Island Beauty at it's Best, Cozy Beach Front Cottage
Year Purchased: 2009
Why the Owner Chose Cayo Costa Island
We stumbled onto the island by fate. We have a neighboring home in which we live in on and off throughout the year. Our island is a majestical and spiritual place and you too will come to see what we mean and why we want to share the experience with you. It is always hard to leave.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
Cayo Costa beach is as isolated as is beautiful. Many times one can go there and truly be all by yourself! It is often referred to as "the best kept secret in south Florida"
We are located on Cayo Costa Island, Center to Northern part of Island. located on the Dune Line, just south of Johnson Shoals (Lagoon) aprox. 2 miles south of the State Park Beach and Camp Grounds.
Owner's Map of Cayo Costa Island
Sherri and Rick Agnew Owners and Island neighbors. The Junonia house was owned by Martha and Mark Tuttle. We purchased the house after the passing of our good friend Martha in Spring of 2009. We wanted to keep the house as we all remember and love. The house is reminiscent of a fine rare shell known as the "Junonia". This is our treasure to share with all who would like to experience our bare foot lifestyle. In hopes that you can recapture the invigorating sensation of mental and physical well being that we experience by the sea. As the pace of life speeds up, we escape to Cayo Costa to fid our true balance. It is like recharging our internal batteries. Sherri is an interior designer and Rick is a commercial real estate broker by trade. We live in Columubus, Indiana and come the island on and off throughout the year. We have "Sanddollar De LaCosta" as our home away from home. We have restored the Junonia beach house as it was originally built, totally Island style.

My husband and I spent 12 glorious days at Junonia by the Sea Cottage on Cayo Costa Island off the coast of Florida. We stayed 3 days longer than planned because we just didn't want to leave! The cottage was fantastic, beautifully decorated with wonderful views of the Gulf. The swinging king-sized bed was a real treat & we often sat out on the balcony off the bedroom to look at the stars and moon. The house is solar heated so you must be careful with your electrical usage so every night we lit up the cottage with candles and loved it! The house was spotless when we arrived and obviously kept in great repair by the owners. Cayo Costa Island is an adventure and it's a real privilege to stay there. There are 10 miles of empty beaches to shell and beachcomb, no roads, no stores, very few houses....magnificent isolation in natural beauty and wildlife abounds. There are many activities: walking the beaches, birdwatching, shelling, reading/relaxing, bushwacking your way around the island, kayaking, canoeing, taking the boat over to Cabbage Key for a cheeseburger in paradise. Cayo Costa is a place to go to get away and rejuvenate and Junonia by the Sea is the place to stay. We plan to go back again....and again....and again.
