you supply the gas.
Look at the stars while enjoying a campfire at the fire pit sitting on chain sawn oak benches. There's plenty of wood provided. No telephone, so bring a cellular phone with you.
Living Room:
The living room has a vaulted ceiling and is cedar wood lined. Make a cozy fire in the fireplace (wood provided). Walk through the French doors out onto the deck to capture the lake view. Direct TV is provided.
Kitchen and Dinning:
The dining room has sliding doors which lead you to the large deck and overlooks the Lake. The full size kitchen attaches to the dining area. The dining room table easily sits 8 people. The kitchen is equipped with an extended counter (seats 3), microwave, refrigerator, stove, dish washer, coffee maker, hand mixer, toaster, cookware, dishes and utensils. To help with your cooking, you'll find flour, sugar, seasonings and spices available.
Sleeping & Bath rooms:
The main floor, has a Master bedroom with a queen size sleigh bed and full attached bathroom. Also, there are two spacious size bedrooms, each have full size beds. One full size bathroom upstairs and down. More sleeping available, see basement.
Basement:
This is a full size basement with a wood stove. The French doors walkout onto a lower patio. There's a T.V., DVD player and VCR with plenty of children's and family videos for your movie entertainment. We have extra sleeping down stairs also, and a full size bath.
Total: 3 Bedrooms (upstairs), 3 Bathrooms, Sleeps and accommodates 8.

Rate Details (In US Dollars)
Jan-Dec .. (wknd to wknd rental avail only) .. $1393/wk .. $5572/mo
To reserve your stay, payment must be received to secure your dates. When booking,
a $300 security deposit will be included. The deposit will be sent back to you
after check-out inspection is approved and okayed. This will continue to protect
the beauty of Lola's Lake Escape. In case of Cancellations, half your payment will
be returned. Please know that we'll do our best to re-book for you. You may select
another time, prior to one month before your initial reservation, without
penalty. There is a $43 cleaning fee.

What a fantastic spot to relax and enjoy nature! The house as seen in the photos is beautifully decorated and spotless. You could easily sleep 10 people here. The pontoon is easy to navigate with GPS and the lake is full of fish! Bird watchers will love this spot, where you can see several loons, bald eagles, blue heron, osprey, geese and even the occasional peacock! Shell Lake Arts Center and Tommy Thompson Fish Hatchery are both only a 30 minute drive from Lola's. Highly recommend a stay here!

This home is simply wonderful. I almost don't want to say wonderful things because I am afraid to give this hidden gem away. If you want a relaxing, peaceful place, this is it! The space is wonderful, the decks are phenomenal and best if all, for us, was the quiet. We sat on the deck so many hours! I don't know how the owners ever leave! On July 4th, I saw an eagle for in the wild for the first time and will never forget that! We did enjoy Hayward, but it very touristy! We also went to one of the weekly concerts at the Shell Lake Arts Center, went to the nearby casino, and also to the several nice shops. Mostly we just relaxed. This was our first time in Wisconsin-what a lovely state! The kitchen is wonderful? The owners even let us use their spices and every day sundries! Thanks for the peaceful, pleasant vacation. We intend to come back!
