The casa, situated in a lush tropical setting that is enhanced by beautiful and mystically huge granite boulders. Enjoy the peace of the surrounding hills and the view of the main Island, all without seeing another house.
Relax around the pool, pick your own lemons or maybe bananas, if you’re lucky. The private pool is screened on either end by palm trees with a waterfall spilling at one end. The house was built to catch the constant breeze with a bonus of the screened porch overlooking the lush woodland with the ocean and Puerto Rico in the distance.

We chose to build Casa Vaca where we did because of the private and serene surroundings. You have the view of the ocean and Puerto Rico, the breezes, the birds, the privacy a very pastoral setting and yet a tropical feeling.

Tranquil setting, spacious home

If your looking for a simple, quiet rental home on Vieques, this is the place. The large property is situated along a remote country red-dirt road. The only traffic is the daily "cow parade". The land gently slopes and has many fields and rock formations to explore. An open plan interior contains a well equipped kitchen, seating area, screened porch and two bedrooms on the main (2nd level) floor and a large private lower/ground level bedroom. Also on the ground level is long pool with plenty of lounge chairs and shaded decks. From our experience, the owners are accommodating and genuinely care that the house is maintained to standard. The on-island house manager was professional and available. A possible down side is the lack of TV, internet, propane grill, A/C or anything high tech and the absolute need for a sturdy 4x4. To us, however, this was a plus. A overall good value.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, adventure seekers.
